Cartersville GA, in town for business and this place had the best YELP reviews and wasn't the Longhorn so here I go. Nice little place situated in a cute downtown locations, typical trendy decor with a nice crowd for a Tuesday night. I was seated in a nice booth and the menu looked great. The waitress dropped off the popcorn mentioned on other reviews. It was excellent and had a rosemary / fennel seasoning on it that apparently they use on the pork chop and was a welcome drop off at my table in lieu of bread or something. I was not in the mood for beef since I'm beefed out for the week (See previous Capital Grille check in....I'm the Duke BTW!). Waitress suggested the chicken parm which I don't usually order and it sounded good. Entree's are ala carte so I added the "Crispy" Brussels sprouts. Chicken parmesan wasn't good. Heavily burnt tasting an sitting atop of lukewarm, mushy pasta. The tomato sauce was homemade which is a good thing, but not when it is so watery the pasta and chicken is swimming in water that makes the chicken soggy. Brussels Sprouts were anything but crispy. It was like they were prepped beforehand and sat in a warmer which allowed them to become mushy. Waitress did come by to check on me and I wasn't in the mood to complain since it was a long day and I wanted to go back to the hotel to go to sleep. I ordered an amazingly simple dish, the hamburger. It was exceptional. It is obviously not a frozen patty. It was juicy! They cook to order. Most places bring it out well done without even asking. We had a great time at Table 20 this past Friday. It was the location we chose for my sons rehearsal dinner. Parking was a challenge due to a theater production taking place downtown, but we were able to find parking which was still a comfortable walk to the restaurant. We had reservations and I spoke with both the manager and owner two weeks prior to arrival to make reservations. Both were friendly and extremely helpful. The food was fantastic! Service, over all, was very quick after we ordered. Everyone in our party of 19 told me how they enjoyed the food. Around our long table I saw the Wild Mushroom Ravioli, Chicken Carbonara, Ahi Tuna, and Scottish Salmon and the special of the evening which was a Blackened Salmon. All items were prepared beautifully! One item I heard about was their buttermilk Mash. All comments surrounding this item were 5 stars! I personally could not get enough of their popcorn, which they placed on the table as a free appitizer. My wife's side of hand-cut fries was very good also :-) I had the pan seared Georgia Trout with parmesan asperagus risotto. It was supposed to have crispy beets but I'm guessing they may have had to do a substitute with oven roasted tomatoes. It was good also. The atmosphere was bustling but not obnoxiously loud. The decor was tastefully simple. Our server, over all, was fantastic. He connected with all our guests and was very friendly. The only suggestions I have for the manager, in taking groups of our size, would be to make sure the lead server has continuous support. The manager was filling in as he felt he needed, but there were many drinks which bottomed out and set empty. Everyones meal arrived in a very timely fashion. My meal however, was very late getting to the table. In fact I believe it may have been overlooked. The manager saw that I did not have food about 5 minutes before the server did and said he would follow up. However, it was not until the server saw it that anything happened. When my food finally arrived, after most everyone in our party had finished, it was good. The manager did remove the cost of my meal from the ticket. As one who has a background in customer service and experience in dining service, 19 people for an evening meal is too large a group for a single server without continuous support. The manager could have done better in preparing, as he had a two week notice of our arrival. This would have also helped the server be successful and our evening to be five star event :-) I will go back! Went to Cartersville to visit the Booth Museum and try a new restaurant. Table 20 was a wonderful experience. Friendly staff, quiet, the food was wonderful. I had the steelhead trout which was so good; moist and crunchy. Found the slaw to have a great texture and taste....the handcut fries were great with the trout. And I had to try the potlikker soup - lived up to expectations. My brother dove into the Ranchers Steak - he liked the taste of the wine jus with the garlic....we enjoyed our time and will be bringing other people here on our next visit!! read more

This is a fairly new spot that was recommended from the hotel that I stayed at. The atmosphere is very nice. It has a modern country house feel to it. All the tables and fixtures are neat and clean. The menu is simple and has a nice variety of American style dishes. Burgers, salmon, steak, and pork chops. I ordered the 12 oz pork chop w/asparagus and mac and cheese. The pork chop was very tender and had plenty of juice to it. Very flavorful. The mac and cheese was very basic but it worked well for the dish. The service was excellent. Our waiter took good care of us. He even checked the credit card for ID which is rare these days. This guy was attentive. I would definitely recommend this place to my coworkers when I am in town again. read more

