    Nene tracks in waffle bowl
    Rachel E.

This ice cream spot isn't bad. They have a variety of flavors. My husband chose the Nene tracks which has a mix of caramel and chocolate things, it is good if you can't decide what you want. The ice cream flavor I was most interested in, the Kona chocolate chip, was already out for the day. I was able to sample it, but they didn't have enough for a full school. This was around two or three p.m. so it's a bummer they ran out so early. I got the ice cream in a waffle bowl but the waffle bowl was just okay. I could skip it next time. While the prices are definitely on the higher side compared to the mainland, you can always get a Keke scoop which is less ice cream in a bowl. But you're probably on vacation, so why would you want to watch the calories? Hehe. They also had Maui Brewing root beer which is very hard to find in Kauai. So my husband was excited.

Stopped by for visit to give them a try. Was impressed with some of the unique flavor options. They have passion fruit and macadamia nut. Just didn't think the ice cream was all that great. Trader Joe's ice cream is better!

Forever a favorite when visiting! Always with the best locally made ice creams, coffees are delish, and baked goods are amazing! The location in Poipu is small, but there is ample seating outside and the line moves quick! Stop in and sample, you'll leave with a treat no matter what!

    Gingerbread women!!!!

We came in to get away from the rain and ended up with an Americano, mint chocolate ice cream and a very cute gingerbread lady! The coffee was good but I found the water to espresso ratio was off for my liking. The ice cream was delicious!!! So so good and they had so many fun local flavours I wish I was in the ice cream mood so I could try more! The gingerbread lady was soooooo cute and according to my partner who is a gingerbread cookie connoisseur it was delicious- your classic well spiced cookie that was still soft! Service was very friendly!!! Would definitely recommend!!

Heavenly Hana & Aunt Lilikoi's Passionfruit with Ube Haupia
    Luis M.

The inside of this ice cream shop looks really nice. The way the decor is set up was more reminiscent of a nice coffee shop than an ice cream parlor. Not that that's a bad thing. They had a pretty wide array of flavors, of which I opted for the Heavenly Hana, which had everything I was looking for: Dark chocolate ice cream, marshmallow swirls, chocolate roasted almonds, white chocolate mac nuts, and sea salt. I felt a bit bad since normally I get things so I can share them with my girlfriend, but I could not pass this up. I thoroughly enjoyed my ice cream. Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said for her. She opted for Aunt Lilikoi's Passion Fruit and Ube Haupia. She wasn't a big fan of what she got, and after tasting it, I could see why, both flavors were definitely on the sweeter side. The Ube Haupia lacked ube flavor (had more than enough sweetness to it, though). It feels like Lappert's definitely has potential, but how enjoyable the ice cream is depends on what ice cream one gets! Overall a 3/5 ice cream experience.

    Paniolo Cookie (SO GOOD!!)
    Madeleine B.

Great ice cream, great coffee, and put together, great affogato! Their cones are crunchy and tasty. I got their paniolo cookie which was 10/10, lightly crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, perfect balance of ingredients, highly recommend.

Yummm! Lappert's is a local Kaua'i favorite and the ice cream is delicious. I got to chat with the chef and you can tell he pours love into creating really unique flavors. They've got multiple dairy free options that are surprisingly creamy and so good! Definitely stop here for a scoop or two when you're on island

Lappert's is life. The taste of Kauai. Mana from Hawaii Heaven. Must stop every day.

First time at Lappert's as my dad said this was a must try. I tend to go more for sorbets over ice cream based on my dietary restrictions, so I got the Ube Haupia and Auntie Lilikoi's Passion Fruit. The colors were beautiful! Unfortunately, they were both on the sweeter side. While the lilikoi was packed with flavor, the ube was an extremely subtle flavor. I don't think I would be able to guess what it's supposed to be had I not known. However, my guy got the Heavenly Hana and he loved it! I didn't try it because of the marshmallow, but his reaction definitely made me feel like I just got the wrong flavors. I really wish we had been able to try them beforehand.

Love this place especially after a long day at the beach. Their Kona coffee is fire! Great location and service!

Very tasty and creamy local ice cream. The Kauai pie was a great dessert! It hit the spot :) See you next time! Mahalo

Great tasting and ice cream near Poipu. A bit overpriced - 2 doubles and 1 single waffle was $40.

It's really cool to see such a niche coffee roaster show up on the most niche island in Hawaii! It's located smack dab in the middle of Old Koloa Town, and it was the perfect place to start our day! We came pretty early after opening, and there were just a few souls in sight. The people working the bar were great, and we promptly ordered and got our drinks. There's plenty of seating, both inside and out, so that was a huge plus! I ordered a haupia foam cold brew, and my friend got a standard cold brew. Both were great, and the haupia foam was light and sweet. I only wish I got a larger size! Coconut, cream, and roasty flavors emanated from my drink, making every sip pretty punchy. My friend was saying how he thinks Hawaiian cold brew, in general, is on the lighter side (in dilution, not in roast). I tend to agree. But, that gives a lot of room to flavor or really just deliver a lot of volume in your drink. Overall, this was a super refreshing thing to have not only in the morning, but also in general on Kauai!

