With the pandemic I knew I wouldn't be going to our gym anytime soon. Our couch was getting a nice…read more"Annette" sized divot and my joints were getting stiff. I needed to start moving again. I'm not big on running outdoors so I cleaned up the basement and began my research on treadmills. Eventually I found a good, mid priced folding treadmill (Sole F80) that they carry at Dick's and waited patiently for one to come in stock somewhere in my area (treadmills are understandably hard to come by these days!). You can set it up to be notified if one comes in stock at a set location. It I was open to picking up anywhere in the Metro so I just checked every morning on their website. Eventually after a week, one ended up at this location in Canton and I made the purchase! It wasn't available for delivery but curbside pick up was an option. After some measuring I realized our Escape was not big enough for this but luckily my aunt's SUV could make it work. So we headed over together to make the pick up. Curbside is easy--pull up, call them to let them know you're here. They check your ID and purchase email with a large item like this. Then two dudes came out and, after much hard labor, got this massive box into our car. So major snaps for the heavy lifting they have to do on the regular for purchases like these! On our way home I started to sweat thinking about getting it into OUR house alone, and wished they had offered the delivery/assembly option, but luckily with the help of family (and our unsuspecting neighbor who got roped in by being in the wrong place at the wrong time!) we got it down stairs. Putting it together was super easy and I was able to do it alone. I still wish they offered assistance tho, I was so worried someone would get hurt moving this 300lb beast down the stairs! But that's the only criticism I have about the experience. In the end the treadmill is great. It's a fantastic build and Dick's had it at the manufacturer's price. No additional fees for curbside pick up either. I got two weeks of getting back to shape on it before twisting my ankle walking to my car today, haha! But I look forward to getting back on it as soon as I'm healed. Highly recommend purchasing an equipment piece from Dick's. But make sure you can accommodate pick up and moving should delivery not be available in your area.

Do NOT get your ice skates sharpened here. They were 10x worse than when I brought them in and I…read morewas unable to skate in my game that night. Had to take them somewhere else the next day to be resharpened and they were able to show me visibly how terrible of a job they did on my skates. The whole blade had visible ripples in it and there was absolutely no edge on the inside of my right skate. Also charged more than the place that did them correctly.

To start this out, I used to work for the company so I know what the policies and procedures are -…read moreespecially when it comes to the trading customer items in. So I went in today to trade in a board I've been using as decor for years - it's in excellent condition and it's also just really cool in general because it's a limited edition gnu board with universal horror monsters all over one side of it with a green trim - truly gorgeous BUT bills are in demand right now so I had to let go of it. So I figure this will be an easy process and I'm ready to take a lower amount for it (maybe like $150 or something considering I got it for $600 myself originally previously owned and again it was just decor so it's in the same condition I originally bought it in. I went to play it again sports to trade in my board - I've worked there so I know the process and I'm willing to take a hit (accept $150 at the lowest) and am totally cool with that because I'm desperate for bill money right now So I go in, a teenager is working and I was like "hi I'm trying to trade in my board" and he said "okay I'll have my manager take a look at it." Nice and normal. I said "and just to save you some time it was really hard to find info on the board but I know it's from 2007-2010 originally so it'll help your search." I wish I had shut up and Not been helpful. He said "oh yeah I don't know if we can take it if it's that old." I said "if it's usable that doesn't matter? Also if I didn't tell you the year then you wouldn't have said that? And if anything it's worth more because of how rare it is and what good condition it's in so why does the year matter?" (Repeating, I've worked here before...so that was a load of crap.) He said "okay yeah I'll ask him."So he goes and asks another teenager working there and comes back and says "yeah my manager said if it's that old we can't take it." I said "he's not even gonna look at it? Because of the year?" He said "I don't snowboard so I don't know much but yeah sorry" ALRIGHT MY GUY IF YOU DONT KNOW SNOWBOARDS THEN YOUR PERSPECTIVE ON THE WORTH IS LIKE EXTRA USELESS LIKE GO GET YOUR BOSS TO ACTUALLY DO HIS JOB??? So he says, "he's really busy" - it wasn't busy. At all. So I'm shocked at that response and just stand there and say, "no I'll wait, he can look at the board like he's supposed to." He goes off and asks him and him and the teenage manager plus some other kid (I swear to god they were like all in high school) to look at the board. I pretend to walk around the store but at this point I didn't trust them at all so I was actually paying attention to them and this is what they did: I watch them stare at the board and spin it a little, then tell me they can give me $25. 1. So the "we can't take it if it's that old" was a blatant lie because magically they can now 2. The board is priced off of a few factors, all of which require research and they did absolutely ZERO of that to determine a price. They just made it up on the spot. I laughed at the random insult of a number they gave and just left. Absolutely insane experience and I don't know if this location just doesn't train their people correctly or if it's because they hire them so young but good lord that was such a wildly ignorant and unprofessional experience. Train your people or hire competency.
