Si-Sis Tacos is a hidden gem that perfectly balances the charm of a casual food stand with the comfort of ample seating, clean bathrooms, and convenient parking. Although we visited at the end of the day on a Sunday when they had run out of several items (a testament to how good the food is!), we left completely satisfied with what we were able to try. The flaky fish tacos were a standout--crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with fresh flavor. The real surprise, however, was the Super Burrito. It was huge--definitely enough to share between two people, though you might not want to once you take your first bite! Every ingredient tasted fresh, and the flavors blended together seamlessly. The owners were warm and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. From the quality of the food to the friendly service, there's nothing negative to say. Si-Sis Tacos is a spot you'll want to revisit--just make sure to arrive early to catch the full menu!

The horchata was what sold me on stopping and ordering! Let me tell you this Ono fish over this heated cabbage was supreme!

The food was the most authentic Mexican food I have tasted in so long. The service was phenomenal! The atmosphere outdoors yet inviting and the vibe was perfect for our family to sit and eat! Felt welcomed and blown away by the Ono grinds! The Ono fish tacos was absolutely superb mouth watering and the sauce and the pepper recommended to eat with it was the best advice and it was so good all together! I will be back and next time when they open!!' Go guys from being a Texas veteran and missing the Tex mex and growing your in Oregon having the real deal Mexican food experience from tasting all over the mainland and Oahu I promise hands down this the best place I have found thus far! I will be returning and I'm sure this is my newest favorite place for the grinds! I feel like we got a great amount of food and drinks for the price! They have horchata and many other drinks I can't wait to come back and try! They were sold out so I will be coming back to try more of their selection! Ya'll this place is worth traveling for! No regrets price was reasonable service was amazing and chill vibes I will be back! Aloha & Mahalo Nui Loa to everyone who serviced our Ohana today! Great experience no Complaints! Food was amazing

Ridiculously delicious. Super tasty, fresh, spicy salsas. The tlayuda (Mexican pizza) was so good. Reminds of taquerias back in L.A

EXCELLENT food, probably best on the island. Good, fast service. Got the quesabirria order and street tacos with steak, and my boyfriend and I ended up just splitting one and saving the other because it was so filling and great portions. It was only $25 total! Best tacos I've ever had. Cute little area with other food set-ups next door.

Best Mexican beef stew I've had ever, I've even lived next to Mexicali most my life. Best food dish I've had in Hawaii

I finally stopped by @sisi_tacos to try their food. The fact that I've driven by this place while they were open more times than I can count is criminal! @sisi_tacos was exceptional, and the vibes were immaculate. Amazing people serving phenomenal food, the best combo in the world! I love tripe, but I've never had menudo, and that was the special of the day, so I had to try it. Menudo is a traditional Mexican dish known for its rich, robust flavors. This bowl of heaven featured tender tripe stewed to perfection in a savory, chili-infused broth. The menudo was garnished with fresh cilantro, chopped onions, red pepper flakes, and a squeeze of lime, adding a zesty kick that had my taste buds in a frenzy. The menudo definitely had me a little emotional because it reminded me of my grandmother's cooking. This menudo will forever be a core memory for me, and the next time it's a special, I'm for sure going and getting some. I also tried the fish (ono) tacos, and they were INSANE! The sauce that came with the tacos was unlike anything I've ever had. I honestly don't know how to describe it, so you'll have to try it for yourselves. The fish they use is ono, and it is fried to perfection. Oh, and I had to try the fried plantains with steak, beans, and sour cream, a true Salvadorian classic. This dish was HOME for me. Between this and the menudo, I was very emotional This is what I call SOUL FOOD. Last but not least, I also got a steak quesadilla. Simple and delicious. Oh, and their SALSAS! Sweet lawd! Their red and green salsas are some of the best I've ever had. @sisi_tacos is open on weekends, Friday-Sunday, from 10 am - 5 pm, so PLEASE go and support them. This ʻohana is so full of aloha, and they have such a passion for food and community, and that undoubtedly comes through in their food. Not only is their food authentic, it's genuinely some of the best you'll find on the island. I am still in awe of my experience yesterday, and I can't wait to go back for more. When I return, I'm trying their birria, carnitas, and tlayulas. 16-1672 Keaʻau-Pāhoa Rd Check me out on Instagram for more foodie recs @bigislandfoodieandtraveler

Always good food, nice they have juice too. Happy for covered sitting area. Perfect location with other snack options in same parking area. Go there, use cash or card, be prepared to from some $$! But you'll have no regrets! Better then any Mexican restaurant in this side of the island 100% Wish they were open more and longer hours.

An unexpected stop off the side of the road turned into one of the best Mexican food experiences on our trip. We tried both the veggie quesadillas with cabbage and fish tacos. The veggie quesadillas were a highlight and we came back a second time just to get them again. This is a great stop on your drive!

I have always missed having a nice bowl of menudo on a cold day back at home but when I came across this business on instagram and yelp I knew I had to try it and I was so happy I did it tasted just like home but here in Hawai'i! Service was great the employees were very kind!

Had to get the fish tacos, because you are in Hawaii, the super burrito birria because why not. Was not disappointed on the other hand I was very pleased with my choices . I had to ask for extra pickle pepper , just needed the extra acid and heat. I also had the freshly made churros with cinnamon sugar. Crispy crunchy soft in the middle. Luck I had some vanilla ice cream in the freezer. Perfect match. Service was on spot . Pros: friendly/fast service, composite earth friendly containers. Cons: very bland food. Thankfully brought home and doctored up with everything Mexican we had...( onions, salsa, sour cream, hot sauce, Avocado, cilantro, even cheese!)!! Had we bought to take to eat elsewhere, we wouldn't have eaten sadly. No slow cooked authentic taste at all. Hubby had Carne Asada burrito grande, after first bite he said meat was like ground beef. He couldn't see any sour cream, cheese either so he wasn't happy having to put our own toppings on to make it enjoyable. My lengua quesadilla grande was supposed to have extra toppings inside as well but just got meat/cheese. Both meats very diced , and rice/beans also NO flavor, 22 bucks, sadly won't be back.

The food was tasteless and I don't appreciate when places try to get a double tip. Food options around the area are very limited, but I encourage tourists to take a chance and explore further. This place is a great convenience for people visiting Hawaii's Volcano National Parks and are starving after a long day of sightseeing. Unfortunately, I was very let down considering the great reviews it has online. This is a food truck, so as expected, the parking is extremely limited and there are only two picnic tables available if you choose to sit down and eat. The area is nice if you don't mind eating outdoors. When I went, there were only 2 people working in the truck. They were extremely nice and did warn us about waiting times. There was a long line of people so we had to wait about 25mins for our food. Honestly, this is not inherently a problem, but be ready to wait if it's busy. Now for the food and the reason I'm giving this place a low rating. I was allowed to mix the carnitas tacos and the chicken taco plate given that they're all the same price. The chicken had a nice spice to it, but every item on the dish was very bland. The rice felt dry, the refried beans felt like they were straight out of a can, and it could have all used some salt. But the big nono was that it appears they included a tip in their total before handing the machine over to you to add a tip and pay. Unless you tell me Hawaii's tax is close to 20% (which I know it's not), I find it very disrespectful when businesses do this to their customers.

Food takes a while, as they're just two people running the cart! I liked the birria tacos the most…read more The couple was so kind.
