I don't know why this location has such low reviews!? We're driving to Minneapolis for the weekend and stopped here for some fuel- both food and gas. The Taco Bell is attached to this gas station so it makes it super simple to get to. We were welcomed with a super friendly hello from the associate and she asked how we were. I never have any idea what I want when I come to T bell so I was that annoying person staring at the menu, getting my glasses out to read it. Our food was ready under three minutes and was deliciously hot. The guy giving us our food from the back was extremely friendly and lit up the room with his smile. I got 2 Doritos Locos tacos because I know they don't disappoint! I got one nacho cheese and one cool ranch. Both tacos tasted like they were really freshly made but the nacho cheese one was on extra point today. The beef was seasoned well and the crunch held up. My cool ranch taco cracked in half on first bite-party foul! Next time we're driving to Minne we'd probably stop here again for convenience, great food, and service! read more

The food is a joke. Everything I ordered is half the size of other Taco Bell's six hard shell six soft shell. The hard shells were half full with maybe a teaspoon of beef very little cheese and lot of lettuce the soft shell tacos were about the same but even less meat. They were only about 1/4 " thick folded in wrapper four bean burritos maybe had two teaspoons of beef very little refried beans and cheese. It was like they were running out of everything and trying to make do. After I payed and got the order they told me they had no mild sauce only fire sauce I tried to give it back but it was a kids and nobody knew how to credit debit cards. They suggested I go to dollar general and buy a bottle of taco sauce Bottle was $4.65 so I lost total of like $25 +. What a waste Mostly non English speaking Somali truck drivers from the truck stop. Okay after a 20 minute wait the girl behind the corner was apologetic for our wait... so I'll give this Taco Bell 2 stars. If you MUST go to Taco Bell, be ready for a wait and most likely your order won't be correct. We ordered the new fiesta wrap. (Thank you Taco Bell for bringing back something vegetarians can eat) but they made this totally wrong... no rice or beans just a wrap with LOTS of cheese, a dollop of guacamole if that, sour cream, a dash of lettuce, maybe a tomato cube or two and fiesta chips. So essentially a sour cream and cheese burrito... We also ordered some taco supremes which tasted as expected. You have to order on a kiosk, which is fine but only one of the two were working. Truck stop location but only the drive through is open. A 16 wheeler, box truck or sprinter van can't fit in your drive through. Not convenient for people (driver) who stop here for a break and or reset. Not cool for people who work behind a wheel and need a place to walk in and eat. This Taco Bell was not great ! We spent 30.00 , ordered ahead through the app . They were out of the small tortillas so they had to cut the big ones down to size. The food didn't taste like Taco Bell food usually does . I ordered a Power Menu Bowl chicken, this was NOT good . Food was cold . It took them about 7 minutes just to answer at the drive thru ! I have never seen such an interesting set up! First you have to place your order on a menu board and unable to make certain modifications. The staff can hear you struggling and when asked for help was told she worked drive up and helping the 9 customers waiting wasn't her job! Staff of 3 ppl and doesn't seem to appear to be doing anything. After the six other customer got there food before us I asked do you have my order and staff reply was I don't know!! Wow, two check ins at this particular Taco Bell in Mauston, WI. This must be my go-to road trip through WI pit stop. Reports cannot confirm or deny if it has anything to do with the fact that it is literally right across the street from Carr Valley Cheese... What can I say - it's a Taco Bell. In a gas station. Yeah. Every time I have been there (which has got to be more than twice) it has been clean and well-kept, the food comes out quickly, and it tastes like Taco Bell to me. The clientele can be a little sketchy at times, but it IS located in a fairly busy truck stop area. Consider using the drive through if you're in a hurry or scared of truckers. read more

I'm not real big on leaving reviews for fast food but, this place just absolutely warrants one! I've only had Taco Bell in my town, maybe 5 times a year. I came here when we had to go to mauston and thought we'd swing in quick. WOW! The difference of the two stores is crazy! super fast service, really nice girl at the window, the food was like GOOEY HOT! And, actually looked like the pictures on the menu! Seriously! I mean how often do you see that? So, a few months later we had to go to Mauston again and of course we swung in and my husband and I both said " no way will it be as awesome!!". Well,,,,,, IT WAS! I've been to a lot of Taco Bell's, The food and quality is always the same at every one. What sets this one apart from the others is the help. This location always seems short a few employees. If the drive thru is busy or a megabus is at the pilot truck stop next door expect delay and mistakes with order. More than once in the past few years I've overheard kids that work there complaining to each other about how their job sucks. Personally I'm a little leery of ordering food in places where there's pissed off employees. More than once I went here and while waiting in line to order i sensed tension from the order taker and figured nope not today and went to McDonald's or Culver's. Worst service for truckers during a pandemic, can't order at the window, can't download the app because it's not in my App Store, have to call in to order with 5 truckers standing outside they served about 20 cars before we even started to get our food. We are in a TRUCKSTOP and treated like shit compared to the cars who get to sit in their heated cars while we huddle outside with snow coming down! I've been coming to this Taco Bell for two years now. I live nearby and unless my husband and I have no plans for the day, we typically order from the drive thru. My experiences have ranged from alright to awful. Drive Thru: Service is usually prompt, but the order is very rarely correct. Having it corrected is time consuming and the cashiers are usually unprofessional about it. Also, be wary if you pay with cash. I've recently had an experience where my order was $13, I paid with $20, and the cashier never gave me the change. The order was incorrect, so with that as a distraction, I didn't realize until much later that I did not receive the change back. Dining Room: For being attached to a gas station, this location stays relatively clean inside. The clientele range from truckers to passengers on the Mega Bus regularly, so they do manage to stay decently busy. Lines can be long, so be prepared to wait up to 30 minutes for your order. There are only two cash registers, so this is somewhat unavoidable during a busy period. I've had my order wrong two or three times while dining in and the cashiers inside have been much more courteous about correcting it. Customer Service: Drive thru cashiers here are very rude and slow, often times seeming inebriated. Indoor cashiers are slow, but very courteous. Managers, however, are a completely different story. I mentioned earlier that the cashier at the drive thru once did not return my change. I called the manager as soon as I realized the issue and was told that it was not her problem and that the cash drawer was actually short that day. I've rarely experienced custom service from a manager that disrespectful. In short, my change was never refunded and the manager made no attempt to rectify the problem. Overall, this Taco Bell is not the worst I have been to, but it is a far cry from the best. It's apparent that the issue lies in the staff alone. If you are looking for decent authentic Mexican and don't mind paying a little more and waiting a little longer, Cinco de Mayo is just down the road across from K-Mart. The staff there are much more attentive to their customers as well. If you're just after fast food, I strongly recommend the local Culver's or Hardee's on the other side of the interstate. Note: Whilst typing this, my husband was at Taco Bell ordering multiple Chipotle Chicken Flatbreads and received several Chipotle Steak Flatbreads instead. Every time my father and I go to this specific Taco Bell, they always mess up the orders. He asks for no tomato he's gets tomato I ask for no lettuce I get lettuce. Tables are never clean whole place is filthy dirty. Staff are very unpleasant. Will not return. read more

It's clean, and the dining area is nice. Make sure you check your order if you get drive thru though. The couple times my wife and I have gone through the drive thru, they've messed up her order even when she has meticulously described what she wanted. read more