I ordered a hot matcha latte with oat milk, and the matcha already comes pre-sweetened per the barista. It tastes very similar to Starbucks matcha, not horrible but not great either. A little too sweet for my liking and not enough of the matcha flavor comes through. The color also wasn't the correct shade of green for good quality matcha, but I'm someone who likes to make my matcha at home and rarely find ones at coffee shops that I actually like, so take my review with that in mind, if you're a casual matcha drinking then you would like their version. It doesn't dry your tongue out or have a bitter taste. The following day I decided to try their coffee and ordered a hot vanilla oat milk latte. It was just okay, the espresso is a little more on the acidic side and I couldn't taste any vanilla flavor. Definitely not the worst latte I've had in Hawaii, but for the cost of lattes nowadays, I wouldn't come back to try more of their menu until I try other local coffee shops first. Pros: Plenty of parking right out front, good amount of seating inside, clean bathrooms, wifi, they sell their coffee beans and merchandise including shirts and hats which are super cute, there is also a small shop inside the same building that sells clothing/candles/bags/etc and the store employee is super nice

The milkshake was blended to perfection, tasting like banana heaven with subtle notes of nuttiness. I truly enjoyed it. The inside of the shop was vibrant and colorful. In addition to the treats offered at the counter, there were plenty of products available for purchase, such as pancake mix, coconut syrup, coffee, cookies, nuts, and more. There were two employees assisting all of the guests. There was a bit of a wait; however, they kept the line moving fairly quickly and maintained a pleasant disposition while serving customers. All in all, I highly recommend stopping by Mango's for delectable sweet treats while exploring Kōloa.

If you knew me, I loved all-things mangos, so this was a no-brainer to check it out. A family-owned business that opened in 2022, they served shave ice, ice cream, homemade desserts, Dole Whip, and fun souvenirs. How would my shave ice experience be, and did they have mango flavor!? PURCHASE(S) Small Shave Ice Mango & Watermelon + Additional Flavor Coconut ($8.95 + $0.75): A decent portion size, this was as fluffy as you would come to expect from any shave ice purchased on any of the Hawaiian Islands (the fluffier the better, please!). The three tropical flavors I selected paired perfectly. Not overly sweet, they each had their own distinct taste. As I rapidly tried to eat this frozen treat so it wouldn't melt and make a mess, I wished it came with a funnel skirt or platform to catch everything (Matsumoto had something to this effect which was a wonderful idea). Regardless, with brief bouts of brain-freeze, this was a nice way to end my day in Old Koloa Town. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=144&select=AGCmC1dKOuMUr2QlwEY0kg Cinnamon Toast Cake Slice ($5.95): This simply looked amazing as it sat in the display case, so I had to take one for later. Once I got into it the next morning for breakfast, it was still fluffy, light, and moist with all of the goodness of cinnamon toast crunch cereal, and the creamy thick layer of frosting was truly the icing on the cake. I wished I had another for later! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=120&select=AhMBmjk9xwxIcLxzWMrihg SERVICE Warmly greeted by two friendly young women behind the counter, I was able to browse the menu while they helped the group ahead of me. Once it was my turn, I knew what I wanted, easily placed my order, I soothingly watched one of them craft my shave ice while the other packaged my cake and rang me up. Minutes later, I was at an outside table with my prized possession - easy-peasy! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance): I took the bus, so this wasn't an issue for me. Otherwise, there appeared to be some onsite parking with spots along the main drag of Koloa Rd. and other side streets - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A brightly-painted interior that bursted with the sense of a candy store but actually an ice cream parlor, a dessert shop, and random plushies and toys was what you walked into. Simple easily legible menus of the types of treats, flavors, and prices were hung on the wall behind the counter https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=144&select=X93KwvmR6ASMbyyYSSJJTw while several racks throughout displayed other anthemic local souvenirs. A decent amount of natural lighting came in through the front doors and windows while an assortment of electric recessed and track ceiling lights filled in the rest. There weren't any TVs, but pop music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=144&select=1ZNTy-MJlQQvT5uUy6BwMw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I enjoyed my time and treats at Mango's and would consider another return if I were in the area and wanted a dessert. The menu options and flavors were very limited, the prices a bit elevated (except for the cake), and the service was easy and straightforward. Plus, I always loved to try and support small local mom & pop businesses. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $16.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS
