Super salad was amazing
John C.

Amazing food, clean, speedy service, and great atmosphere. I strongly recommend visiting Taco Casa.

The way my receipt and change was handed back to me.

I read through the reviews and thought I would give this place a try even though there were many complaints. I tried to give the staff the benefit of the doubt on their respectfulness and customer service, but I have to say I agree that some of them are rude. When ordering I was told many times "what else?", which I tried to ignore because not many people respond politely anymore when taking an order. When I arrived to the window, the cashier looked annoyed, gave me my total, then stepped away from the window when I was handing her my cash. She stood there, staring at the food prep line and didn't acknowledge me again even though she just gave me my total. When she finally came back to the window and collected my money, she didn't say anything to me. I watched as she grabbed my change and then walked off to wait for the food. When I finally got my change and my order. My money was scrunched up with the receipt and she didn't say anything to me. I will say the taco was bigger than tacos I've received from other places and it was tasty just like the chilada. The customer service was lacking, but at least the food wasn't a waste. I will say it would've been easier to eat if I received napkins or utensils, but I guess I'll need to start storing extras in my car.

Big portions in a clean environment. Sort of like going to a Del Taco but with larger portions. I'd heard of the place but never tried one. Now that I have it would not be my first personal choice, but depending on who I'm with this place is perfect for those not into real Mexican food or anything too spicy. Great for kids as they serve burgers as well.

Delicious. The best fast food tacos in town. Skip taco villa and just come here! We've come at least 3 times since it's been open

Great food great service. The tacos and bur are full of cheese. The prices are cheaper than most places of its kind.

So many times in college, I would stop by Jimenez mid-day for my fix of their Three Amigos plate: Asado de Puerco, Carne Guisada, & Picadillo. Served with a fair helping of chips and salsa, it was a perfect lunch. Their tacos made them one of the best spots in Lubbock. Their placement in the Top 50 Taco Joints in Texas by Texas Monthly is well deserved. On Saturday, the game changes as they serve a Texas Monthly recognized barbecue. Their brisket is delectable, their sausage has a perfect kick, and all their sides are delightful. One of their delights is the La Tia. A barbecue sandwich except it's served on a house-made concha. Holy smokes. It's sugary and if served with brisket, is a glorious creation. I was driving through Lubbock and had to make a stop when I found out they were serving barbecue on a Friday. I got their Brisket Specialty Taco: two corn tacos with beans, shredded cheese, fried egg, and, of course, brisket. In addition, because my greed has no bounds, I got their Philthy Taco: 2 corn tacos, fried egg, potatoes, salsa ranchero, queso, and their smoked barbacoa. I called ahead and ordered before they closed at 2 pm and picked them up right at 1:57 pm (praise the lord). I mowed down both of them. For two tacos, they are most filling. I would've been full off of one. I am still wowed by what they can whip up. It's to-go only as Jimenez runs a small little shop on 34th Street, but they pack it with a ton of love and might. They're some of the best people in Lubbock, and Lubbock gives them all the love back. They just simply don't miss. RIYL: Mexican pastries, tacos, and barbecue

Arandas Taqueria does not disappoint! After living in Lubbock for five years, I finally found a…read morerestaurant that reminds me of home. I love good interior Mexican food, and this place hits the spot! When I walk into a Mexican restaurant and the menus are in Spanish or I see lots of workers dining there, I know I'm in for a great culinary experience. Locals tell me this location used to be the OG Whataburger, which probably makes me love it even more. IYKY how I feel about Whataburger. This restaurant is always busy busy, but I've never had an issue getting a table or booth quickly. It's a seat-yourself kind of place, so find a spot and get ready to eat! PROS Good prices! You don't have to break the bank to enjoy a good meal. Friendly staff who make you feel welcome. Fast service! The food comes out quickly, hot and ready to eat. Excellent coffee! Cold beer! It feels like home. Sometimes, you find a restaurant that just feels right, and this is one of those places for me. CONS The pico de gallo never has enough jalapeños for my taste. Come on, y'all! Give me some heat! The bathrooms are tiny and... well, let's just say they could use some improvement! If you love interior Mexican food, good prices, friendly service, and a laid-back atmosphere, give Arandas Taqueria a try. Arandas Taqueria is definitely one of my favorite finds since moving to Lubbock!

I come here fairly regularly, my go-to's are the specials on Tuesday and Thursday - three…read moreenchiladas rice and beans and three crispy beef tacos rice and beans respectively. Their tostadas or chips are solidly above average, I find myself horking the entire basket. I do not care for the house salsa--too much oregano and too much cilantro. It's terrible. Try the salsa at Mi Ranchito Burrito. It's bursting with fresh jalapeño and tomato and a healthy dose of fresh garlic it's fantastic. The tacos at Taqueria Jalisco or "TJ's" are the best in town they do not skimp and load them absolutely full with the lettuce tomato and cheese on the side. The ground beef or taco meat is simply the best and buy a very safe margin, therefore the crispy beef tacos and of course the beef enchiladas are consequently awesome back to the topic of the subpar salsa. I almost forgot to mention that they offer four optional or additional salsa: "Rojo", a basic salsa with no oregano that I can detect or cilantro either, "Verde"--a tomatillo-based salsa that is pretty good, "Habañero", the name speaks itself and last but certainly not least the"-Avocado-Lime". The avocado - lime is amazing in spite of it having a little bit of cilantro in it the flavor of the avocado and lime and whatever else they put in it sort of wash out the terrible cilantro taste, lol The service here is really good, very attentive and cute Hispanic waitresses. It's a respectable family restaurant but they do have an extensive drink menu. They have the usual refried beans but they have optional Charro beans, which are served whole bean. I think one time I ordered a steak and it was very thin and very well done but I liked it anyway sometimes there is a 10 to 15 minute wait but never longer than that, in my experience finally about the ambience it is very traditional Mexican food restaurant with Mexican themed artwork with emphasis on the blue agave plant which grows in abundance in Jalisco it can be crowded and loud - bustling, but it doesn't bother me I kind of enjoy being a member of a noisy crowd sometimes, lol. But other times it's much less busy and has a more serene atmosphere anyway, give this place a try they also have great breakfast tacos/burritos Closed on Mondays! Lol
