I've been to this Taco Bell countless times, and I always get the same disappointment: a really badly cut quesadilla. I cut quesadillas better when I'm drunk and hungover at the same time. Sometimes there's one huge piece, and the rest are so small I could literally fit them into my earring hole without any lube. Taco Bell is synonymous with today's fast food nation of choices for Americans today and is increasingly becoming so across the world. While food options can be cheap here, be reminded that it's not authentically Mexican fare. I've been here for a good number of times before checking into my yelp app, which says slot. Sometimes, usually didn't care about it, till I developed body issues and was all depressed about it. This was back before 2004, when I didn't know better. Nowadays, it's all about moderation and the so called cheat day is always nice to break the mode from healthy eating, for sure. :) Taco Bell, as with other typical fast food joints, is basically touch and go. Order food, get food, eat or take out. Not much to comment on the service, although, if you do get attitude at the counter, you'd best believe that you'd get annoyed too. But that doesnt usually happen to me anyway. For what it's worth, the customer service here at this Taco Bell restaurant is pretty good and the restaurant itself is clean. Sometimes, you'd see families dining here, as well as singles dining alone, as well as kids playing cards and hanging out here on a random Saturday afternoon. The overall experience is good, yet average. Nothing mystifying or mysterious about that. The ambiance is nice and good. I do love the quiet setting of the restaurant to just kick back and chill. Drown out the noise and just be in your own thoughts while having a soft taco or three for lunch on a random weekend. Ignorance is often bliss, as they say! You are expecting the same ol same ol stuff you end up going to Taco Bell in the first place. While not authentic Mexican fare, Taco Bell is often cheap, especially when they do their combos and $1 menu options, like the other big boys. Typical fanfare is what you usually expect from this Taco Bell and they aim to give it to you, since you are willing to pay for it. Nothing wrong with that. Very reasonable options at a appropriately priced place. This Taco Bell location is located at the venerable Koko Marina shopping center in the heart of Hawaii Kai. It's kind of hard to find, but it's on the Lunalilo Home Road section of the shopping center and its on the 2nd story. It's nearby the consolidated theaters, so you can always fuel up here at Taco Bell or any other eatery and hit the movies, if you are so inclined to. Taco Bell accepts major credit cards, which is always a good thing, as well as cash. My favorite Taco Bell entree would be the soft taco, which I could take down 3 in one sitting, no questions asked. The crunchy tacos are good too, although they are cheap as a combo meal. Other more expensive options can set you back up to $10 for a meal. Rest assured that they are definitely worth the extra $$ if you are feeling extra hungry and feeling the need to stuff your mouth with Taco Bell awesomeness. What can I say about Taco Bell really. It's what you expect from a typical fast food joint, that knows just about Mexican fare as you can get. The restaurant is usually clean and that's probably the best thing going for them - other than the food and the customer service at the counter. Not sure if this place is good for healthy eating, but it's there for anyone who wants a cheap meal deal without much of the fuss. Regardless of what you expect here at Taco Bell, it's what you think of this place and what you are craving for what decides for you. Authentic Mexican venues are abound in Honolulu, although they can he much more than Taco Bell. This place is very much affordable and tame on your budget, without much qualms about anything beyond your control and taste bud requests. The overall experience each time I come through Taco Bell Koko Marina shopping center has been decently good. It is a fast food eatery, after all. Don't expect too much and you'll be pleasantly surprised. I do love an occasional taco or two once in a while. Cheap and convenient is Taco Bell's mission to cater to the masses. Ordered a simple meal. When I got to the window the guy handed me a large bag. Since they seal the bag, I asked "are you sure this is mine? The bag is pretty heavy." He simply replied "your straw is in the bag." Well when I got home I figured out that the bag was full of all kinds of different food, none of which I ordered and nothing I wanted to eat. My receipt was correct so my order was floating around there somewhere, but I feel really sorry for the person whose food I got. This was out of the ordinary for me...never ate at a taco bell before because I am used to eating at the burger joint, but today something drew me in that wanted me to try a different place for a change..that was the flatbread sandwiches. As soon as I knew that I got to have the flatbread sandwiches, i was like ok. This is something that I got to try, which I did. However, it is kind of spicy and my stomach can no longer have anything that is way too spicy because I ended up feeling ill and I have to admit that I am unable to eat anything that is way too fiery and too spicy. Glad to see a Pizza Hut Express inside of the taco bell, which is a good thing to have in case you are craving pizza and if you visit a taco bell, you can check out the breakfast offerings that they have, which is from 6am -11am daily. So the next time I do eat there i want to make sure that the flatbread sandwiches are not too spicy and