We love the Social Cantina in Carmel. It feels like vacation every time we visit there. I want to highlight our most recent visit when our family of 12 celebrated Father's Day. The restaurant easily accommodated us is a separate area that was near the restaurants and a long booth bench on pine side. Perfect for our four five and under. Our server Hannah was cheerful and knowledgeable and was an asset to our celebration. Our food and drinks were delicious. We got the margarita tower (twice). It is delicious and definitely a statement (And the bartender certainly has a great sense of humor)! We all had delicious food. I tried the Korean chicken bowl as a salad (I love that you can order rice or lettuce for the bowls). I tried avocado with ahi tuna appetizer and could easily make that a meal. If you think Asian/Mexican fusion is not a thing, think again. We will be back to the Carmel location as well as the Indy location. Sit indoors, sit outdoors and enjoy a great experience either with a larger party or family party or just a couple of you

We've been curious about social cantina ever since it opened. I took my mom here for a Mother's Day lunch without a reservation. I was shocked when it was barely busy. Our server was a nice girl, but extremely slow service. We had to ask for everything--straws, more water, more chips. She checked in on us maybe twice during our whole meal and didn't deliver our food. Food was pretty mediocre and had little to no seasoning. I'm still not 100% sure that the Margarita actually had alcohol in it as it was incredibly weak. The chips and dip flight is pretty cool in theory, but the queso and guac are the only dips that I would get. Everything else is just...meh. Your run of the mill Mexican joint at the corner will have better food and service than here. I would probably go somewhere else unless you're just looking for a cool vibe.

Just okay... stopped in for lunch and started with chips and salsa. I got the La Verde bowl and it was okay. It was a big portion for lunch. The cabbage had seen better days so I did not eat any of it. The chicken had a good seasoning on it. Our server was nice and quick. They have a nice patio area, we were able to sit outside and I liked that they had planters so you are not right on the sidewalk with people walking by.

Good food and a great patio. Loved the salsa selection for the chips. Staff were young and chipper.

The food was amazing! I ordered the stuffed avocado, which is listed as an appetizer. It was a full meal! I would return here just for that dish! My dining companion ordered the arroz con pollo and really liked it. Our server was friendly, but not overly attentive. Our dishes were never removed from the table, even after the bill was picked up. The location is great - nice to sit and watch so many people out and about!

Such a vibrant and fun spot! The decor really makes the whole experience feel lively, and the staff was so nice and welcoming. We ordered three drinks for the table, and unfortunately only one person truly loved theirs, which was a bit of a letdown. That said, I really appreciated the fun chips with Tajín, and the different salsas were so good. As a vegetarian, I was excited to see so many different options on the menu to choose from. I absolutely loved the fried mushroom taco, and the fried avocado taco was a very close second. I'd definitely love to come back and try more items!

We love Social Cantina! We love it for a casual night out where we can walk on the monon and grab a bite after. It's family friendly and the patio is dog friendly. My favorite taco is always the ahi taco, but I've enjoyed many others! My husband is obsessed with the birria tacos. I also love the blueberry basil margarita, or sometimes I'll do a flight. I will say, the flights can be a lot and overly sweet sometimes. We will continue to frequent here!

Service from Emily was fantastic! Ambiance was relaxed which was perfect for a bunch of friends wanting to catch up. We ate inside at a 6-top round table. The food was delicious. We ordered the nachos appetizer with Tinga chicken and chips and salsa to share. I had the La Verde bowl. Everything tasted delicious. Thanks for a great lunch!

The food was fresh, well-seasoned and full of flavor! The atmosphere made the experience even better. Definitely a nice place to grab some good food and drinks with friends!

Jon and his staff were amazing for my friend's birthday dinner. The drinks and food were fresh and the vibes were amazing! We will be back.

food is extremely mid. the burrito had so much rice and was extremely lacking in flavor. my bf got a carne asasa burrito and said the same thing. the chips and salsa flight was p good though (comes w queso, guac, and 2 salsas of your choice). fun to snack on while yapping with friends. the vibes here are def good, especially if you just need a place to chill with friends/socialize, but would not come here again for the food

Randomly stopped in here for what I thought was going to be a cool margarita to help offset the extremely hot day. Upon walking in, it felt like a total vibe. It was a Sunday late afternoon but it felt like a Mexican lounge. The music was ON POINT, the sun was shining in, the staff felt fun, you could tell the people that were there were having a great time. There were couples, girlfriends catching up, first dates (verified by a casual conversation), and solo just sitting in there enjoying a meal. So what I thought was going to just be a drink, quickly made me want to stay longer. We sat at the bar and ordered appetizers, drinks and two meals. All were fantastic. The chicken burrito was definitely my favorite, but the tacos weren't too shabby either. Our server made us feel very welcome and offered suggestions when we were torn on what exactly to order. The bill was a little over $100 with the tip but again that included the chips and salsa sampler, 2 meals and 2 drinks, and in Carmel, so I'd say not badly priced. They do have outdoor seating which is nice and street parking. We lucked up and found a parking spot near by, but not sure where you park if you didn't luck up on a spot.

