Had a really great time here over the weekend. Was able to purchase some gear and ammo for a decent price. The range had about 5 lanes, so not too bad. We brought our own firearm so no rentals needed. Customer service was very friendly and helpful. Overall, It was a fun time. Everybody was in their zone and had proper etiquette. T-rex is likely the worst gun shop I've ever been to, if not worst business in general. I placed an order with Davidsons and the rifle went to the wrong place. I called them and let them know that I would I would pick it up I could get to the area, and that I was a disabled veteran with limited availability to travel. T-rex insisted I have an appointment, even if I was just there to fill out the 44 form and pay the remainder. I abided by their appointment policy and set an appointment even though I had little resources to travel that far. When we finally got there the entrance looked more like a child's dinosaur attraction then a gun shop. Once in the shop I approached the sales counter, I could see my rifle in its box on a cart. There was a woman working the counter selling a firearm to a new customer. I let her know I was simply there to pick up a purchase. Rather than getting me a 44 form to start filling out she let me stand there for 20 min before even attempting to get me a form. She literally stood there talking to the buyers about her husband's job as border patrol and other unrelated topics while a disabled veteran who can't stand long is left standing at the counter with and appointment and a simple pick up. She left me standing there for a total of 30 minutes while telling jokes to other customers about how I was just standing there... saying stuff sorry you GET (?) To put up with us. Finally she gets me a 44 form and completes a background check. Then she tried to send me off with out paying the remainder. I had to tell her many times and many ways to get her to understand that I owed them money. I was in the store for nearly an hour before everything was done and I could actually leave with my purchase. The store is poorly stocked with outdated firearms accessories and what I would call a sad selection of firearms. They had a knife section in a case that contained the finest gas station cutlery. Between the poorly trained staff and crappy work attitude, poor selection, and childish appearance, and God knows what else I hope I never need to pass through their doors again. I go to TRex over all the other places for several reasons; 1. They're nice people. They treat everyone with respect and want to help. If you're new here and feel ignored, speak up! Say hi, there's often a lot of people in the shop and it can get chaotic, but the staff isn't trying to ignore anyone. 2. They have a great range. It's clean, easy to use and the staff is always willing to help if you have any problems. 3. FFL transfers are affordable - they don't charge more if you get your gun from somewhere else and have it shipped to them. 4. They offer training classes! This is awesome. They have great instructors to teach you useful information and skills related to firearms. It also helps that they are a quick drive from my home. read more

Unexpectedly had some free time on a Monday and was in the mood to shoot, but my usual range is closed Mondays. T Rex isn't too far from me so I decided to try it instead. Good experience overall. The man who checked me in was very professional and welcoming. The store portion of the operation is clean and well organized. The range also seemed well kept. Target controllers very easy to work--you pull a switch and hold it to move the target up or down the lane, rather than using a touch screen that may or may not respond to your touch. The staff here went above and beyond to make this old lady and her mid twenties daughter feel confident about her first firearms purchase. They were some of the most thorough ,well trained staff I have ever come across. They were patient and went out of their way to make sure she was safe and confident. Staff are friendly and want to help (unusual in this day and age). Have been there several times in the last several years and have nothing but good to say about each experience. Each time they have been very accommodating to my needs. As a past range instructor for the Police Dept. I retired from, I have taken my grandsons there to teach them gun safety and how to shoot. I had a Groupon for here. Unlike Jada I use them regularly. It is tucked right off the Service drive in Belleville. I usually go to Ann Arbor but this is definitely closer. The place was clean and orderly. I took a friend as they never have been here. It was a Groupon downer as this was a Sunday and the Groupon was only good Monday thru Friday. I have my own guns, amo and protective wear do no big deal. The counter people were helpful. Since it was my first time here I had to fill out the first timers paperwork. The range has a 2 button for the target. This is nice and simple unlike some ranges. My friend got a wick lesson on the thumb. I told her to keep it low but she got bit. The guys called it a snake bite but it was not as bad as some but they did joke around. We have all received one at some point. Overall, good range and good people. I will be back to use my Groupon. read more

Very nice facility with a better than average range. Not a ton of lanes which isn't a bad thing but it can cause the place to be busy with a little of wait in the event they are full. Staff was very polite and knowledgeable. The only area I saw for improvement was the target trolley only went down to 40 yards and I believe they claim it to be 50 yards. Not a big deal. The other thing I noticed was that with the range being completely full the ventilation system had a hard time keeping up at times. I like the smaller shop and like that they keep things basic. Awesome place! My wife and I came in for the first time today and we were welcomed like family. It happened to be their 1 year anniversary so it was free range time. It was super laid back, very clean range, very friendly service. My wife grew up in the area and we will definitely be stopping by here more when we visit the in laws. Stopped by to sight in my rifle for deer season, and get a few more practice rounds with my hunting sidearm. Location is convenient to Ypsi Twp and the facility is decent and well-apportioned. The staff is professional and well-trained. The prices are reasonable, and you can rent what you don't already have, including firearms. The range is is good, but the lighting on Lane #8 at 50yds was not sufficient. Even so, I was able to sight in quite effectively. I had a blast practice shooting my .38 sidearm: great range for pistols! I'll be back to plink away with the .38 some more, and I'd recommend T Rex Arms if you want a convenient range location at a decent price! read more

Gun range is fine but if you are trying to get some gun smithing done RUNN RUNN RUNN DO NOT TAKE YOUR EXPENSIVE GUNS HERE THEY DO A POOR JOB not qualified to be a gunsmith at all I went in to get a binary trigger installed and keep having problems my feeding handle keep hitting on the trigger because it was installed improperly an when I brought it back it took them a whole week holding my gun to never inspect or to do service until I showed up to pick gun up for him to check it an say he don't see the problem.. an he will have to send it out to another person..how u don't see the problem when the feeding handle is hitting the trigger I called another gunsmith in front of they face an they got mad so now they refusing my service the manager to the store and owner only protect one another not one person tried to fix the problem I truly feel like they racist all white staff that's racist an did not care about how they treated someone who spent good money on they gun for them to make sure my guns not firing or loading any bullets be careful who u choose to work on yo gun this place FAILED THEY DONT START ON YOUR ISSUE AS SOON AS U BRING YOUR GUN IN THEY WANT TO WAIT TILL THE END OF THE WEEK WHEN THEY GET ALOT OF FUNS TO ONLY KEEP U WAITING AN THEY DONT SERVICE WHO COME FIRST THEY DO WHAT THEY WANT DO NOT SUPPORT THIS LAME BUSINESS read more

I can only recommend t-rex for its enjoyable, clean, and relaxed range. Shooting there is a joy and I have no complaints as far as standard shooting range time goes. However, I've had too many bad experiences to honestly recommend them for any other service. I have not only been told the firearm I had delivered was delivered illegally (it wasn't and why would you take it if it was?) but bold-faced lied to on 3 separate times in 2 weeks regarding the status of two firearms I was having gunsmithed. I directly asked one of the employees if they had my information so they could call me as promised, he said yes, then 2 days later when I came in because they hadn't called, I was told by the very same employee that they didn't have any of my information including my phone number. Thats after being completely lied to regarding the sight of my handgun being replaced one week after being dropped off and now not even being in the hands of the gunsmith until 2 weeks in. You cant run a successful business with employees lying to your customers, as someone who is also in firearms retail I understand not always having the answer, but lying to people's faces and not fixing your problems is going to lose a lot more people than just being straight with them. read more
