The place was extremely clean for a place that I have seen packed all day. My waitress was an amazing young lady who took great care of me. She offered a couple recommendations which I ordered. I would come back if in the area and enjoy some more tasty tacos or burritos or bowls.

The restaurant easily accommodated us is a separate area that was near the restaurants and a long booth bench on pine side. Perfect for our four five and under. Our server Hannah was cheerful and knowledgeable and was an asset to our celebration. Our food and drinks were delicious. We got the margarita tower (twice). It is delicious and definitely a statement (And the bartender certainly has a great sense of humor)! We all had delicious food. I tried the Korean chicken bowl as a salad (I love that you can order rice or lettuce for the bowls). I tried avocado with ahi tuna appetizer and could easily make that a meal. If you think Asian/Mexican fusion is not a thing, think again. We will be back to the Carmel location as well as the Indy location. The "Df" in the name of this restaurant vexed me every time I saw it. Was it a sound? A typo? Then…read moreI visited Gil Tacos and thought I should actually look into it. It turns out Df is supposed to be D.F., capital D and capital F, as in Distrito Federal, the former name of Mexico City. So "Estilo D.F." means Mexico City-style. I've been trying to get Yelp to change the "Df" to "D.F." in the restaurant name, to no avail. So I had to write this little preface to appease the editor in me, and so that other people, who might also be wondering what Df means, knows what it means and how it's supposed to be spelled. Tacos! Gil Tacos specializes in tacos. They have a lot of tacos on their menu. This is the place to get those hardcore Mexican tacos, like lengua, tripe and cabeza. I am a softcore Mexican, so I opted for carnitas, al pastor and choriqueso. I got them Mexico City-style, which is with some diced onion and cilantro. The choriqueso was my favorite, and had a nice blob of cheese in it. The two pork tacos were a wee bit grisly and dry. Twice, I had to go up to the counter where the salsa was and douse my tacos in green chile salsa. The dry meat doesn't bother me as much as the gristle. I don't like fishing around in my mouth to pick out cartiledge. Salsa and chiles and things are at the front where you pick up your food. It's a communal thing. When you get your food, you can add salsa. That reminds me: You order at the counter, and they call your number. There's no table service. We also got a carne asada burrito, which I was told was excellent. Maybe I'll get a burrito the next time I visit, or a torta. But I had to get the tacos, because the word "tacos" is in this restaurant's name! How could I not? They have horchata and jamaica, and soft drinks in bottles and cans (like Mexican Coke). They also have beer in bottles.

It was frozen bland corn with lots of mayo. FYI- Will surcharge for credit card use.

I also called to remind them the day before the dinner. Several in our group ordered tacos and some ordered bowls. We all enjoyed the chips while waiting for our food. Our food came out reasonably quickly for a large group. Our waiter had some help serving our group, so we felt like the wait was not too long.

They gave me a generous portion, the protein amount made it well worth the $12. The salad was a bed of leafy lettuce for extra nutrition and topped with cherry tomatoes, pickled onions (key ingredient), queso fresco, one scoop of guac (only complaint-not enough for the size of the salad), pepitas and a citrus vinaigrette on the side. The dressing is delicious! It all was delicious!! I would get it again in a heartbeat but also would want to try others things in the menu as well. My friend got the Chicken in Chipotle bowl. She loved it as well. The portion did not look as large, but it was $12.50. This comes with rice and black beans with adobo chunked chicken and other toppings including a scoop of guac and the delicious pickled onions. Very happy with our choice of La Margarita inside of the Sun King Brewery. Check them out for sure!

I also opted for additional toppings - lettuce, sour cream and shredded cheese (Soy gringa!). While the Dasher was at the store, they advised me that the restaurant said it will take a little longer than expected and he apologized on their behalf. I'm not sure if it's customary for them to include chips and salsa with every order, but that was a pleasant surprise. My additional toppings were not added to the tacos but came served on the side. The portion sizes were generous for the lettuce, cheese and sour cream. The tacos themselves were flavorful with generous portions of tender meat, and everything tasted fresh. I demolished the rice and beans first. They were really good as well. I will gladly order for them again in the future.
