Table 26 is a welcomed addition to the dining scene in Turlock. Their menu offers a great selection of Central Valley traditional favorites and locally procured ingredients. Despite Table 26's excellent culinary experience, their service unfortunately is in need of desperate repair. On the heels of enjoyable fist visit we decided to return... We waited over an hour for a table among a sea of empty tables and waited on by a detached server more interested in schmoozing than doing his/her job. I ordered the beef stroganoff. As tantalizing as the menu description was the experience was quite the contrary. The dish offered a single shred of beef (a single SHRED) of beef. More appropriately named: "penne pasta drowning in wine flavored beef broth." Since then we went back and avoided the crazy wait by sitting in the bar. I ordered the soy pork chops and throughly enjoyed it. Tonight I was craving the pork chops and attempted to call in the order for pick up. After the 4th attempt to get connected with someone who knew what they were doing--I gave up. Although we enjoy the food, Table 26 offers incredibly inconsistent food and unprofessional service. This is unfortunate and I hope they can make the needed changes--otherwise I will begin to believe that that property is truely cursed (residents know about the myriad amount of failed restaurants at this address). read more

Five stars for the house manager!! (?) - I think she was the house manager, but I never got her title - regardless, she classy, pleasant, and because of her I will give them a second chance in the near future. Here is how our story unfolds - As the three of us were seated we requested a booster seat for our daughter; hostess forgot to bring it, had to ask another staff member. When our waitress came over to introduce herself and great us, she was pleasant, timely but not overly bothersome....and she really tried overall to provide us with good service. The disappointment was how my steak was cooked. It was a nice size steak for the price point (really!), more than an inch thick, but I ordered it cooked 'medium' and it came out still bleeding with a serious sear on the outside. IMHO, low and slow is best for thick cut pieces of beef unless you are going to butterfly them. Waitress offered to have it returned to the kitchen, I politely declined (personal rule, I never return the food I plan to eat) but told her I planned to take it home and cook it up for lunch the next day so, no worries really. She must have relayed this to the house manager who came over and offered again to fix it. When I declined, she immediately offered to remove it from our bill. I let her know I wanted the hunk of meat to go still and she said no problem, and still removed my entree form our bill - I count that as good service and excellent management! Ordered a Jack Daniels steak plate and my friend had noticed that my meat was more of a well-done than a medium well-done. We told our server, and she took my plate back to the kitchen in order to fix the problem by serving me a whole new plate! On top of that, she told me that I didn't have to worry about my bill!!!! My server was Ashley and she was so kind and accommodating. I ordered a medium rib eye steak. It came out medium well but I was fine with it because it was so tender. Then the server came back to my table and said that she noticed that it was a little well done. She said she was going to bring me another steak. She made my dining experience so welcoming. I had such high hopes for this restaurant. The chicken was incredibly dry and bland. The noodles were far to over cooked. My boyfriends table 26 burger was edible but not worth the price. I ordered a seven dollar sangria and got a cup of ice with a few pieces fruit. All and all, I probably won't be coming back. read more

I can only give this restaurant two stars because the ahi tuna nachos we got were really good. It was not busy at all when we went in the late afternoon & the service was meh, not good. My wife wanted another glass of wine or a mixed drink & I was longing to see our waitress stop by to get me a refill on my drink too but that never happened. Not until the waitress finally walked by we asked for the check, she then asked if we wanted a drink refill. Smh. Now the food, I had the cioppino and while it had good flavor it was not worth the $32 I paid. Come one Table 26 1 shrimp just 1 shrimp in the entire dam bowl!! 3 calamari rings, 3 pieces of fish, 1 which was a severely over cooked piece of tuna, (not traditionally used in authentic cioppino), yes I counted every piece of protein. 2 clams, 2 mussels, and 1 claw of dungeness crab. The 3 pieces of fish were the size of small little ice cubes so it's not like they were big pieces. Our total tab was $80 + tip, which I would of tipped 20-25% if the service was good but I ended up leaving just $10 since I know waitresses make there money in tips. I will pay for a good meal, but this was not worth it at all. The meal my wife had was a burger which she said she would of enjoyed a burger at Red Robin instead. We have eaten twice in the last week there. The first time was for a late lunch. We were seated in the bar , had a very good server , a short wait time for food and very good food. The next time was on Sunday for brunch. Also seated in the bar. The server was more interested in the bar than us, a very long wait for food and three of four dishes were cold and the garnish on the four was to be chopped Cilantro but it was stems and all . Went here for an early dinner around 4:30 on a Saturday. We were seated in the only "non reserved" seating they had left, but we were alone besides one other party, and nobody else came for the next hour we were there. It was a little odd. Besides that the atmosphere is beautiful and had a nice feel inside and out. The waitress was a little pushy with us only ordering waters, but with the food being a little more expensive we opted out of drinks. The bread that comes out before the meal was the best tasting part of the night. I ordered mac n cheese, minus the ham and bacon. I had read other reviews about this place and thought it would be my best choice. The service was fast. The food was just not good. For what we payed for the food I expected a lot more. It may have a fine dining look, but the food is definitely not worth it. If you are looking for somewhere a little nicer, restaurants downtown have much more to offer in terms of flavor and price. Got rejected by the new dust bowl off the freeway because they don't take walk ins? Anyways fate brought us to this little gem table 26.. I initially always look at yelp to see the rating which was 4-star, impressive. I ordered the ribeye steak medium rare, it came with a fully loaded bake potato and green beans.. I added on a side salad with blue cheese. The salad was a perfect blend of greens, cucumber and blue cheese crumbles. The main course ribeye was incredible medium rare bursting with flavor, good cut of meat with limited fat. Taking a bite of steak followed up with a bite of potato and green bean was tastbud heaven. Folks, this place is incredible. I can't wait to try the seafood risotto next time! read more

