Glazed pork chop
Jim R.

A lovely restaurant with delicious inspired food, unfortunately we were there at the height of spring break so one large group with 6 unruly kids put a bit of a damper on the evening for the vast majority of adult diners. Food wise, we enjoyed the truffle croquettes a lot and the whiskey pork chop was tender and luscious. There's an ok wine list and a variety of specialty cocktails. Our server, whose name I don't get (on the short side with long pony tail) did a wonderful job despite having a lot of tables .

Delicious drinks! Scrumptious appetizers! Highly recommend the goat cheese risotto croquettes and the prawn polenta appetizers. Braised beef with mashed potatoes was outstanding. The chocolate soufflé to finish was the perfect end.

Ahi special

Everything was lovely. Food was delicious. Service was great. I don't understand why but the restaurant was fairly empty. I've been visiting the island for 20 years and was nice to visit a new restaurant other than the older places that never update their menu and are very loud.

Pineapple whisky pork chop. Ate all the taters and gravy and took 1/2 the pork chop home for ramen.

First-class service from our server and bartender. The food was top-notch (see photos). We arrived before our reservation for the 5:00 first seating and sat at the bar where Elissa made us awesome happy hour Mai Tais. (Thursday is all day happy hour in the bar!) The hostess found us at 5 and seated us at a comfy booth. Our wonderful server Jenny took over from there. She was friendly, attentive and gave us all the time needed to enjoy a birthday celebration. I loved the French Onion Soup, my partner had the classic Caesar salad. We both relished the pork chop and chicken marsala. We finished with the Mint chocolate pie. Highly recommended!

I recently visited the Table at Poipu with my parents for dinner on our last night of being on Kauai. We have eating challenges ( gluten free (celiac), dairy allergy and egg allergy). Upon dining, we looked at their menu and it was labeled very well. When we went in, it was not what i was expecting from what i assumed was a high end restaurant. I just do not think booths screams fancy. I took a star off for that. Our waiter was so nice, but seemed nervous and not knowledgeable about the menu and how things are prepared but grateful he went and checked with the chef. However, we thought it was weird to be out of Parmesan cheese that night which was fine but strange. My mom who has milk, egg and gluten ( celiac) allergy ordered the house salad with no egg and the seafood risotto without cheese (which didnt matter because they were out of it). She said their goat cheese tasted like feta and got nervous and pulled it off her plate. My dad who is gluten intolerant ordered the beet salad and pork chops. He said it was okay not the best and a tad bit overcooked. I ordered a caesar salad ( that was untossed for some reason, but maybe because I ordered it gluten free as i am celiac) and the fish of the day that has the macademia sauce and lilikoi burreu blanc sauce. I believe it was a swordfish that night and i could not make any of the flavors from the sauces on it and the fish was fishy that it was hard to eat. Green beans were so overcooked but mashed potatoes were good. We looked at the dessert menu and the one thing i wanted, i thought was label gluten free was not and not interested in the other. I took 2 stars off for the food. The food was okay but i do not think we will be back on any future trips to kauai.

Chicken Marsala with polenta

I had a wonderful experience dining here about a month ago! It was the most reasonably priced fancy-ish restaurant in the neighborhood (except for maybe La Spezia). I believe I saw somewhere that it's a popup? I never would have known--the interior was classy and felt very permanent. I tried the goat cheese truffle croquettes, and they were pretty good (but not amazing). The Asian wings were the best I have ever had though, and the chicken Marsala with polenta was incredible! Our server was kind and attentive, and I have nothing bad to say about my experience.

Get the pork chops. So good. Tender and flavorful and something unique. French onion soup was ok. I thought it was a little bland but it wasn't horrible. Little haupia tart dessert was a perfect ending. 4 of them in an order. Very refreshing and tasty. Service at the bar tables was great. Very friendly and helpful. Dining room looked a little more formal. But still everyone looked like resort casual. It's located upstairs by the upstairs bathrooms. Had a nice table by the window in the bar area. Reservations on OpenTable. Just check what days they are closed before you go out Only thing I found odd was they have a credit card fee but the way they characterize it is odd to me. But I think their point is that they don't profit from it.

The braised beef- the sauce is delicious

We went to The Table twice on our family vacation in Poipu. The first time four of us went for dinner and the very friendly Jenny was our server. My son in law liked it so much that we decided to go again on the night before our departure for happy hour. Jessa was the happy hour server/bartender. She was very efficient and welcoming. The restaurant is large, clean and has an upscale bar area. Dinner: The pork chops had a delicious glaze on top, the braised beef also came in a delicious sauce. Happy hour: we got the artichoke dip and the asian chicken wings - definitely recommend. Cocktails: Unique choices and great tasting!

We had reservations for 6:15 on a Saturday via OpenTable and it was our first time dining here. We highly recommend you consider dining here for your next special occasion or date night. Table at Poipu is a very nice restaurant, definitely on the fine dining spectrum for Kauai. The server, Bailee was very nice she immediately recognized and acknowledged that my wife and I were local guests. She took the time to make small talk and made it feel personal. When taking our appetizer plates she jokingly said "wow someone must be in the industry because you stacked the plates and silverware" which is something my wife and do but that was the first time someone acknowledged it, and yes my wife used to work in a restaurant. The food was amazing we started off with the bacon wrapped scallops and the mushroom risotto goat cheese croquettes. Which were very delicious and decently portioned for the two of us. For our entrees my wife had the blackened fresh catch and I had the ribeye, which had more than enough meat that I couldn't finish it. For dessert we shared the Lilikoi Crème Brûlée which was delicious, we wish we could have more but we were full. We give the Table at Poipu 5/5 stars for the service, food, ambiance and overall experience!

