The menu listed sweet crepes (e.g., fuji caramel apple, matcha chocolate truffles, lychee romantic, and blueberry cheesecake), savory crepes (e.g., spicy crabmeat, chicken teriyaki, angus short ribs, vegetarian lover, and shrimp tempura), and many non-alcoholic beverages (e.g., fruity drinks, slushes, milk teas, and fruit teas). Customers may create their own custom sweet crepe from up to two fillings, up to two fruits, and up to four toppings. Customers may either order in-person for dining in or takeout or order online for delivery or pickup. Catering is also available. My mom and I are regular customers at T-swirl crepe in squirrel hill as we live close by. My mom is severely celiac and gets EXTREMELY sick if she has any amount of gluten. She can have the crepes there because they're made with rice flour, and we've been going for years. Today we went and my mom ordered the same thing she usually gets, but the man at the counter got the order mixed up. It happens sometimes, but since my mom has a severe gluten allergy, she needs to check to see what it is. She went up and politely asked him what was in her order since she didn't ask for several of the ingredients, to which he defensively snapped that he gave her what she ordered. My mom is extremely careful about this stuff due to her severe allergies. He then reveals that there is custard in it, which contains gluten. So now my mom is upset because she's going to be severely sick for at least a few days. A few minutes later he came out to where we were sitting and asked if my mom would like a replacement. She, again, tries explaining why this mix up was so important, only for him to insist that she ordered the thing that would make her sick. She gets the exact same thing every time she comes in, and I heard her say the exact same thing. The man INSISTED that she ordered something else though, and when my mom commented that he gave her the wrong order he rudely snapped "I KNOW what I heard." Again, keep in mind my mother is going to be extremely sick because of this mix up and will likely have to miss several days of work. He eventually brings out the correct order and when we try to explain why this is so important, he ROLLED HIS EYES. Then he once again INSISTED that she ordered something that will make her sick. My mom wasn't even being rude, she was trying to calmly explain that she was going to be sick, and he was incredibly rude to her. When she got frustrated and got up to leave, he yelled after her "MAKE SURE YOU ORDER THE RIGHT THING NEXT TIME!" This is extremely negligent and rude behavior to a loyal customer of years who has only ever been friendly in the past. Avoid this place, especially if you have food allergies, because if the cashier mixes up your order and gives something potentially life threatening, there's a good chance he'll insist you ordered the wrong thing, roll his eyes at you, and yell at you for being upset that you didn't get what you ordered. read more

Cute crepe place in Squirrel Hill -- I think this is a chain? There's a couple other locations in Pittsburgh as well. The crepes here definitely aren't as good as others you can get elsewhere in Pittsburgh, but they do have a ton of different topping options from fresh fruit to ice cream. It's a very aesthetic and instagrammable snack, but when it comes to the actual crepe it's really hard to eat in the form it's served in (a paper sleeve; I'd rather eat it with a fork and knife) and quality of the crepe itself is pretty average. We got the lychee romantic sweet crepe and the lychee was definitely canned, not fresh, so it didn't taste amazing imo. I've had other crepes from here through delivery and those were better -- but they were just topped with ice cream, which is hard to mess up. Super cool treat spot in Squirrel Hill! It's the foremost place for crepes, both sweet and savory, in Pittsburgh. So, being a crepe fan, I knew I had to check it out. I decided to go with something pretty simple: bans chocolate sweet crepe but substitute banana for lychee. If you go for a vanilla based crepe, definitely get lychee with it as your fruit (if you are doing a BYO crepe). Their custard was also super good. My boyfriend and I were driving through Squirrel Hill last month when we first noticed T-Swirl and decided to check it out a couple days later. We went during their grand opening week, which was just before the new year. They had a mix of sweet and savory crepes and pretty good options overall. I got the Lychee Romantic crepe (lychees, raspberries, rose custard cream, whipped yogurt, pistachio) and my boyfriend got the NY Blueberry Cheesecake crepe (blueberries, whipped cream, whipped yogurt, vanilla ice cream, chocolate Pocky). We enjoyed them for the most part, but I was a little disappointed with my Lychee Romantic because the ingredients didn't work as well together as I thought. We sat on the bench and watched the two people constructing our food, which was neat, but explains the wait. We decided to get a table, but upon seeing all the free tables, I noticed they were mostly covered in trash left by patrons who didn't throw their crepe wrappers/free clear water cups away. It was clear the patrons hadn't done this because the trash bin by the main door was too full-- no one had cleaned it in a while! I stopped by here a couple of Saturdays ago with my wife for dessert. We happened to be on Murray Ave whenever I spotted T Swirl Crepe. You see they have some of their crepes in the front window which makes it a super enticing place to go. The inside of the restaurant isn't too large with a small seating area on your left whenever you first enter and then the cash register with the "kitchen" and display case right next to that. It's the type of place where you place your order at the counter and then have your number called whenever your food is ready. For our dessert on this evening my wife and I first tried to split a creme brûlée crepe. However they happened to be out of it and so we ended up ordering the Wild Berries sans chocolate. The menu describes it as sliced strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, custard cream, whipped yogurt, chocolate pearls and granola. It took about 5 minutes for them to make it and my wife and I sat on a bench where we had a full view of it. Once it was ready we grabbed it and headed to our seats. My first bite ended up being really good! The crepe was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Meanwhile the yogurt filling gave it a little tartness while the custard cream gave it some sweetness. Last but not least, the strawberries, blueberries and raspberries gave it a great flavor while also making it feel at least somewhat healthy. My wife enjoyed it as well and in no time we had completely finished our shared crepe. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future.
