Best place to be at Happy Hour any day of the week. Excellent drink specials, wonderful atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and works hard to keep the booze flowing. Sunday Brunch is one of the best in town with $12 unlimited mimosas, bellinis or poinsettias! Love coming here and staying for a couple of hours on a lazy Sunday. As I walked through the golden gates of table 23, i was bombarded by a cloud of sweet quaint country cookin. Dan the waiter was extremely attractive and attentive and always provided premier customer service. I must say I'm not openly homosexual, but for that man, the closet doors may jiggle. The aesthetic of the room brought me back to my childhood home in the country. The barn doors brought me a feeling of nostalgia and comfort I haven't felt in many years since coming to this desolate town. I tried the Etouffee; twas the first seafood I've had since coming to Tallahassee. I must say it exceeded my expectations (which were expectationally low smh). The crabcakes on top of the catfish on top of the rice on top of the sauce on top of the super cute plate which was on top of the sturdy table on top of the concrete blocks and extremely sturdy to hold my immense weight. I had high expectations because I've heard great things and I was not disappointed! I came for brunch for a friends birthday and they were very accommodating and while brunch can be a little overwhelming from a waitress stand point, our server was attentive and always had those bottomless mimosas coming! Food was just okay and I was expecting much better for the price. Came here on my birthday and was extremely disappointed. The atmosphere is pretty outside but that's the only good thing I can say about this place. I was seated at an outdoor table on the patio. After already having my drinks served, they made me move because I had a dog. They moved us to a table on top of a bunch of dirt. They said it was due to health and safety concerns which does not make sense considering I was already seated at an outdoor table. I have been here twice and thoroughly enjoyed both meals. The front porch is fantastic-you feel like you are in a rustic and chic treehouse. They have a great happy hour including $3 house wine. This restaurant is phenomenal. We're not from the area. My husband and I adored all courses of our meal. The deviled eggs were tasty. The beet salad and wedge salad were scrumptious and we were thrilled to be able to customize a side salad. The rib eye and the filet were by far the best steaks we have ever had at a restaurant. (We usually don't order steaks out because my husband cooks them amazingly.) However, this gem of a restaurant included the most delicious homemade steak sauce and well-prepared sides. Always loved chez Pierre and the restaurant that opened here afterwards. It's always been a beautiful setting and still is. It's prettier here now than previous establishments. Lots of money was spent here and it shows. But, as a foodie and someone who fines out 5-8 days a week... this is not a place I'd ever recommend or return. Good is mediocre at best. We had three dining and each of our meals was edible but not tasty. The service was terrible. And while our server was pleasant enough, he rarely checked on us and the place was less than 1/3 full (lunch in day before thanksgiving). The bathrooms were a mess. Not stocked and not even a single hand towel. Just messy - which is a rejection of lots of money spent on the inside but no one caring for the "home." Skip this place. Go elsewhere. I've been here a couple times in the year I've been in Tally and each time I go the bartenders aren't very friendly. I went a couple weeks ago for brunch and ordered bottomless mimosas and a brunch entree. Had maybe three glasses of mimosas in the two hours I was there and wanted a third at 2:57 and was told they were done with bottomless. What? It says on the menu until three. I could understand if I was being cut off or was being obnoxious, but I sat alone and quiet for two hours... With places like Prime Time and Spear It! which also do brunch, it just seems like there's better places to go, especially since both of these places serve bottomless mimosas until the specified time. read more

Visited Table 23 for the first time today and was immediately obsessed. A huge restaurant with lots of outdoor seating in Midtown (my favorite part of town), that serves tasty and elevated dishes that celebrate local food. What else can you ask for? Obsessed! Came for brunch with some friends and started with a spicy Bloody Mary (yum) and the crab cake Benedict (YUM!). Everything was delicious, and relatively reasonably priced (nothing comes with breakfast potatoes though - sad). My only complaint is that we ordered deviled eggs as a starter and they came after we had finished eating our entree, but our waiter was extremely apologetic and took them off of our check. Yikes. The food I had here was decent (some items were excellent) and the space is great, but the service we had was awful, maybe the worst I've ever had in Tallahassee. I came here with a few of my friends for brunch two weeks ago and we sat outside. I was forewarned that there might be some issues with timeliness when we were seated outside but nothing could have prepared me for the epic catastrophe that was my brunch on October 17. We ordered the Southern Slate to start and it was excellent. I loved the variety of options on the plate and the cheese sticks were surprisingly delicious. The bacon was the perfect mix of sweet and salty. We waited for a while to get the appetizer, then after we were finished it sat on the table for what seemed like an eternity. We finally were able to order our food and when we did it still took a while for it to be brought out. I had eggs and sausage and the sausage was pretty good. The food itself is fine, and the decor of this place is wonderful, don't get me wrong. But again we were left waiting forever for our checks to be brought out. At one point in the meal, I actually went and got our silverware out of the hostess stand because our server forgot to bring it to us. Glasses stacked up on our table throughout the meal, and instead of taking away the empty ones, they just sat there. I thought this was a wholly disappointing experience, and had I not been with friends, I probably would have been incredibly irritated by it. I probably would give this place another shot, but hopefully I'd be in and out faster than I was at brunch. read more

