I can't believe it took me this long to write a review considering this is my go to spot when it comes to heading on a date. I've been coming here for years and have thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, music, fireplace, fish tank, food, martinis, couches, pillows, Buddah sculptures, bathroom, you name it. Guaranteed love connection and a follow up phone call after this place (mostly based on the fact that it's pitch black in here) so don't kill it on date #2 by going somewhere else. I wonder what happened to the European belly dancers who really made their flat muscular abs ripple? If you're curious about what goes on in the private room with the curtain bring a party of 25 to find out. read more

The place is quiet and beautiful, However, hookah is about nothing.Food is good but too expensive.

If you are on a date with someone extremely ugly, THIS is the place for you, its so dark inside that you can't see anything, including who you are with, the drinks are pretty strong so any possible shadow of the fugly date can be photoshopped with the power of alcohol. For a Brooklyn hole in the wall lounge this place is overpriced... The Sushi isn't bad, but def not good enough to pay $15 per roll for. Service is not too great, considering u can't see the waitress to call her over. Also they have a bit of an attitude when serving you, which leads me to a question of, who's paying who $$ for being there?? Anyway my suggestion is go somewhere else, take a ride to Williamsburg or something, but if you do end up at this joint, bring a flashlight, that might make it a tad easier not to fall. read more

The waitress asked us for id before we paid for some reason. After we drank and are. That was weird. They charged us $3 for 1 oz of milk for our 1 cup of coffee. Just weird. read more

Nice hookah bar with really relaxing music and good service. Very romantic). Excellent place to go on a date

Tabu is by far my favorite hookah place. Its cozy, fun & delicious. I often find myself thinking about the amazing sushi rolls, I've had here, for days after. The martini varieties are limitless, seriously! Apricot, Cherry, Lemon, Lychee, Blackberry, Melon, Guava, Espresso, Strawberry! They are all amazing! Even the standard dirty martini is one of the best I've ever had. Be prepared to spend $100 a person - this place is def not cheap, but worth it. read more

My experience was great! I came with three other friends, and we were able to get the little den room all the way in the back. We had a really such a great time tucked away from everyone in our own little cove. I really don't think I would have enjoyed sitting on the ottomans up on the main floor. The tables and little ottoman type seats they seemed so on top of each other and looked a little uncomfortable. I liked the fishtanks on the wall walking to the back. Our drinks were yummy and our waitress was pleasant. This was the first time I've ever tried hookah, and I actually liked it. The milk flavor was very smooth, and I think I even got a little buzzed from the hookah.. read more

The place itself has a Very cozy atmosphere couches and a real fireplace. It is good for hookah drinks and coffee/ tea The food is okay.

Very cozy, especially in the winter time! First time visited in 2011 for a date!!! Love the place!

Oh Tabu, what can I say, we have been friends for a very long time :) I grew up in Bensonhurst, so Hookah lounges were at the top of our entertainment list for the weekend. Tabu offers a cozy vibe, dimmed lighting and sunken sofas. For many patrons it has become a prominent first date location. What puts Tabu above other hookah locations, is hands down their sushi. I would often pass on the actual sushi restaurant and come here to dine instead. Of course you will also find your standard hookah selection with a variety of flavor options and a solid cocktail list to go with it. Since I moved out of the neighborhood don't go here as much anymore. However my recent visit was a very pleasant blast from the past. All in all if you are in the area definitely worth stopping by. read more

This place is so good. The sushi is excellent. One of my friend's is russian and grew up around here. I didnt know anyone. The coni salad is so good. The hookah is very good as well, so are the drinks. The ambiance is great, really dark and dimmed. We both enjoyed it. read more

This is one of the best hidden gems in this area of Brooklyn. Whether it's atmosphere you're looking for or great food this place doesn't disappoint. Order one of their many martinis or the Russian dream roll for a late night treat. read more

Great sushi, a little overpriced, but really good and filling just one roll is enough ( well for me personally) Drinks are great and hookah is great, really cozy nice spot for a girls night out or date. read more

I was originally going to give this place a one or two, mainly because one waitress has such snarky attitude, and the private room was overwhelmingly hot, so me and my guests moved to a regular table, which the waitresses did not mind at all. However, the drinks and food and hookah were amazing, and i lost my ID but I called and they found it there and kept it for me to go back and get it the next day. read more

Ambience is great!!!...An assortment of hookahs to choose from.I ordered sushi and that was good but I came on a full belly so I never finished. I def will go back again read more

Very nice inside and the Tabu martini was the best drink I've ever had. The experience was extra good cause my date wanted to make out (!)

Over charge!!! Over charge!!! Over charge!!! Never again. How about $180 for two cappuccino, two tiramisu, double cognac and a drink?!?!?!? Make sure you tell "No speaka English" waitress not to bring you Louis XIII cognac... if you don't they will give it to you and will cost you an arm and a leg... Good luck PS The interior is very nice read more

I love this place - one complaint.. really $20 for a hookah on water and $35 for one on milk? Where are you buying your milk that it's so expensive?! Otherwise the atmosphere is everything you could want in a hookah place - background music, pretty dark, I love the relaxing fish tank. The music is just right so you can hear it but can still have a conversation. The food is over priced like crazy - $4 for water?! it's just nuts - I buy my own bottle of water at the deli across the street. read more

Nice place for night date, warm and cozy, with fireplace - luv that!. Ooverpriced. 2 cups of tea = $12 + tips. Waitress was nice and fast though. will certainly come back. Btw the min charge on your card is $25, so get some cash ready. read more

the place tries hard to be a city-style hippy location: serves hookah, exotic sushi, plays Buddha Bar style music, and makes waitresses wear long skirts. The waitresses are the regular, no-customer-service-friendly attitude type. I also love the guy who sits at the front supposedly checking IDs, but really spends most time sleeping (did not bother to check mine). Oh the last straw - the prices! Too high! Way too high! read more

Its my favorite lounge))) very cozy and cool music! Very good service, especially the bartender guy!

I live in Jersey, and when I come to Brooklyn I always stop by here. They have fireplace.Very cozy lounge where you can relax, drink and eat some sushi. About sushi...I would highly recommend "valentine roll".So delicious! Staff are friendly and kind. read more

Dear people it is not about overpriced drinks. They just put one price in the menu and then charge you another price. They are saying that they use Absolute vodka for cocktails and then using some cheap vodka to make you drunk. They have cheap attitude toward the customers and I am ashamed for Russians who is doing business this way. That was my fist and last time in that place. read more

The best sushi and sashimi I have ever tried! My favorite is the Valentine roll and white tuna and octopus sashimi. Also they have very delicious apple and lychee martinis. Bartenders Vadim and Tatiyana are very friendly and nice! Love the atmosphere of Buda bar , nice relaxing music. read more

Tabu Lounge - Hookah Bars Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

This place is a good spot for two reasons: delicious drinks and it's open till late every single day :) Also the hookah is good. Food selection is not too impressive. Sushi is ok. read more

Best hookahs in Brooklyn. Amazing cocktails and fantastic food. Vadim u the man!!!!!!

It's dark and relaxing there. I'm not a big fan of sushi they make there it's either spicy or crunchy. I go there sometimes to have a drink with some appetizers and smoke hookah cz they are open till 4am. They have nice decor, good background music and 2 fire places. Cons: everything is overpriced, tables are too close to each other so if you wanna sit on the couch together and somebody else is at the next table, be prepared that person's ass will be right next to yours. Service is really bad too(slow with an attitude) read more

Great hookahs and delicious sushi! Definetely recommend it to all the community! Will be back for more read more

Tabu Lounge - Hookah Bars Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

The worst service ever! Waited 40 min for 4 drinks. Disgusting! Nasty! I won't recommend this place to anyone!

The decoration is great its a hidden spot. Super dark at night, perfect for a date or intimate atmosphere. I tried only the passion fruit martini and it was really good, tangy but its ok I hate sweet drinks. But here is the issue, the server a russian girl who barely spoke English was extremely rude. My friend took out a chocolate (which they dont sell obviously) and she told him he could not eat it there. Fine, he put it back inside the plastic bag. She came back again and said "remove it, you cant have it here". So where was he supposed to put the chocolate? Doesn't she knows men dont usually carry purses? Then, we asked for a replacement charcoal for our hookah and she said it is $2.00. I have never ever seen a hookah bar that charges to replace the charcoal. She gave us a horrible attitude all night, and at the end the tip was included in our bill and it was like 20%. So undeserved. We were very angry with the service. Even though the place is cool, and their products are good, the service makes me never want to come back. read more

love this place - food is good (sushi fusion), although overpriced (so I tend to eat else where and come for hookah and drinks! - try the MANGO martini!!) very eastern European crowd - good space. dark - great for dates. if you have 6 people or more, you can get the private room (if available) and Friday and Saturday nights there is a belly dancer. bright blue fish tank in the wall - can't miss it. and big golden Buddha is the focal point of the main room. Good space. read more

The waitress was really nice but never replaced our coal for the hookah. My boyfriend and I had the water jasmine hookah, it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. You can't see anything in there....our drinks and food were horrible. I have no clue how it got such good reviews. When the yelper said to bring a flashlight, she wasn't joking. read more

Hookah was harsh and the waiters were rude. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Plenty of better alternatives for a hookah lounge in Brooklyn. Too bad they don't care about customer service, really shameful. read more

Went there on Valentine's day with my GF. Place was packed, so we decide to stay...Got a few drinks, bartender was polite, and his pouring is pretty good. As food we got appetizer of Calamari, which is coming with awesome house made sauce....Good place for a date. read more

I have to admit I've been there a while ago. They had great sushi and good drinks. I love the atmosphere and the decor. However, we had a problem with a watress, who pretended she did not hear us even though we were nice and then all of a sudden decided not to serve us i guess keeping in mind that the guy i was with did not give her an extra tip last time we were there besides the one that was already included in the bill. These people just don't bother and give attitude whenever they feel like. read more

great atmosphere, love the decor and the food is awesome.. drinks were refreshing and hit the spot plus the price is right. you can't go wrong here.. read more
