The cashier was very rude. After I ordered my "Whollatta Platter" it was served to me with different options pictured. I asked why and she said because when you chose a chicken vs beef enchiladas the additional items are soft not hard tacos. Now how am I supposed to know that? And when I asked for it to be corrected she snatched them and when the kitchen person made the cashier brought them back slammed them on the counter and said "here"! Ridiculous. read more

Cold, flavorless beans, chewy and oily tortilla, and waxy cheese...first visit to Taco Bueno may be my last. We ordered burritos, tacos, nachos, and tamales, and each was pretty gross and under-seasoned. The queso was the only thing my fiancé and I liked but it wasn't enough to salvage poorly prepared food. We ended up just trashing the whole meal unfortunately as it was nearly inedible. read more

Went here last week for my taco fix and I was impressed by the amount of food that I got and the price! I decided to get their new street taco plate. The plate comes with the choice of two tacos, rice, beans, and chips. I decided to get one chicken taco and one beef taco. Instead of rice and beans I got double refried beans. Also, they have an amazing salsa bar! The bar had a couple of selection of salsas, onions, and cilantro. I loaded up on these while I waited for my tacos. I got my food to go and ate it at home. I enjoyed the chicken taco and beans at first. They both had a really great flavor, but were a little too salty for me. The beans had a good amount of cheese and the taco had just enough of the grilled chicken, veggies, and a sprinkle of cojita cheese. Later I had the beef taco, which again was good, but just a little salty. I think next time I will try their nachos, which looked really good!! read more

I come here often, food is great, staff is friendly. The staff is polite with a fun engaging humor when taking your order. You will leave grinning. It's a nice change from a snot-nosed kid that couldn't be the least bit interested in working. Wish I knew the guys name, kudos for the great staff. This is the kind of customer service that makes people come back again and spend their money there. read more

The customer service of this taco bueno was amazing. I called to order a bunch of tacos and chips for a 2nd grade class 2 days before the event and they were so helpful and friendly. When I picked up the tacos they had everything ready and were really nice. I was so impressed with this place. The children really loved the tacos and chips. read more

Um, I want to go back to Texas just for Taco Bueno. My boyfriend bragged and bragged about Taco Bueno and I was a hater for awhile because I think he was exaggerating about this place. No, he wasn't ----It's that good!! Yeah we went here after a few drinks but the two pound serving of nachos I got were one of the most delicious things I've ever had. Ooey, gooey, cheesy, spicy--it was everything that a nacho dream consists of. I wasn't sure what to expect from this place, if it would be a craptastic Taco Bell knockoff or what but it's like what Taco Bell aspires to be but on steroids. My only question is.....when can I go to Texas again? read more

I've been fortunate to have a Bueno near my work at 3 different work sites over the years. The previous location in Fort Worth I went to the problem was they were usually so slow. I've been to this location 3 times. The drive through intercom is very weak. I can't hear them. I don't have great hearing to begin with but still. On 4/5 I got the chicken tortillas combo with a beef taco and a large ice tea. About a half hour later eating in my car on my lunch break I was on the last chicken tortilla and something was foul in it as I puked all over my nice pants and shirt and made a little mess in my car. Ruined my lunch, I smelled like puke not to mention some secretion leak at the other end. I was able to continue my shift but I felt like hell and I am still not 100% It only takes one bad experience and I"m done. I'm not getting the tortillas again probably and will be emailing corporate. Food poisoning is no joke. Completely ruined my lunch, my day and I was so ill I went to bed early and missed the NCAA basketball championship. Thanks a million Bueno! Update: I do like Bueno so I did send an email to them with no response yet. I am reluctant to try their chicken in anything however at this location. read more

