I don't often get any Mexican food on the Eastside since I just haven't found a good one yet. And sadly, I have to admit that I still have not found any worth the drive across the lake. I ordered one of their burritos, hefty pricing but that's what you'd expect on this side of town. Not the heftiest burrito though for its price, but filling enough. Taste wise it was as a Yelp 3 Star describes, "OK". I've had a lot of Mexican food across the whole West Coast, and this one isn't any special. But of course I will have to try again another day.

A pricey, yet worthwhile restaurant that's perfect for pre-date night!…read more I came here with the missus. in the early evening to grab some eats and get out of the house during a busy month. I seen this place recommended a few times and after going, I see why it's recommended. Food They do have a pretty solid selection of eats as well as an extensive drink menu. We didn't really know what to order and I'm also on a diet so I opted for the steak salad which honestly was probably one of the best steak salads I've ever eaten. You can't go wrong with their bowls either. Now the price of said items are a different story. Although the eats are what I would call extremely high-quality, they were definitely on the pricier side, as were the drinks. Service We were seated almost immediately, even though we had a reservation and our server was very engaged. Our water cups were never empty. I think we would've appreciated a little more small talk or chitchat, but it was kind of busy in there so I won't necessarily hold that against them. Ambiance The restaurant was way smaller than it looks online, and the seating was a little awkward. We were sitting on this bench thing, but there is some type of separator in between the missus and I. I'm sure we could've sat somewhere else but so it goes. I do believe that there is seating upstairs, but we did not go up there so I'm not sure. What I did love about this restaurant is that the natural light from the big windows made it feel warm, and the music and plants/vegetation really did make it feel like you were somewhere tropical. Loved that! Conclusion Overall, I give this place a 4/5 would recommend. This is easily one of the best fried calamari dishes in town and worth every penny. I wished the jalapeños had a bit more heat, but the flavor and texture were incredible. * Baja Chimi: The sauce on this was phenomenal--so good that next time I visit, I'm going to see if I can get this sauce on nachos instead of standard cheese! Mixed feeling: * Quesabirria Taco Plate: The consommé was rich, deeply flavorful, and great for dipping. However, the birria meat inside the tacos was on tougher side and chewy rather than tender, which held the dish back. The Misses: * Fish Ceviche: The biggest lowlight--the fish was surprisingly tough and missed the mark on texture. * Nachos with Carne Asada: Pretty underwhelming. Adding carne asada was a steep $10+ upcharge, yet the portion of meat was tiny and the overall flavor was bland.