Wonderful dinner and great service! What a find! The menu is original, good food and fresh local ingredients. The drinks were perfect!

Mai tai - very good!

We went for happy hour, and it was half off drinks! I got the Mai tai which was probably the best I had on the island, and my boyfriend got a beer that was about $3.50 with the discount. Great deals!!

Chicken wings in a siracha glaze. Very good and not too spicy.

Very much enjoyed our dinner here not long after arriving in the Poipu Beach area. Restaurant is upstairs in a small outdoor mall. It's pleasantly decorated and had a quiet vibe. Server was very pleasant. Drinks were good. We split some siracha fried chicken wings, a Caesar salad, and a Mahi Mahi fish dinner with a macadamia nut flavor. Prices were within reason for a nicely prepared dinner. Exceeded my expectations overall.

(Drank 04/24/26 FR @ 8:30pm): Please... no dangerous lava on beautiful Poipu Beach while I imbibed!…read more I decided to have a nightcap (or two!) at Lava's On Poipu Beach, on the ocean side of the Sheraton Kaua'i Resort Villas. It was time to wind down my first night here, but I also wanted to try one of only two bars/restaurants on the property during my limited time. Whenever I stayed at a hotel, I always wanted to try any onsite restaurants with hopes of getting a well-rounded experience. They offered breakfast (7am-11am), lunch (11am-5pm), dinner (5pm-9pm), and drinks (all day and a daily Happy Hour 2pm-3pm). They even delivered to your room if you were feeling lazy or not well. Would I order a themed cocktail such as a lava flow, or something else while I lazed steps away from Poipu Beach!? PURCHASE(S) Poipu Paniolo Cocktail ($18.00): Made with cranberry juice, lemon juice, ginger ale, simple syrup, Buffalo Trace bourbon whiskey, this was an effervescent fruity sweet elixir with a kiss of harshness from the whiskey. It kind of fit the tropical scene perfectly. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=120&select=aKkFSUKzr9qUdfys24MTqQ Koholā Brewery Lahaina Haze NEIPA Beer 16floz Draft ($8.50): Hazy rich orange color, citrus hoppy aroma, light body, citrusy hoppy flavor, slight mouthfeel smooth finish, and minimal citrus hoppy aftertaste. An easy hazy to enjoy! SERVICE One busy friendly woman managed the drinking degenerates at this "late" time of night (everything closed early on Kaua'i) before they closed-up in about 30 minutes. I quickly scanned the drink menu for my first victim, ordered that, and once last-call was made, I placed a final order. Each time, I was able to watch my drinks be prepared and gracefully ready. Everything was straightforward, and she did a wonderful job filling the orders, cleaning her station, and getting us out of the bar - mahalo! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance) I had no vehicle, so I simply walked from my room. However, there was a nightly $40.00 fee for guests if they parked on the property, and there might've been some free parking along the many nearby roads and streets. Make sure to carefully read any posted signs. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A airy clean modern spacious layout with plenty of dining tables that offered awesome views of the ocean, while the central rotund bar https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=120&select=JznsI9DUMC7qF-INilvxyw was where I found myself on this night among other revelers. Plenty of natural lighting everywhere while numerous electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were several TVs all around the bar area but couldn't recall any background music since I was chatting with fellow strangers. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Wrapping up the night with a couple of drinks at Lava's On Poipu Beach was pleasant, soothing, and I would love to return to actually try their food which looked and smelled amazing when I was in the area beaching. I enjoyed my drinks, they surprisingly weren't overly priced, the views were not to be missed during the daytime, and the service was on-point and very professional. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $28.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

The first time we spent just over $100 for a family of 5, and last night we got out of there for $88. That is a feat in this part of town! The happy hour is unbeatable. $7 drinks and 25 cent wings. Note that you have to have minimum two drinks per person, but they don't have to be alcoholic--we got a cocktail as our first and soda water as the second. The cocktails are quite large, so you can still get the $7 price if you order a soda or sparkling water as your second drink. The waitress was super helpful and let us know that last night! We went for taco Tuesday yesterday and the tacos were $1 each! They were good--not insane but great for the price and hit the spot. The service is great and the food and drinks come out quickly despite being busy. The drinks are standard fare, nothing crazy delicious, but for the price it's great. The food is all yummy. The first thing I'll mention is the variety. There were approximately 10 hot food items on their main hot food table with options ranging from kalua pork hash, to frittata, to mango mahi. Plus they switched out all options each day to make sure the buffet wasn't repetitive. The quality of these items was generally great. But they had much more beyond the main hot food table. The fresh juice shots were always a highlight for us. Also the pancakes/french toast bar, which always had a good local twist like taro or ube mixed in. And make sure to dig into the fresh fruit spread. They have good sweet baked goods as well, but I think the bread/bagel cabinet is the only miss at this buffet. The bread options just weren't good quality. I still give 5 stars, because even without freshly baked breads, we still had a plethora excellent options.