Taco Bueno seems to have hit a bit of a rough patch lately, emerging successfully from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January 2019 after being acquired by Sun Holdings. They've also shut down a fair number of area locations. This one, directly off the 635 W Service road used to be a test location, as their corporate HQ was just a mile or two east. This may no longer be the case as corporate has moved to Decker Drive, also in Irving. I used to really count on Taco Bueno in the early 2000s for my quick service Tex-Mex, it was never gourmet, or authentic, but it fit the bill. As the chain struggled it seemed as if the food suffered equally. The muchaco, which is more or less their signature item, tends to come out with the pita bread/flatbread sort of dry. Which really hurts the mouthfeel and overall palatability of the item. All that aside, the ingredients are still more natural than Taco Bell, the cheddar cheese is still grated from large blocks in store, and the salsa is recognizable as coming from tomatoes versus packets of modified Tabasco sauce. Another complaint unique to this location is their tendency to dish out gingerly portions of protein. This was especially apparent with their new slow cooked brisket, each item was shorted at least half the proper amount, which was disappointing. I am really rooting for Taco Bueno to pull themselves up by the boot straps and recover, but Tex-Mex like other food categories is severely over crowded. Taking note that Del Taco couldn't make it in the area is also another possibly salient look in Bueno's future, but only time will tell. My recommendation to the chain would be to implement some sort of fried potato crisp or fries, one of the most popular items at Taco Bell are their poorly crafted Nacho Fries, it wouldn't take much to trump those and fill the void Del Taco left behind of burritos, tacos, and crinkle cut fries. I do also have to credit them for the gratis salsa bar, as it provides a path to make even dollar menu type items "supreme". You have your choice of 3 different blended salsas, pico de gallo, minced onions, and pickled jalapenos. You can even ask for these additions through the drive through. Some restaurants will also have a few varieties of Cholula inside to spice your meal up. read more

4 stars for a fast food joint you ask? This one earns it. The service is fantastic! They will get you Taco Bueno quality food fast and accurately. The staff should give tips to the other fast food places. In 12 plus years of eating here, never have I had an issue to include today's order. I can't say that for some of their other locations. They can handle special requests without any hiccups. Very quick service!! read more

Cashier helping to expedite $10 order. Being helpful is great, but not at the expense of compromising quality. The drive thru cashier did not change her gloves to make the food. The cashier reached into her cashier's box & used the same gloves to grab the shredded cheese and tortillas for the food. This is gross and unsanitary on its own & especially dangerous during the covid pandemic. read more

I've been coming to this location for some time and even some of the same people are still at this location! What do you expect from a fast food joint? Gourmet service with a maitre'd? Ha! Good one. My bueno chilada platter has always turned out right as well as a nacho salad whenever I ordered it. Whenever I'm running through town to see my friends, I usually stop by here on the way from the airport or even to the airport. This place has done well for my appetite and I. Easy on the wallet and great for people watching. read more

Oh I would be very upset if someone told me that this place is real Mexican. But obviously it's not. It's text max. And even though I'm a huge fan of authentic Mexican, My review isn't based off of that. Thank God we are hungry in this place tasted good for that time. But I probably wouldn't return. Food isn't to flavored and it's not spicy enough for me. The prices are cheap if you're interested in cheap. read more

mmmmmm taco bueno is one of my favorite fast food Mexican places. However, this review is mainly on the service here. Eating in, I can get as much salsa as I want, so there isn't an issue here, however, this location inside is not always clean. It just seems very disheveled every time I come here. Then for drive thru, I feel like they want to charge me for all the extra salsa I want. I just ask for 2 for each item I received, and they can never give me that for some reason. I don't understand why because other locations will give me extra if I ask for it. Sometimes, I just go inside, and then I will ask for a water cup and fill that cup up with salsa! Just to make sure I have enough. Yes I do like some mexican food with my salsa =) read more

Please let me make a disclaimer: I'm a Taco Bell gal through & through but! I recently went visited Taco Bueno and lost my mind!! The service is average speed, the poor server did well dealing with my impatient hubby but the portion of food for the price is crazy huge & I found it to be mighty tasty... my only complaint is that the chicken seemed a little "mass produced", it really didn't have much seasoning but I can't lie I was still very impressed for my first time. I'm definitely going to put this place on my "Go to" list for cheat meals. Another plus was definitely the loads of salsa they give out. Literally loads, I'm a salsa fanatic & while it was so-so I'd still request & use it, add a little of my flare to it & magic! I can easily give this place a 4 out of 5, no sweat. read more

Love this particular Taco Bueno.... Always very clean, and rarely busy. Food is always fresh and fast. And, as with all taco bueno's, you get a good bang for your buck. It's kinda difficult to get to the parking lot from MacArthur as you have to cut through the Shell station, but it's quickly forgotten while munching down a couple of muchaco's, piled high with pico, and salsa. If you have not experienced Bueno.....I'm sorry.....because every Taco Bueno is the bomb squad! No need to critique the cleanliness or attitude of the staff (even if they slap you in the face)....just drive thru, order anything and go home happy. There is no bad Bueno! If I could give less than a star I would. I'm not picky when it comes to Mexican food (it's pretty hard to mess up a taco) but GOOD LORD this was the nastiest fast food I've ever had not joking. I thought it would be a mix of taco bell and maybe taco cabana but it's sooo subpar I can't even explain. I wasnt expecting authentic by any means but save your time and just head to taco bell...lol it's the same price if you just want cheap food. read more