I personally prefer the "patio" seating, which is covered/shaded, but it's so pretty when they pull the drapes up and you can look outside. This was our first time at 1933 Lounge. We are snobs when it comes to steaks and the way they are cooked. However, we were blown away at how good our steaks were. Each bite was perfectly seasoned, tender, and just melts in your mouth! I believe we ordered the USDA Prime Strip Steak and the Bone-in Dry Aged Ribeye with the Bearnaise sauce, but I feel like you can't go wrong with any of the steaks on their menu when it's cooked with such precision. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about all items on the menu. Per his recommendation, we ordered the St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail with their spicy, signature cocktail sauce and the Crème Corn Brulee. For starters, the Crème Corn Brulee was unlike anything we've ever tried. The crunchy, caramelized top coat and sweetness of the corn went so well with our savory steaks. It's an absolute MUST-TRY!!! But back to the St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail. WHY would you not warn people that the spicy signature sauce consists of freshly grated horseradish? We took the biggest freaking bite of the shrimp with a heaping amount of sauce and just about died. I didn't know what to do with myself in that moment. My eyes were watering and my nasal passages felt like they were burning off. The saltine crackers definitely helped, but I was questioning every life decision in that moment. If you are a first-timer, PLEASE order the sauce on the side. DON'T BE LIKE ME AND GO IN BLINDLY FOR A LARGE BITE! There should be a warning label on the menu lol. It took me a few minutes to recover. Lastly, the lobster bisque was divine. Espresso martini was 10/10. I think we will be back in the future, but next time we will skip on the St. Elmo Shrimp cocktail.

Our server, Justin, was attentive and helpful throughout the evening. My partner asked for wine pairing recommendations, and Justin suggested a Pinot Noir that paired well with the meal. I ordered the Lemon Drop Cocktail, which was refreshing and enjoyable. The food was excellent. I ordered the Steak Frites, and my partner ordered the Duck A L'Orange. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the duck breast was tender and flavorful. We also shared the lavender and wild berry cheesecake for dessert. It was a unique offering--the flavors were interesting, although it wasn't my personal favorite. My partner, however, enjoyed it quite a bit. The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful and elegant. My only complaint was the temperature inside the dining room. We dined indoors on a Saturday evening in mid-July when it was around 90 degrees outside, and the restaurant felt unusually warm and stuffy. I suspect there may have been an issue with the HVAC system, as there seemed to be very little air circulation. My partner was sweating throughout dinner. I'm usually someone who gets cold easily at restaurants and often brings a cardigan, so the fact that I found the temperature uncomfortable was surprising. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant and would happily return, assuming the HVAC issue has been resolved.

We went for a 3:00 show on a Sunday such that by the time we got out, it was 6:00-still early. It was in the 30's outside and already dark (thanks DLS time). Yet as we reached the top of the stairs to the lobby I was immediately disappointed that there was no fire lit in the fireplace. There were only three parties in the place. One was around the corner in the adjoining sitting area and may or may not have been drinking. There were two couples at the bar, where we considered also sitting. But the only empty spot for two had two dirty drink glasses from a previous patron still sitting. So we opted for the leather couch and chair in the main area just across from the bar. And that's where we waited, and waited, for almost 30 minutes, before giving up on getting served (or acknowledged). There was only one bartender, so we were fine with going up to order but communication would have been helpful. We stood at the bar while she chatted with the two couples, who'd all been served. We couldn't really figure out what she was doing as she seemed busy-ish yet wasn't serving, or clearing, or washing, and we were chatting between ourselves and didn't really give it much thought. Then she said she was out of something and was leaving the bar to go fetch it. We asked her to let us know when she was ready to serve us, and we took our seats to resume our conversation. The bartender returned after a while, and she served one of the original couples ... for another 10 minutes at least. Again we were talking so, while an irritation, it was in the background. About 50 minutes into our visit, she came over and took our drink order. This was my third or fourth visit, and I'd ordered my drink, an old fashioned, before and knew what to expect: bourbon of choice, Luxardo cherry, and a dehydrated orange slice. Ten minutes later we got our drinks. Now mind you, my friend ordered a glass of wine. Nothing time consuming about that. She noted that her pour was smaller than the other times she'd been there. Mine came with the whisky cube already on its way to melted, a broken (a.k.a. piece of) cherry and a twist. What? Where's my glorious little crunchy orange wheel of goodness? I had spied them on the bar earlier. No soup for me! Also, and I can't be sure 100% sure of this, but I tasted neither bitters nor syrup. Was this really just a bourbon rocks? It took a minute but we realized this gal cannot tend and talk at the same time. My friend commented that she had no idea what will happen when the place gets busy, as it has been every other time I've been there. We left after 8:00, after one drink, and for me, $21 lighter. Yeah, it's pricey. And the Carmichael crowd is a discriminating one. So we expected better. Much, much better.

Just kinda bland with not much going for so it, other than being cream cheesey. Unfortunately the chicharrones did not really add much to the experience. My boneless wings were also the same... Fine. Kinda bland. The dry rub doesn't actually stick to the breading, so it was just plain chunks of breaded chicken tenders with a little pile of seasoning sitting in the bottom of the basket. Especially since we had a long drawn out conversation about her inability to change the alcohol type in one of our drinks because it's premixed, you'd think she would remember. Sadly, no. I fully accept that this is a safe space for bourbon people and whiskey people. (I know: Bourbon is a type of whiskey! Just go with me here.) They have a literal wall of bourbon at The Broken Barrel. Pro tip: Look at the menu and see what they offer, but then walk up to the bar and look at the wall of whiskey and bourbon, and see what they have available that day. What they have available and what's on the menu can vary. You might see some goodies on the wall that aren't listed on the menu. If I'm not drinking wine, then I'm drinking gin. Luckily for me, there was a gin drink on the menu, so I got that: The New Gatsby, which is Hendrick's gin, St. Germain, cherry and lime, served in a tall glass with lots of ice. It was refreshing, but I kind of wish it had more gin in it! It was very sweet and light, and the perfect beverage for someone who likes light, sweet drinks.
