Friendly reminder- The line for drive thru will always be long, a parent used to work at Taco Bell and mentioned they are short staff and seems like no one wants to work, she puts in double shifts too. That being said, I try to be patient when I visit , I normally do drive thru. Lately I've been obsessed with the diablo dusted crispy chicken nuggets, 5 pieces for $5.79, I get that, needed protein to eat with my salad. My 2nd stop this week. I like the diablo dust with the diablo ranch sauce, it is spicy but for me its not. I like that the chicken is crispy and chicken nuggets does not have filler, its real chicken breast. This visit I also got a side of guacamole $1. to eat with the chicken, great combo- try it, you will thank me for this creation. All in all, great lunch, healthy'-? One of THE WORST Taco Bell's on island due to the drive-thru waiting period. Placed a mobile order on the app and was the third car in line. We were sitting at the window waiting for about 20 minutes before we finally received our food. This location also doesn't alternatively have a walk-in dining room to pick up orders. Time for an update of this Taco Bell restaurant at the Koko Marina Shopping Center, in the Hawaiii Kai neighborhood. Yeah, I know it's not authentic Mexican, but for fast food Mexican, it ain't so bad. Want a quick & cheap meal? Taco Bell should fit our needs. I came here this past Tuesday after shipping out some broken parts at the UPS Store that was located at the Koko Marina Shopping Center. By the time I finished shipping out my boxes, it was time for lunch & I figured I'd stop by the Hawaii Kai Taco Bell, as it was just a hop, skip, & jump away from the UPS Store. I have to tell you, a lot has changed over the years (as far as customerservicegoes). With a lack of workers available, I noticed this particular Taco Bell is basically "serve yourself", where you place your own food order at a kiosk, pay at the kiosk (or you can pay at the counter with a clerk once they get to you). The Taco Bell staff will prepare your food order & call you when it's ready. There is a station where you can get your eating utensils, napkins, & taco sauce. If you ordered a drink, there is a self-serve soda fountain available. I came here for a few burritos, as I ordered a 7 Layered Burrito & a Chicken Enchilada Burrito. Very economical lunch, as I paid $7 bucks & some change. The burritos were pretty filling, and satisfying. Lots of parking in front of the restaurant, so access is very easy. The absolute worst Taco Bell in Hawaii with the worst fast food mobile app ordering system. I placed my dinner order via the app, get to the Hawaii Kai Taco Bell and see a line to the road. I've done this before and the wait is easily 30-40 minutes. I call, and call, and call about 6-7 times. Finally manager Rumi answers. He tells me he can't refund my order and I need to come into the store tomorrow morning. What? Then he tells me to call a mainland number and hangs up on me. Check your orders before you leave the drive thru window. Don't worry about the line of cars behind you that wraps around the building and out onto Lunalilo. Chances are high some of your order is missing and if you leave the window, you'll have to sit in that line for another 30-40 minutes to get your order corrected because you can't walk in due to renovations to their dine in. My mother specifically asked the drive-thru employee for her Discovery Box, but was told it was already in the bag despite her concerns. When she got home, the entire order was incorrect. We returned to the store, and while a second employee eventually corrected the order without an apology, the food we received was unacceptable. My Chicken Cantina Bowl was cold, contained random pieces of nacho fries, and appeared tampered with. As for the Discovery box it was missing an item. Taco Bell is Taco Bell, but I have certain expectations even for Taco Bell. This location doesn't reach any sort of expectation. So I went to pick up dinner because I was in the area. I wanted to take a little walk from where I parked in the shopping center, so I found the stairs, gingerly walked through the rain puddles up to the door and it's closed! Well it's open, but the dining area is closed because of low staffing. Wtf. They pay $15 an hour but can't keep their staff? So I walk back down to my car and go through the drive through. I make my order and drive to the side to pay. The cashier doesn't acknowledge me, just holds out his hand for the payment. He didn't even look at me. So weird. McDonald's workers treat me like a queen compared to this guy. Didn't say thanks or bye so I just drove off after getting my food. Visited Hawaii Kai Taco Bell and gave the cantina chicken bowl another try. I was not disappointed..this time the order was beautiful...it did not slide down to one side.....it tasted wonderful..especially the chicken and it also was pleasing to look at. This is what I was hoping for...the service at the pick up window was fast however, i do miss the the first menu board in the car line. It helps to see the menu while you are waiting in line and then order when you pull up. Now though you have to pull up and go through the menu, tie up the car line then make your order. read more