Worker spoke very broken English. I advised him at the intercom that I could not understand him. When I got to the window he was extremely mad and said What did you say to me. I thought he was talking my order. I have him my order again and he said FUCK YOU. I asked for the manager and he said there was not one. I told him I was not leaving until I talked to the manager. A manager finally came to the window but refused to give me his name or his managers name. Also refused to give me the number to corporate.Slammed the door in my face.They were not wearing name tags. I filed a complaint on the taco Bueno.com website but never got a response. I found later the managers name was EVER. I will never go to a Bueno again. read more

I adore Taco Bueno - it's my favorite fast-food Tex-Mex joint. I'm pretty sure they don't use too much in the way of preservatives. I saw something in the drive-thru window about no preservatives, but I haven't done any research into it or anything. It's not very crowded, at least it wasn't when we went. I like everything on the menu that I've tried (which, over the years, has been most of it!), but I always end up going back to the nacho salad, taco salad, or fajita tacos. Sometimes chicken potato burritos (carb overload!). I ADORE their hot sauce - it's actually a salsa rather than a taco sauce/hot sauce. If you dine in, they have a salsa bar so you can get as much of it as your heart desires. The salsa bar also features jalapenos and pico de gallo. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was nice! Just when things couldn't get any stranger, the airport announced an evacuation alert. At this point we just looked at each other and laughed. But I had a plan. I told my traveling partner, "There's an In-N-Out about 10 minutes away once we finally get a car." Now that's motivation. We finally made the short drive and pulled into burger heaven. The drive-thru line was wrapped around the building (of course it was), so inside we went. No line! It was about 9:30 at night and the order was easy: * Double-Double Protein Style * Fries well done My buddy went classic with the Double-Double on the bun -- no shame there. One small disappointment... the shake machine was down. But a few minutes later the burgers arrived and all was forgiven. There isn't an In-N-Out anywhere in Oklahoma, so whenever I'm in Texas I take advantage. And after a day of airports, delays, missed meals, rental car chaos, and evacuation announcements... That burger tasted absolutely perfect. Of course the adventure wasn't over yet. We still had a three-hour drive home because tornado activity had temporarily shut down Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City. But at that point none of it mattered. Full bellies. Smiling faces. Happy ride home. Sometimes a great burger is exactly what the day needed.

The interior is bright and cheerful. The huge throne in the sitting area was unique. The service was pretty good. ALL seemed very focused on taking care of customers. Very helpful with ordering and ensured I had condiments, napkins, salt and pepper. It was really obvious that was a focused effort. As for the food, all were good and fresh ingredients! Roll was soft and fresh. The fries were quite good as well. Price was reasonable for the food quality and taste. While some might suggest it may not be authentic Philadelphia style, for here in Texas, it is pretty good!

How does this happen? Diamond if I would have ordered online she could have served me, but because I came in store she could not. How does a restaurant that predominantly serves philly's have no meat? She said the Manager was on the way with it! Very disappointing. A few days later we went back and my first question was do you have meat today and the lady looked at me like what do you mean? So i explained and she said she was the Manager and they were never out of meat. Fast Forward to Feb 10th I had placed an order at your today I got the wrong order and when I contacted grubhub they said I needed to call the store, I called about 30 times with no answer so I had to drive there. I went to have it corrected your GM named Diamond refused to fix it, never to me, but to the other cashier loud enough that I could hear her, but she never came and told me, so after 20 minutes of waiting I just assumed she was just talking and I was gonna get my order. So I finally asked the other cashier if she could quietly get me the number to corporate so Diamond didn't cause a scene, Well she went and told her. If you look at your cameras from that store you will see and hear her, but again never told me. So I walked up to her to ask about my order and she was so rude and started arguing with me and we got into a verbal argument and she called me a ratchet white bitch three times and cops were called. She should not be a manager, she is rude and very angry. I submitted my complaint to the facebook chat and they had the nerve to say they gave me $5 in charley's rewards on my account. Having had a nightmare delivery yesterday night at Amazon's FTW1 fulfilment down in Dallas TX by the i20 freeway, long story short, I was in my truck camping for over 16 hours in the rain before they managed to offload everything from my trailer. So coming into Carrollton all I wanted really was some hot food and Stop N Go Gyros delivered. Like literally thy delivered. Food was HOT when it arrived. I know the addresses from point A to point B is close by but you just never know if a driver is making multiple stops and when the food does arrive it may even be cold. But they managed to get everything out to me within 30 minutes which is fast service by my book. So yes if I'm ever in town again at a nearby stop, I'd no doubt order again from here!