Went here with both my sons and had a great time with great food. My son ordered the pole nacho which were tasty and my other son had a burger which again was great. They have good selection of beers and drinks. Our server was on point and he was very polite. Overall I definately would go here again. read more

Awful!! We waited for about 20 mins for drinks, appetizers came out kinda fast but, calamari was very under cooked. After 1 1/2 hours of waiting for our food I asked when our food would be out she relied, why are you in a hurry?? She was snippy that my husband made a comment who really never gets to upset About to much. Wtf really we got here at 6:30 it is now 8 pm and we would like to eat! Smoky,slow server, salty bad food and Loud is your style go eat here. I can't think of anything that was good about this evening except for the people I dined with, well there's that....... Run don't walk back to your car now! You would better off eating at jack in the box across the street. One more thing I asked for some bread with my meal and I don't think our waitress she made it back to the table still and we left 2 hours ago. The only thing she did fast was run our card. We were looking for a nice restaurant to treat our mom for her birthday. We decided to make a reservation here based on the great reviews. We were not disappointed at all. As soon as we walked in carrying a box of cake, they immediately asked if we wanted the cake stored in their fridge while we dine. I didn't even have to ask! There were more than 10 of us and our table was all ready when we arrived. We ordered some appetizers, Ahi Tuna, Lamb Adobo, Cioppino,Shrimp & Crab Linguine, Rib-Eye, Soy Salmon, Gumbo. Every dish was very good and the portions were huge. The two of us that ordered the Ahi Tuna loved it and thought it was one of the best we had. The garlic aioli was very tasty especially when spread on the bread. All the seafood entrees were fresh. Not only was the food great and the service was excellent! They also didn't rush us out even when we stayed a little past closing time. Shout out to our server, Billie! I didn't realize that I had re-added the tip amount on the total (which already included the tip) until days later. But to my surprise, they just charged me the amount without the double added tip. Can't believe it took this long for me to discover this place. Went in on a Sunday evening without any reservations and took about two minutes to get seated upon entry. The restaurant has two type of settings: one side is more of a formal sit down with booths/tables (which is where we chose to dine) and the other is more of a high chair, sports bar type of feel. This place definitely deserves a 5 star rating in my experience. Our waiter was great (wish I had asked for his name), food was DELISH, and the prices were reasonable. I read other comments about how expensive this place is - wish I knew what they're comparing it to. If you're looking for cheap, I recommend Taco Bell right next door. We ordered: calamari, Jack Daniels Sirloin, Rib-Eye, and two rounds of Blue Moon (for two people) -- it only cost $85. I'd say that's a steal! read more

Finally, a first class restaurant in Turlock. We have now been there 4 times, the 1st being opening day. The decor is such that you would find in Palm Desert. Our wait staff on all visits were well trained and very attentive. We never had a wait to get a table. Good, Wonderful. It is not a Steak House, or meat/potatoes restaurant, as many Turlock paterons are used to. Menu is diverse, well seasoned, different. Kudos to the chef and owners. It is not pricey. You get what you pay for. It is a must try if you enjoy good good, great decor, friendly staff and great owners. Don't go if you are just looking for the ordinary steak & baked potatoe. read more

I was looking for a place to take my mother to celebrate (day before) Mothers Day. Found this place on Yelp and decided to take a chance. Food was great. Beer choices limited but good selection. Mother had Fish and Chips -tasty, hot, obviously just fried and a generous size order. Watch out for the Ahi Poke Nachos. I ordered that and there was enough for two or more! This was our first time dining in at this restaurant. We ordered the chicken marsala, which by the way was amazing. They served the dish wish some delicious mashed potatoes on the side. I ordered a tequila sunrise, but unfortunately for me it was too strong. I asked them if It was possible for me to order another drink and I would still pay for the drinks. Wonderful! Had a business meeting at lunch time. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Restaurant was clean and modern but felt very comfortable at the same time. I ordered the sandwich with smoked salmon, reminded me of a lox and cream cheese bagel and I loved it! If you haven't eaten here yet, go give it a try.