I ordered at Taco Bell Koko Marina. This was done on the kiosk. I ordered a veggie bowl. I did a very specific order on it too. I ordered no purple cabbage, no pico, extra cheese, extra rice, crispy strips and onions. What I got wasn't the exact order. I didn't get any extra cheese, no extra rice and not even the crispy strips. I was charged for the extra cheese, extra rice and the crispy strips. This isn't the first time that the Koko Marina Taco Bell has screwed up my order. The last time I ordered something, I also did it on the kiosk, I ordered a veggie Mexican pizza, no tomatoes, no pizza sauce, onions, rice, green lettuce and crispy strips. I ended up getting a regular Mexican pizza and no crispy strips and no lettuce. I didn't even get my money back for that mistake. So food and service gets a one and a half out of five right now. As for the ambiance, it's not really a place to eat in. It doesn't feel as welcoming like the old school style Taco Bell from the 80s and 90s. It just feels too modern and rushed. Read the reviews people. They are all true. I went to the Hawaii Kai location this morning. I ordered a meal and asked for a Diet Coke. When I received it, I gave it a quick taste to double check before leaving the drive through. It tasted like regular sugar Coke. I asked the worker who handed it to me if it was truly diet. She said yes emphatically. I'm diabetic and drinking regular coke will spike my blood sugar to dangerous levels. When I got home I tested the soda and attached are the results. Sugar readings were off the chart. For reference I also tested a diet soda from home. The result was "LO". This is a huge mistake and something this establishment needs to understand they cannot make. Had I drank that soda my blood glucose would be in the 700s. Taco Bell is the McD's of Mexican. Tastes good and is fairly benign. lol While I'm a meat lover, I recently found their Veggie Mexican Pizza really good! They used to have an excellent pulled pork (kalua pig) version of their Cantina Bowl, but now only have the Cantina Chicken Bowl. Probably very good, but I need to try it. Look i get that you are trying to recycle sauce packets, but this is getting ridiculous, or none of your employees can count. I don't know why I have to constantly double check how many sauce packets every time. Our last order was a #9 and a burrito. We called the store and eventually spoke to a woman who said she was a manager, but she was brief and dismissive, then abruptly hung up on us. When we called back to try and get her name, she refused to give it and hung up again. She was very rude, and this happened more than once. She only said we could get a credit "next time," but wouldn't say who to ask for or how that would work. No one is taking any accountability. The food quality here is terrible most of the time. If you order anything that should be crunchy I promise it won't be unless you eat it immediately. Idk what's been going on but in back to back to back (three peat) attempts to eat here they've managed to send me incomplete orders, granted it's kind of on me for not checking before leaving but definitely gonna be taking a break from coming back. Hey Yelpers, I made an account to share this. I headed to Taco Bell after my long, long day at work. As I went through the Drive-Thru to pay for my meal, the worker was having difficulties with my coins. I get it, the younger generations don't learn change like we had to. This fella told me I didn't give him any coins. In fact, I did. I paid for my meal in exact change. Naturally, I'm exhausted and didn't want to put up a fight. So, I gave him it, confused. I don't understand why Taco Bell is hiring workers who don't know how to handle money, as that seems like one of the crucial parts to a job like this. On Sunday January 15th around 1pm we walk into Taco Bell and went straight to the counter. Was attending a softball game at the park. Never been there before. With a big sign saying no counter service please use the kiosk. Short staffed !! I wasn't the only one to encounter this. So I asked an employee if he could be so kind and assist us. He said he had no idea how the kiosk worked. So I asked for a manager who made me wait about 25 mins. with no help. So this kind couple explained how it worked. Still waiting for the manager to acknowledge, we needed help. I was very disappointed evidently nobody cared. Not a way to conduct business.
