The experience was overall mildly disappointing in light of the menu prices and ambience. The restaurant is beautifully decorated inside and out, and offers fast and free valet parking. The letdown started with the menu being significantly different from what was on the website. Some of the items we were planning to order were not available. The ingredients tasted high quality, but everything I tasted was poorly seasoned (save the Cajun boiled peanuts). Service was appropriate and respectful of not interrupting conversation between guests. While the sizes and price were not quite proportionate, my major issue was the out of date menu on the website; please make sure to check out menu pictures more recently posted.

Ok steakhouse with space for large groups. Nice bar. Decent price. Waiter need some extra training but then again this is a college town. I always return when I'm in town despite my criticisms

My husband and I went for Valentine's Day and it was ok. We made a reservation, and they sat us upstairs in the room they usually reserve for private events which felt a little awkward. Our favorite thing of the night was the Pimento Cheese and Gauc appetizer. Both of our entrees were mediocre at best, my salmon was very bland and my husband's pork chop was overcooked and lackluster. Our server was fine, no issues but didn't stand out in any way either. Overall, a very disappointing experience for an almost $100 meal. We will most likely not return.

Went here for Valentine's Day dinner, and truthfully was not impressed. Food was alright, it wasn't bad by any means but it was nothing great. I got the pork and it was a bit dry. Shake the table while cutting it kind of dry. Service was ok, again nothing awful or bad but not much interaction. We were sat upstairs where I assume they usually use for events so that might have impacted the ambiance. The best way I could the describe the experience was ok. It was a restaurant

Did a solo dinner here last night and overall found it just ok. The spot has a nice ambiance - very chill. But as others have mentioned, every dish is excessively salty and nothing stood out. I got fried pickles, the southern plate with fried catfish , and a key lime pie. The fried pickles were good and had a generous serving but the catfish was just way too salty.

My husband and I came here for a quick date night. It was a Saturday, so we expected it to be somewhat busy, but we found the place nearly empty. We found two seats at the bar and really enjoyed that they were seemingly able to open it up and make it more of an outdoor space when they choose. While the appetizers were great, we did not order dinner. I found it odd that there were not that many people there, but maybe it was because there was an FSU game going on? We will definitely be back for happy hour and appetizers, but the food looked a little pricey, and not something that we would generally like. The service was iffy. The bartenders seemed apathetic and could use a couple smiles.

The food is consistently very rich and high fat, can barely eat anything they make. The service and ambiance are nice.

One of our favorite go to places in Tallahassee. Great atmosphere and service. I love the fun, new southern spin on some traditional dishes.

Really good food and drinks, half of the menu can get a bit pricey but the entire menu is delicious. 10/10 would recommend to a friend...

What is the parking situation like? Is it valet only or can I self park?

The parking behind the restaurant is all valet (it is their own parking lot).

Well...that’s a tough one! It is August in Tally so it’s warm out. However we do have fans on the porch and it is covered. I sat outside recently and I didn’t think it was that bad. Now if I would have been in a suit or long sleeve shirt, I may…

They run a promotion where if you sit at the bar, your meal is half-off. Unfortunately, we were 4 people with a 9-month-old so bar seating was not in the cards for us. We walked up to counter and placed our order. 3 burgers, a chicken sandwich, two small bowls of fries and two small side salads. After tip, it was $96. I've had less expensive sit-down dinners with top-notch service for that price. Our food was brought out to us not too long after we ordered. I will say the food was good. I ordered a double cheeseburger. It was comically large and nearly impossible to eat. The patties were thick and the beef was fresh and savory. I did the build-your-own. Mine had pickles, lettuce, tomato and cheese. The fries were ok. We got the parmesan truffle fries. They had the slight earthy taste of truffle and dusted with parmesan. The side salads were good. The kale was fresh and crunchy, it had a light vinaigrette on it that didn't weigh down the salad and complimented the bits of tomato and carrot. In the end, we enjoyed the meal but couldn't get past the price tag. If there is a next time, we will pop our 9-month-old in her car seat at the bar to get this food at a reasonable price.

The restaurant was spotless, and the staff at the front counter were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. I also loved the patriotic atmosphere. The American flags and the seals representing all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces were a great touch and made the place feel unique. I ordered the double cheeseburger with pickles, grilled onions, ketchup, and mustard. I skipped the lettuce and tomato because of the recent Cyclosporiasis outbreak, which was just a personal preference. I also got an order of fries and their diet cola. Everything came out hot, just the way I like it. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The fries, with their light breading, were crispy and just as impressive. While the meal was a little on the pricey side, the quality of the food made it worth every penny. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely be coming back. How can you tell if you are going to have a bad experience at a restaurant in the South?…read more There will be some signs I will share with you based on my recent visit to Big Randy's. Sign #1: Sweet tea brought to you is from a soda fountain and not fresh-brewed. Making fresh-brewed sweet tea does not cost much. The waitress admitted it to me. I cannot tell you how many times I have had an awful sweet tea from the tab and the the rest of the experience has gone downhill more times than stabilizing the sail. Sign #2: Buying ranch to go with your wings instead of at least being given an obligatory one. Wait...it gets worse...paying for a pre-packaged Ken's Ranch...not Ranch made in-house. Sign #3: BBQ sauce on your wings is Sweet Baby Ray's bought from the grocery store. That is what my wife received and I probably had Sweet Baby Ray's Gold on my overcooked wings. Sign #4: I haven't met many French fries I wouldn't eat but Big Randy's tested me. I couldn't eat them. They were like McDonald's fries except way too salty. My wife's fries had no salt. The only saving grace from a 1-star is at least they made my wings extra wet like I asked and the service was fine. That's how you earn a 2-star. Note: the fried pickles had more of a corn nugget batter and the floor was also very sticky.