A great locally-owned restaurant that keeps finding new ways to impress me with every visit! I have visited Table 23 a couple of times over the last few years since they opened and never had a bad experience by any means, but also not one which really got me hooked. With a few recent visits and a bit more exploring of the menu, I can now definitely say that I'm hooked and look forward to many more visits to come! The item that really stuck it for me was the cheesecurds. I'm originally from Wisconsin and I've made it an almost obsessive goal to find somewhere. anywhere. please. in the South that served good cheesecurds. Thank god that my journey of so much regret has finally come to an end! The cheesecurds at Table 23 are the real deal and left me breathing a sigh of deep satisfaction (but I might have to bug you guys for a little bit of marinara next time). Paired with a pecan old-fashioned that would also make any Wisconsinite mother proud, you left me feeling at home. The in-house made pickled cherries really make the difference with the drink. I can't help but also give a shout-out to the spinach artichoke dip and truffle tater tots, which always seem to leave me wondering where they all suddenly went. Honestly, I've greatly enjoyed my meals and hangouts at the bar recently at Table 23 and I'm looking forward to trying more. We are from out of state and have been to Table 23 four times, including one brunch. I can honestly say, having extensively travelled through the United States, the food is spectacular. we have never had a bad meal. the pickled pear spicy margarita is wonderful. The fried pickles are a must. My husband loved the prosciutto wrapped filet as much as the burger, whereas I am partial to the chicken fingers and sausage gravy. The mashed potatoes are actually mashed with some lumps, not whipped or puréed. All off our servers have been great. Tonight we had Gracen and she was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. I was in town to drop my daughter off at FSU and this restaurant was highly recommended by several friends of mine. Perhaps my expectations were higher than they should have been, but my first impression was met with disappointment. We were "greeted" by a server who had ZERO personality and made my daughter and I feel like "we showed up without calling first". Although it set the tone for a disappointing dining experience, we gave her the benefit of the doubt, we brushed it off and proceeded to review the menu. We immediately noticed all of the people sitting around the bar and that they did not appear to be socially distanced at all nor were they wearing a mask. Thankfully, our table was a good distance away. The server who sat us came to our table and was immediately annoyed when we weren't prepared to order within a minute of sitting down. My daughter ordered chicken fingers and she didn't particularly enjoy them as they were very dry. I ordered a spinach dip for the table and it was OK, at best. I ordered ceviche as my meal and it was extremely fishy and rubbery so I didn't eat much of it at all. We won't be back. 5 stars no doubt! From the second I walked in, I loved Table 23. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a delightful ambiance. The chandeliers hanging from the ceiling of the outside bar, and the lights wrapping around the trees, give off a very trendy feel. Table 23 provides a unique experience that you can't get many other places in Tallahassee. Our waitress was wonderful. She was very nice and quick to offer amazing recommendations. We loved everything she suggested. The bread was replenished often, the food was brought quickly, and the waitress checked up on us frequently. We sat out on the patio. When we first got there it was pretty packed with happy hour-goers, but it emptied out around 8, leaving mainly diners. Their happy hour is until 7 pm and they have some pretty good deals, I will be checking it out soon. Their speciality cocktails all sound amazing, but I was more in a wine mood so we ordered a bottle with dinner. For appetizers we ordered the special, which is not listed on their normal menu. I can't remember exactly what it was, but it came with buffalo chicken, perfectly cooked brussels sprouts, and a delicious sauce. I don't know how long they will be offering it, but if they still are when you do, I highly recommend trying it. For my main course I split the Shrimp & Grits and The '23' Burger. Wow to both! The burger is what stood out the most to me. I was not expecting it, but definitely up there on the best burgers I've tried in Tallahassee. Pimento cheese was oozing out with every bite, and the thick cut bacon used was phenomenal, awesome burger all around! I ordered the truffled tater tots as my side, as suggested by our waitress. The tots were absolutely amazing. I am a huge fan of truffle, and these killed the game. Best tots I've had in Tally, fact! The Shrimp & Grits were great, as well. The grits had smoked goat cheese in them, adding a unique flavor, and the shrimp were well cooked. My only complaint is that the shrimp still had the tails on them, probably not too big of a deal for some, but this is one of my pet peeves. Although we were stuffed, and already taking home many leftovers, we decided we had to try their deserts. They all sounded too good to say no to! We went for the Sweet Pretzel Parfait, no description noted, solely a "just trust us..." Considering everything else was so good, I knew I could put my complete trust in them. I read the reviews and the history of this establishment and was really impressed. So, my husband and I went on Friday night, it was tough to get a parking spot. Our server was Grace, she was fantastic taking care of all our needs. The anbeance was very pleasant, and the chef prepared food was extraordinary and plated to appeal to your eyes and then to your taste buds. The courses were nicely timed and spaced out so you had time to conversate in between dishes. The dining area had a rustic historic feel about it, next time I would like to sit outside for a different atmosphere.