The chef and other kitchen staff definitely know how to bring out the best in their ingredients. Each new dish I've tried has been a dancing delight on my tongue. Food and service weren't amazing, I mite have ordered the wrong item though. I got the Korean bbq chicken lettuce wraps. To much sesame oil in the sauce a little goes a long way, table 20 kimchi consist of cabbage with no seasoning, or fermentation from what I could tell. Kimchi was the main reason I ordered the dish so I was extremely let down with what I received based on that. Fries seemed fresh cut and were perfectly seasoned, my fiancé had a burger with jalapeños that was cooked perfect and had great flavor. The appetizer which was butter chicken had good flavor just needs more texture maybe extra carrots or some kind of nut as a garnish. We ordered extra naan and only got two more pieces I'd rather be charged and get 4 more. The dish needs it considering the texture is very baby food like. Our server could have been more knowledgeable and social she seemed like she was new and probably in the wrong line of work (introvert). I can't say enough nice things about this spot. Staff was amazing. We walked in today in the afternoon inquiring about dinner. They accommodated us with a 7 pm reservation. Staff was well trained and knowledgeable. Attentive. Fried pickles were to die for!!!!! Jalapeño burger was inhaled. Fries were well seasoned and delicious. The blueberry salad with grilled chicken was one of top salads in my life. I could go on and on. I cannot wait to make an excuse to come Back to eat at Table 20!!!! Me and my girlfriend didn't have to wait long for a table, but after being seated and ordering, we waited 40+ minutes for our food. They also charge you 8$ for water if you don't want tap water. It was also like 80 degrees in the restaurant and the fries are soggy. read more

You ever had that feeling after walking away from a nice meal that it just wasn't that great? This is the way I felt after dining at Table 20. Downtown Cartersville, nice space for a restaurant. From outside, it looked closed. Once inside, the interior felt "cheap" in contrast with the menu. It's like a mix of industrial, farmhouse, and modern with little cohesion in the decor. Tables were sticky (we checked another table on our way out the door). Appetizers we went with the pork belly and the street corn. The pork was a touch over but had good flavor, albeit the pork itself providing the taste as opposed to any seasoning. The corn salad under the pork was just OK. The street corn is literally one ear of corn, on the cob, charred and seasoned. FYI to the chef, an ear of corn doesn't make for a good appetizer to share. Luckily I was with my wife but what do you do if you're there on business? Awkward. Wife went with the tuna and was unimpressed. The tuna had a good cook but the portion was paltry. I tried a bite off her plate and found the avocado purée with the orange sauce to be flavorful. The jasmine rice cake tasted like a cooking oil cake. Rice, when fried like that in a pan, just soaks up the oil. This is a flawed dish, imo. I went with the mushroom ravioli with the tomato cream sauce. First bite of this was nice but it's so rich and such a one-note dish with no relief that I did not finish my portion. A smaller portion of this would make for a nice appetizer...it's not an entree I can recommend. Again, cooking oil became an issue on some of the ravioli...based on browning on some of the pasta, it appears they pan fry the ravioli to heat it up. Much like the rice, pasta is going to soak up liquids, like cooking oil. I don't know. Looking at the menu before going I had relatively high expectations. Between the ambiance and the poorly executed menu/food, I just didn't enjoy Table 20. I feel like they're soooo close to being a really good restaurant given some of the flavor combinations they're using but it's just not there yet. read more

Driving from St. Louis to Florida we stopped in Cartersville GA for the night. We yelped for area restaurants and decided on Table 20 (mostly from the reviews) and they did not disappoint! Even though it was late, we sat at the bar and ordered from recommendations from bartender Casey, my wife had the Steak and Gulf shrimp and I ordered the salmon frites. Everything was amazing down to the grilled broccoli. We couldn't have stopped at a better restaurant and the atmosphere was incredible. Randy, a local patron favorite was bringing us up to speed with the museum's in Cartersville. It's kinda crazy, before 3/5 we'd never heard of this town, now "we'll be back"! read more

This is my open table review. My wife and I came here for a date and the atmosphere was great. I ordered the surf and turf. The steak I received was supposed to be 8oz but I would say it was honestly the smallest steak I have ever received. The Brussel sprouts were amazing. My wife had a burger and fries and the burger was mediocre but the fries were all burnt crumbs. We had two drinks each and they were amazing. The pop corn in the beginning is a fantastic idea but the seasoning on top is very oily and was not appealing. I would love to see some cheese sauce or something like that on it. Our waitress was good and food came quickly as well. It was way overpriced ($97.?) for what we received. I would not recommend this place based on my first time dining here. read more

