It is never busy whenever I'm there to pick up to-go, which is nice. I got the carnitas burrito and blue corn chips with guacamole. Plus, I have seen other places where they offer just regular chips, but it costs double the amount, and I bet they don't give as much dip. Anyway, I like this restaurant a lot and hope they can expand, so I can try them in the OC.

This is not the first time I've experienced this type of attitude from her. When I politely asked if my order was ready, she looked very bothered and stressed. I responded, "So, it's not ready?" and she simply repeated, in a very unpleasant tone, "I have not called you." I understand that working in customer service can be stressful, and everyone has difficult days. However, the way you communicate with customers makes a big difference. Her tone reminded me of Del Mercado, where people are practically yelling when selling things, lol. I hope she can work on her attitude and customer-service approach because customers should feel welcomed and respected when they come in.

They have lots of options but the one that sparked my interest was the Gringa De Harina! First of all, I've never heard of a Gringa in a Mexican menu, only just gringo lol so I knew I had to try! Gringa is basically a large ass quesadilla, harina is the flour tortilla, not to mention made from scratch! I ended up picking the carne asada option. Figured you can't go wrong hahaha. Food was quick, it was ready in less than 10 mins. It came with red and green sauce on the side. First bite - omg EPIC!! Flavors of meat and cheese exploded in my mouth, combined with the softness of the homemade tortilla = Heaven!! The sauces made it even better, with a kick! This time, I tried the shrimp and birria tacos. It's the first time I had the shrimp, and I was surprised that it was cut into little bits and pieces. It threw me off, and I prefer it to just come as it is. It would be easier to eat. The taco shells were crispy and more on the hard than soft side. The birria was pretty good, and I tried a little bit of the al pastor meat, but the part I sampled was too tough for my liking. The green salsa was great, but the red one was too spicy for me. I was full after 2-3 tacos, but eventually managed to finish 4. They're quite meaty and full, so it doesn't feel like those tiny tacos that are more like a snack. It's like mid-sized, and has plenty of toppings on it. I think the quesadilla is still one of the best things I've had from Tacos y Que and would recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it yet.

The meat and overall burrito did not taste fresh or good at all. A few hours after eating it, my stomach started hurting badly and I began feeling nauseous and like I wanted to throw up. While the guy was preparing our food, he received a phone call, picked up his phone, and walked away. We had asked him to add something spicy to our food, but our request was basically ignored. Between the poor service, disgusting taste, and how sick I felt a few hours after eating the burrito, I definitely don't plan on returning. I expected much better quality and attention, especially when it comes to food being served to customers.

[Ambiance & Amenities]: This taco shop doesn't have the sexiest decor. There are 7 indoor tables, one ATM, and old-school toy vending machines. One unisex restroom available. [Menu]: 7 meat options for taco - carne asada, al pastor, tripas, pollo (chicken), sesos (brain), buche (stomach), cabeza (head), and chorizo (sausage). *** Carne asada taco + Al pastor taco (with everything, dine-in - $2.25): One of employees brought a plate of tacos to my table. Unfortunately I thought both tacos with double-layer tortilla tasted just alright - salsa had a hint of spicy kick, but flavor profile was bland. *** Feels like this is one of those nostalgia spots for locals who live in Whittier for decades, but there are just too many good $2+ street tacos in LA in 2025.