not mixed in into the sauce so that way i can enjoy the sandwiches. Don't short change me and than roll your head and eyes at me. I refuse to punish a business for something clearly caused by an individual. Last time I was here I admit I wasn't very clear and changed my order last minute. So I understand how my order could come out wrong. After a long day of work and than a workout I like to pick up a vegetarian option from here because its near and quick. I won't name names or times because I don't think this individual deserves the trouble since he's young. But this time I came and ordered two black bean quesaritos and a black bean crunchwrap. All with jalapeños coming to a total of $14.52. I pulled out a $20 while waiting and scrounged 5 single dollars and a nickle from my pocket because I was planning to stop by the car wash and having a $10 and $5 on me would make it more convenient. Same guy from last time takes my money and hands me my change and says "that'll be $5.53". I say "no that'll be $10". Its a short back and forth about who gave what and he rolls his head and eyes at me. He appears to open the till but I'm annoyed and just say never mind I'll just take the food. Last Christmas I donated $640 alone and I have a stack of checks from an elderly client I refuse to cash because she can't afford another hearing aid so I secretly don't charge her for my services. I'm not going to be petty over $5 but thats not how you handle a problem. I don't think taco bell deserves a negative review and the guy is young so I don't want to cause him trouble or get him in a bind. But you guys should assess your qualities. And I bet your register is going to be $5 over tonight because I searched the car afterwards and I know for a fact I gave 5 single bills. I had the box of grande nachos and they were terrible. Don't buy it! The chips were like boiled over flour. The ground meat was like ground up mush and had no flavor. Food presentation is ok nothing special...although with the current law suit of 100% beef...the meat has been almost invisible and its very watery! The service here is EXTREMELY slow. It used to be really fast but maybe they got new managment. Also, the drink had minimal syrup in it. Normally I like Taco Bell, but tonite was bad. The long drive thru line was to be expected, but when you order a taco salad, and ask for BOTH dressings, and they charge you extra, you expect to get BOTH dressings. I understand that there are mistakes, but I called to let the manager know that I was missing the salsa dressing that comes in the small plastic container. That's when everything went wrong. The first call to the Hawaii Kai location went unanswered. When the second call was answered, I asked to speak with a manager. The response I received was "yeah." I asked again to speak with a manager, again this person said "yeah." I asked for this person's name. No response. I had to ask for this person's name 3x before she finally said SHANNEN (female with a slight Filipino accent) which made me wonder if this was her real name. While I was explaining that I was charged for asking for both dressing, but I had only received the ranch, she was either not paying attention or doesn't know her products because again I had to keep repeating myself. Getting frustrated, I asked for the phone number for the corporate office. After asking 2x, she responded that the phone number is on the receipt. I asked her if she knew the phone number, but all she kept saying was that I should look at my receipt. Flabbergasted, I pointedly asked her, "Don't you know the number to your corporate office?" This review is a message to the owner (who I hope reads the Yelp Reviews) and my advice to future customers. Bottom line is, fast food equals fast service and manners, courtesy and communication should not be sacrificed specially when the end result is fast food at a snail's pace. We came to Taco Bell for a quick bite only to have my wife stand around for 15 minutes while the staff worked in the back or tended to the drive through. No acknowledgement by the staff and even when asked a question, instead of addressing the sole customer standing by the cash register, the guy just blew off the question. I followed up this occurrence with my own wait in line but this time to speak to the manager about the lack of service and perceived indifference by the staff. Here's some advice: if your staff is failing you because they have not been trained properly, that's your fault as the owner for not paying attention to detail. If your staff fails because they aren't cut out for the task, try retraining or fire them. If it's a combination of both, I strongly recommend you re-asses your priorities when it comes to how you train and prepare your people and invest more time in training and communication. At the end of the day the customer can find fast food around the corner and you want them to keep coming back to you, not the competition. read more

I recently ate at the Hawaii Kai Taco Bell because I wanted to try their new Nachos Bell Grande with Kalua Pork. I ordered the Combo without looking at the detailed description as to what comes with it and was extremely disappointed when I received my order. It consisted of the Nachos Bell Grande layed out in a smaller dish than before and came with only a medium drink. All of the other combo's come with a large drink and a soft or crunchy taco. Furthermore, it cost @$7.30 whereas the other combo's run about $6.50 to $6.90. Lastly, it appeared like an apprentice had made my dish because the sour cream was lumped off to one side of the dish and about 1/2 a teaspoon of chopped tomatoes was on top of it.