So... We went to Table 20 for a nice quiet dinner and we were very disappointed in the experience. We were greeted nicely by a very cheerful host and told we would have a 30 minute wait. That was fine for a Friday night and we decided to sit at the bar to avoid the long wait if seats opened up. We waited a short time for a couple of seats to open up and took our place at the bar and that's where the experience went south. The bartender let us sit for several minutes while she visited with her friends that came in to the restaurant. She was so excited about her new job she was starting on Monday, she completely lost any interest in serving clients as they came and focused on her friends. In fact, she was so fixated on her new job and negotiating her salary that's she was asking everyone she knew if they thought she should negotiate her new salary at 50,000 or 60,000 because she had to drive to Spaghetti Junction now... (a long way from Cartersville for sure). The bartender so distracted that she had to be asked to wipe off the bar from the prior patrons and it was very soiled... she just handed us menus and we were stunned she didn't wipe the bar down. On the plus side, she was cheerful. From there we ordered 2 drinks but it took about 10 minutes to get our drinks because she was more interested in her friends than the patrons at her bar and she gave all of them drinks on her tab before she took care of us and another couple. That was very off putting to say the least. We ordered the lettuce wrap appetizer and gave her our main entree orders. After we ordered, she proceeded to tell us that several times were no longer available on the menu... those items included both items we ordered and the number of items they were our of was a lot for 7:45 on a Friday night. Moving on... We settled on Blackened Shrimp Pasta and the Korean BBQ burger. Both of those items were prepared as ordered and were good but... While we were waiting for our appetizer a server from the dining room came up and presented a complaint from another customer about how their drink was mixed. The bartender made a big deal about it and begrudgingly made a new drink. Then after all of that she made ours. She was so distracted with her friends sitting at the bar she made an awful Old Fashioned. The other drink was ok but could have been better if the bar tender had followed a proper recipe. She was pouring unmeasured and with the specialty cocktails they have, which if mixed properly is a really nice list of cocktails. The measured recipe is important for a consistent taste and she didn't use any method of measure so she put far too much bitter in the Old Fashioned, so the drink was really poorly made. As we were waiting a very long time for our food, we asked for water and tea for dinner and that also took a solid 8 minutes with only 8 people at the bar. Next thing we know it's been 25 minutes and the food comes out, however the appetizer never arrived. We pointed that out and she apologized, said she forgot it, and offered if that, after we ate and we're still hungry, she would have lettuce wraps made and then comp the item. That was a nice suggestion but too little too late and she should have paid more attention to her customers. From there it was just simple neglect and no attention to her bar clients. Talking to her friends and having no situational awareness about her service obligations. So, In closing... If the experience had nothing more to tell, this review would have been 3 stars with an opportunity to go back and have a second experience that might improve the score. Of course, I figured that, on the off chance this was an off night with a "short timing" employee then we could give this another shot... BUT... We witnessed two people behind the bar simply avoid putting glasses and utensils through an approved cleaning process. The bartenders took glasses that weren't sanitized and used them to both "shake" drinks and ultimately make new drinks in glasses that came out of a dirty sink with dirty water and re-use utensils that came out of that same dirty water that had food debris floating in the water. No soap, just a rinse and wipe. Once you cross the unsanitary line, we have to be done with the place. That's where I have to say the management here needs to seriously retrain the staff and be present. There was a serious lack of management presence in the restaurant. So, 2 stars and unfortunately I'm giving a poor review which I try to avoid at all costs but these guys have some work to do. Not sure if I can bring myself to go back... read more

I was hoping for a yummy local restaurant on my visit to Cartersville. We sat outside for lunch on a beautiful day. Easy parking. Other reviews looked great but I guess the menu often changes and I honestly could not find anything that looked interesting to me...my friend and I share a kale and apple salad and also a brie burger. We both were very surprised that the kale salad had TONS of kale stems and it was very uncomfortable to eat. I finally pushed them to the side and my half salad had the quantity of at least at least 2 huge tablespoons worth of hard kale stems! Honestly, they should really be removed before making the salad and it was not a good sign to me that they would just ignore the stems, and I am telling you, there was ALOT! The pic posted was taken early on when I first realized but it got worse as I uncovered the rest! The burger was tasty but because it was cut in half, I was able to really see the size of the burger patty. It just seemed super small. Granted it was cut in half, but it was like two bites worth of meat. I will say we subbed the fries for roasted broccoli and the broccoli was wonderful! Garlicky, roasted, sun dried tomatoes and cheese. Best part of the lunch. Our server was good though and paid attention to us although we were the only ones sitting outside. read more

Hubby and I eat out often. We stopped in for a late breakfast and were pleasantly surprised. The menu was more lunch than breakfast but they did have double-fried chicken and waffles. I got fried green tomatoes and bacon panini with sautéed spinach (instead of fries). Hubby got meatloaf sandwich and fries. Great service, nice atmosphere, clean restrooms. Food was excellent and I took half home! We'll be back for dinner next time we're in Cartersville. read more

Wonderful atmosphere and great food in downtown Cartersville at Table 20. Menu is full of "different" yet familiar items. All items have a Table 20 zing to them. Last night I had their deviled eggs with pepper jelly and bacon- great appetizer, followed by their Gen Tso's fried chicken wrap. The mix of flavorful ingredients were perfect- tasty sauce and broccoli slaw with sliced ginger really complimented the chicken. Looking forward to trying something different next time. read more
