This is the best taco place I have found since I've moved!…read more I don't know how often I will come back here I don't know that it's that easy to find parking in this area. We walked from the hotel and ended up eating here twice! I had the extra cheesy volcan tacos they were so good I could smell how they tasted when I walked in. The carve asada was a little salty but it didn't stop me from devouring them! If you come in down the alley like we did you'll walk through what looks to be a little bar area walk-through there and then follow the signs to find the tacos. There were some people walking in with small children as we were walking out and they looked confused walking into the bar and I showed them just keep going you'll find the tacos and then they laughed. Everyone inside was nice and very friendly they run a super efficient operation and it's very clean. Soon as someone gets up somebody cleans the table because somebody's already waiting for a table. The whole thing is like an assembly line you get in line you order you get in line you get your food you walk around the corner and you get a table. Keep it moving people! This is just an amazing taco place with some amazing people highly recommend if you are in the area to go for it. The second time we came back and got more tacos to go and had to pay for parking around the corner so I don't know that it's convenient unless you're walking because parking was really expensive over there I think we paid $20 for 15 minutes.

We weren't even fully through day #2 and were already sick of BBQ. He broke the seal first and suggested Mexican. I found Taqueria De Diez in my bookmarks, and dinner plans were set. This was one of those meals where I was walking out with a pep in my step because I got exactly what I needed. I ordered a carne asada quesadilla + two tacos: Campechana and adobada. I don't even know what my favorite thing was. They were all excellent. The only slight miss were the beans, which were kind of oddly watery. But everything else was perfect, including the jamaica agua fresca. I ended up returning the next night and ordered a carne asada burrito. I didn't love it quite as much, but this is still an easy 5-star review for me. Note: this is not the easiest place to find. You literally have to walk in between some big, orange road blockers (is that what you call them?), to enter an alley. You then walk into a small bar, and then from there, you enter the actual restaurant. It's like a taco speakeasy, and it's glorious.

The chicken was shredded and could've used a little more seasoning for my taste. I'm also not a huge fan of lettuce in a burrito, so that may have played a part in it not being my favorite. That being said, I'm definitely coming back because those tacos were SO good. Next time, I want to give the burrito another shot and order it my way. If it's anything like the tacos, I have a feeling it'll be a winner.

It's not impressive enough for me to go out of my way to eat, but it's a really good choice if you're passing through already. They're also very quick to get the food out, and the seating area is outdoors but has fans in some spots.

TIP: They will ask corn or flour --- do flour. Everything is handmade, but those corn tortillas fall apart with all the sauce. Flour = durable and flavorful. I was fired from Taco Baby over a Facebook post that, not only did I not post, I had never heard of the person who did. After being told that I was friends (on Facebook) with this person, I proved that I was not and, while pleading my case about all of the help I had been helping get the truck up to code, I was told that I was "mansplaining" and was told to leave. The post that got me fired stated that, as per former employees, the owner of this truck doesn't pay out the tips received over the Point of Sale. Since I was terminated, I have asked everyday, save Saturday, about tips. Other than one message on Monday (7/27) stating that it would be sorted out when she "got back to her laptop," I've been ignored. When you tip at this business, the employees you are tipping are not receiving them. If you want good tacos, they're good. Knock yourself out. But if you want to support a local business that treats is employees properly and LEGALLY and helps uplift them, Taco Baby ain't it. We had Taco Baby cater our wedding in Wimberley. It was a blast! The tacos we choose were so delicious! I didn't get to try the Mahi-mahi tacos, which went fast and I heard they were great, but the carnitas and the veggie tacos were delicious. The guests loved them AND had fun with the 'buffet'! With the size wedding we had (about 80), it took just the right amount of time for a good meal and off we ran. Jamie was super helpful upfront in helping us decide which tacos to pick, the amount of food (order extra - as everybody will want more than you think!) and how to set it up best for what you want to happen. Delicious gourmet tacos made with fresh ingredients! I hired this food truck for my daughter's wedding at Mercury Hall in south Austin. Jamie was super nice and easy to work with, as was her staff. We chose four different tacos for our guests to select from, vegetable rice and beans, guacamole, queso, 3 different delicious salsas and chips. She arrived on time, got set up and ready and worked diligently to make sure everybody was happy. It was an excellent experience! read more

Love this place. I highly recommend the pork carnitas and the BBQ pork taco. So very tender and delicious. Their breakfast tacos are really great too. Madmartigan and the mad Frenchman are both excellent. Plus the food trailer park at SoLa Blue is BYOB, which is GREAT. The service is friendly and punctual, and their taco rewards system guarantees me a free taco for every 10 (or so) that I buy. read more

These tacos are AMAZING. Fat as hell, steaming hot and delicious. The owner (Jamie) actually slow cooks the pork carnitas herself! The staff is made up by energetic, beautiful women who love what they do. Its located in the back of the only sports bar on Rainey, and who doesn't love tacos and beer??? I recommend the white trash taco or the mad martigan!!!! read more

Was expensive during SX I guess most places are. The nachos weren't great the chicken wasn't fresh and the bacon was burnt. But the salsa were actually good. The portion was big but most of the chips were broken. Staff was very friendly though and appeared very clean. read more

Returned today and the restaurant has expanded into a larger, fancier space, and the tacos are exactly as delicious as I remember.
