Subway is not a place that we ever eat at for the most part when we're at home but on the road it's…read morethe ultimate road food stop simply because while the offerings are for the most part meh, they're everywhere with 40K locations so it's impossible to not run across one even in the metropolis of Chalk Hill, PA. I was surprised to see three people working on an early Sunday afternoon as there was no one in the store and honestly I can't imagine that they ever really get THAT busy but at least at would mean no waiting. The order was taken without issue although in a bit of an interesting quirk, I had to wait for a salad to get made since two of the three people working had no idea how to make one and the one person who did was outside on her phone. Eventually the salad was made without issue and things were as expected flavor wise meaning that it tasted like any other Subway. Meh, but filling. Overall this is a perfectly fine Subway where the staff is friendly enough, the location is easy on/easy off of Route 40 but of course it's still just a Subway. P.S. I forgot about two small negatives. They do not offer Swiss cheese because in the words of one employee "Our owner is too cheap and people ask for it all the time" and no soup during the warmer months for the same aforementioned reason.

The wings were a good size, seemed to be cooked well, and I really liked the Cajun Ranch flavor. Unfortunately, they arrived ice cold. I also would have preferred the wings actually tossed in the sauce instead of having it poured over the top. My kids got the chicken tenders and fries. They were decent, but those also arrived cold. I also ordered the 8-inch Rooster-style Italian. I didn't realize "Rooster style" meant it would come between pizza dough instead of being a traditional hoagie. Interestingly, this was actually piping hot when it arrived, while the wings, chicken tenders, and fries were cold. I'm not really sure how that happened. The sandwich itself was okay, but it was very dough-heavy and I wish the meat had been spread more evenly throughout. Next time I'd probably just order the regular Italian hoagie. The biggest disappointment was my wife's Buffalo chicken salad. The chicken didn't seem to have any Buffalo sauce on it, the bacon was missing, and both containers of ranch had opened during delivery and spilled all over everything. Our delivery was also about 25 minutes late. Someone did call beforehand to let me know there was an issue with the driver, which I appreciated, although I didn't realize it would end up being that late. I called the restaurant about the salad and spoke with a manager. He offered to replace the entire order even though I was only asking to have the salad replaced. They got the replacement out to us pretty quickly, around 15 minutes later. I definitely appreciate the manager taking responsibility and making an effort to correct the situation. Overall, this particular order was disappointing, especially with most of the food arriving cold and the issues with the salad. The manager's response and willingness to make things right is a big reason I'm giving this experience 3 out of 5 stars. I'd still be willing to give Rooster's Roost another try dining in. The wings were big, the Cajun Ranch flavor was good, and I have a feeling the experience would be much better getting everything fresh and hot at the restaurant.

The Uniontown location was great. Great people and great service!…read moreMy issue is the food and new guidelines for serving, which would come from corporate. I ordered soup and salad... 1. I tried the wedding soup and it was disgusting. The meatballs tasted like they were made with cheap canned meat, broth was tasteless, and it was made with pasta shells. Does anyone use small pasta shells in their wedding soup? It should be listed on the menu as a BOWL OF SHELLS. I did not eat the soup. 2. I always liked the pasta fagioli soup so I decided to try that next. I found it ok. The both was raw tomato both, not cooked long enough to mellow the tomato taste. I was like tomato juice. 3. I was dining with other people. They ordered soup with their entrees. Their soup was served and with mins, maybe 4 mins, their entrees were served. No time time to enjoy the first course. Nope. This new serving style makes the customers feel rush. If they wanted to finish their soup the entrees would be or cool or cold. If they are the entree then the soups would be cold. Due to serving this way the table was full of plates and bowls. It was ridiculous. They did say the entrees were delicious. What is going on? Is it like other big restaurants? Profits over quality and experience? I don't plan to return.

It's probably a straight 4.5 star, I'm giving it a 5 based on my experience. But it should really settle as a 4.5 once the whiny people show up. I ordered the country fried steak with a side of coleslaw and potato salad. They accidentally brought a baked potato instead, but quickly corrected it and told me to enjoy the free baked potato. :). I liked this entree a lot! My oldest ordered pork nachos for dinner and they were HUGE. My wife got a pork sandwich and she loved it. Youngest got a kid meal and he ate it all. Best thing was their beer prices. They had 3 buck domestic beers which included, everything domestic. Meaning, I drank some awesome micro-brews that would have been 8-9 bucks anywhere else, for 3. Service was great. They have an ice cream shop inside. I strongly recommend this business if you are in the area or are in Ohiopyle. We visited because the only sit down in Ohiopyle was closed on Wednesday. Not a bad drive. Great food, great beer, great service. Enjoy!
