So family night lead us to Taco Bravo. It's a nice little set up outta Timonium right off of 83. It's in the shopping lot so parking isn't that bad unless it's a packed night. Visited before going to visit Christmas lights at the State Fairgrounds, sat at the bar and our bartender Jason was fast, friendly and helpful. Ordered a steak taco salad and added chorizo for a small additional fee, one of the better taco salads I have ever had, the shell was tasty and while the bottom was a wet, it was not the soggy mess I have had elsewhere. I also ordered an Al Pastor taco in a corm tortilla, but wasn't too impressed, the salad was extremely filling so I didn't feel like I was cheated on a 4 dollar taco. I ended up getting two classic margaritas and while they tasted just fine and were promptly served, I found they gave me heartburn I never experience with mixed drinks. I used to love this place. Was definitely my go to place near my house for happy hour but within the last year and half the food has gone downhill with the prices still going uphill. The food is not worth the cost even for their "happy hour" prices which are basically "regular" prices at other Mexican restaurants in the area. Drinks are very sugary and you feel like you are drinking a cheap artificial additive no natural flavoring. It is in a strip mall so parking is easy. The interior is simple, clean and open concept. Has high top seating (this is where you can sit to get the happy hour, or at the bar) and have tables and some booths. The service is always friendly which was keeping me going here even with the disappointing overpriced food but on my last visit the food was so bad I made the choice that it wasn't worth going back again. Which I'm bummed about because I like supporting local businesses. We were the first guests of the evening and our server Pricilla was great. She had energy and was attentive. She took our orders immediately and it didn't take long for our food. I got the shrimp and steak quesadilla without peppers and it was delicious. The steak was tender and the shrimp was cooked right. And they weren't salad shrimp which was a plus. My husband got the Bravo burrito I think and he loved it. It was the first time he had a burrito come with fries. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the floor is ridiculously slippery. The staff is friendly, the beer served cold and the happy hour specials, well will make you happy, the bartenders are attentive, and many of the customers seem friendly. I have had the chicken burrito meal a few times, and the fillings are plentiful. The side of fries seemed odd first time, but they are crisp on the outside and fluffy inside, nice and fresh each time. A lady next to me had a Lamb taco and she recommended it to me. the mood of the place is warm and inviting. Outdoor dining is moderately used and has comfortable late afternoon shade. We haven't done Taco Bravo in awhile, so, what the heck?!? We phoned our order in for pick up at six. I ran late and everything was waiting for me at 6:30. A couple of orders of nachos, lamb tacos, two orders of chicken tacos and ceviche. The house was packed with suburban hipsters when I arrived to pick up the goodies. The food was just over $72. I handed $80 to the hostess and left the change for tip. After all, the kitchen put the order together. If we had partaken in house, gratuity would have exceeded 20%. Went for happy hour, was gonna get some tacos but in between the time I sat down and got a drink literally every single employee visible, were coughing into their hand so I was extremely turned off and didn't want to eat a real meal And still worried on if I'm gonna be sick this weekend messing around with those people. Would've given them 2 stars but the bartender was very accommodating. All I got was two drinks and some guac to go with the complimentary chips I was eating, and because he forgot the guac he comped my second drink. I love free!! So that's another star outta me! But though we live in this post Covid world it's something really gross about the entire staff being sick, coughing everywhere and then not even sanitizing their hands at the bare minimum. Here is what we got: 3- pork tacos 3- shrimp ( my fav) 3- chicken Southwest egg rolls ( amazing ) Old bay and buffalo wings ( amazing ) Large size mojito Large size margarita The serve was amazing even via curbside. The food was ready on time, was warm and so good. Very flavorful and great sauces. The chicken tacos were a little dry but the shrimp tacos were the true star! They were amazing and so flavorful. I'm on a roll. This is the 2nd place I been this week. And I stumbled upon this place just looking through yelp and searching "happy hour". Food: where do I start."? I feel like all the happy hour food I had was pretty good. The egg rolls had that south western type vibe but were kinda of spicy. The house salsa and chips were good as well but again kinda spicy and very heavy on the onions. The chicken taco was pretty good and came with a green salsa of some sort. But again, heavy onions. The bean nachos were pretty hardy. This was the only item that was not on the happy hour menu. Each item was under 5$ besides the nachos (9$) so you really can't beat that. Drinks: so far, I have gotten frozen lime and peach margarita. Pretty good drinks. And my guess got lit if of just one :). I also had an pineapple crush (5$). The prices for happy hour are unbelievable you really can't complain at all. Now I personally love the food. And happy hour is from 3pm - 7pm. There is nice music playing and friendly bartenders. I'm definitely coming back. I Amy try some things on the regular menu. Cons: If I could give any advice I would say cut down on the onions. There was a guest saying the the salsa can sometimes be onion heavy. I could Kat help but to notice that there were a lot of onions on some of the items, I.e, tacos and salsa... just a bit too much.
