I ordered food and I checked my order BEFORE I left the window because they have messed up my order before, and once again they made a mistake. I handed them back the mistake and asked them for what I ordered. A few minutes later they came back handed me a burrito and I was on my way. Only t found out 5 minutes later they game me the wrong item AGAIN. Afterwards I call the location and tell them what happened. Whoever I spoke with on the phone was rude and short with me. I asked nicely if they could please remake the item now instead of putting me on their "mistake" list that I was on my way back with hungry kids and needed to just quickly run in and grab it, she said fine and hung up on me. I like Taco Bell, its my 'monthly treat' if you catch my meaning when I need to dive into ice cream, chocolate and junk food. The only con to this place is the drive thru wait time. It gets really bad so I always end of going inside, its much faster, but either way sometimes they close the dining room for cleaning and it always seems to be at 7pm at night (PEAK HOURS) what is that crap? So sometimes I end of having to wait in the drive thru. I have never had any issues with my tummy after eating her despite popular comedic representation of Taco Bells affect on bowel movements. I love the food, its always hot and well priced. The only other problem I have is that every time I order I specifically as for no onions and its sometimes a frustrating process for me because there will almost always be a few that somehow managed to get in, I assume its because the onions are right next to the beans or maybe they are in to much of a rush and have some onions stuck on there gloves. I hate dehydrated onions there like water moth bombs in my mouth. BLAH! Anyway aside from the occasional blunder of wait time and an onion the food is good and the service is great. read more

We stopped by for a quick meal, but drive thru line was too long, so we got off. We are glad we did. There was a young, skinny guy that asked us if we were doing well throughout our meal. This is the first taco bell I've ever been to that has some sort of in-restaurant serving. We didn't get his name (asian) but he was happy to do his job. Amongst Taco Bell's, one of the better ones. I was craving something familiar for dinner in our first night in Hilo. This Taco Bell was clean, fast and accurate with our orders. Usually at TC, something is messed up; but they got my no beef, sub beans, light cheese all accurate. Plus they leave the sauce, forks etc for you to take instead of having to ask. This has got to be one of the worst Taco Bell's ever. Everything we had was inevitable and gross.

The food was okay. The service is what ticked me off. Their intercom thingy in the drive-thru was broken I'm assuming, seeing as they had an employee outside relaying orders. I placed my order, and waited a long time to finally get up the window, due to an order mistake in the car before me. I thought it might have just been the customers, but no. Pretty positive it was the staff. They also got my order wrong too, then proceeded to talk smack about "it's the customers, they're bullshitting" and "yeah it's the customers, because she (the lady outside) said.." RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. I just took my food when they brought the rest of the order and left. I'm not going back. read more

So disappointed in the newly remodeled Hilo Taco Bell. The food is still very good, and the staff are great, but the "new" dining room is now very unappealing and uncomfortable. Much less seating now, no booths, and hard chairs that sound like nails on a chalk board as customers try to sit on them. Darker than before. The high - top tables and chairs are unusable for people over 50 years old, and the cheap, new low tables rock back and forth as you place food & drinks on them. The restaurant didn't need remodeling. The old booths were in excellent condition and there were plenty of them to accomodate the hoards of customers this Taco Bell always has on hand. The newly remodeled store, allows customers to grab chairs from other tables and I noticed families of 4 stetched out between 2 tables, further reducing the very limited seating available. The message, we get loud and clear, from Taco Bell is, "We don't want you to stay here, come get your food and leave ASAP, please. We have made our restaurant uncomfortable and have far fewer seating spots, so get the hint, get the food and leave, you are no longer welcome". Is that the message you really want to give to your loyal and frequent customers? Because this is exactly what the result of the new remodel has done. In the past we have always enjoyed eatting our fresh made, crunchy tacos, right after they were made in the dining room. Now we don't know if there will be a table available when we go there to eat. This is the SLOWEST Taco Bell ever! Drive up takes 15 minutes, walk in takes 20 minutes. It's called FAST food for a reason, right? There is no place inside for take out customers to sit. Parking is also an issue. it's the only Taco Bell in town, so you just gotta suck up the slow service if you want Taco Bell. Food is always good, service could be friendlier and FASTER. read more

Food was good as normal. BUT!! What I really came to review is the cashier! She was so nice! My husband and I are vegan so our order can sometimes be complicated. Saydee B. Was so nice about it and she even noted that it was all dairy and meat free! My rating is going down because lately Taco Bell has been my orders wrong. I would order a "CHEESY POTATO GRILLER" which only contains cheese and potatoes. I bit into my griller and there was chicken. I immediately spit it out and called for my refund. When I got to the window I expected my refund to be back on my debit card but she automatically did it in cash. Didn't want it that way though. I haven't eaten chicken in over a year and had a sore stomach the next day. I would hate to think Taco Bell doesn't care if people get sick from their food. This location offers a newly remodeled dinning room, and everything you expect from a Taco Bell, fast cheap food. I veganize my meal by ordering a fresco bean burrito, minus red sauce, and add a side of rice. According to the Taco Bell website no animal products are used in this combination, and this creates a cheap dining alternative when out and about. Unprofessionalism behind the counter the past 3 times I been in here. Most of them don't look happy to be working there. There was one girl that was on register twice in my last 3 visits asking other employees for help and they give her attitude, one employee was was straight up ignoring her. I have eaten at taco bells throughout the world and this one just might be the worst. I ordered 2 tostadas with extra cheese and when they were given to me by the smiling young man with actually less cheese than normal i asked him to confirm that this was extra cheese to which he said yes.
