I was dealing with an issue and I needed a human professional -- I found the best possible one at my local TMobile Store in Northgate. I've been with Tmobile for 8 1/2 years and have a business account with them. It's a very small business so every dollar matters and I was dealing with an issue that could impact my bill for two cycles. Store manager Josh Gaffney stepped up immediately with gracious professionalism neutralize my frustration very quickly and made it clear that solutions would be forthcoming. I watched as he coached a team member through the steps of how to handle a situation like mine and he was a very clear, methodical thoughtful mentor Sharing system sensitive insight with the staff member as well as technical wisdom. I learned from observing him. Sometimes these things can take a very long time, because of Josh's assistance the whole issue took less than half an hour. There was a follow up step necessary and he indicated he would make sure to until completion if I needed to return to the store. I appreciate it professional as well as his knowledge and felt respected and seen in the wake of what would otherwise have been a frustrating and time-consuming issue. I had a very disappointing and stressful experience with T-Mobile, specifically at the Northgate Mall location (Store #8934) on April 19 around 2 PM. My family visited the store twice. On the first day, we spent about 4 hours setting up service. We were told that for two lines plus a promotional extra line, the total monthly cost would be around $145, and with my husband's Boeing employee discount (15%), it would be about $119. Based on this information, we decided to switch 3 lines from AT&T (where we were paying about $136/month) to T-Mobile, especially because we were told their international travel plan was good. However, after going home and calling to confirm our travel plan right before our trip, we discovered our actual bill was $171, with no discount applied. We felt misled. Because we were about to leave the country, we rushed back to the store to fix the issue and add an international plan. The store wasn't busy, and the manager on duty, José (who refused to provide his last name), was extremely unhelpful and unprofessional. I politely explained that we were in a rush to catch an international flight and urgently needed help fixing our phone plan. Since we had already waited 4 hours the day before and needed all family members present, I asked if he could at least start assisting us while we waited for our son to arrive. He simply said "no," with a hostile attitude, and told us to go to another store--even after seeing how anxious and stressed we were. He showed no willingness to help in a time-sensitive situation. We were left without support and had to go back to AT&T, where we waited another 4 hours to restore our previous service. This entire situation cost us many hours, unnecessary stress, and disrupted our travel plans. This experience was unacceptable. The lack of transparency in pricing and the poor customer service--especially from a manager--were shocking. We will not return to T-Mobile after this experience. If I could, I'd give 0 stars for this person. read more

All while answering questions about our upcoming trip out of country, and how we can make sure we have fast 5G service when traveling! My husband is looking to get a new phone. He needed someone who spoke Spanish and so he got an employee named Cristian. He was very rude and told him he was "a bit busy but tell me what you need". He also asked him to come back tomorrow or go to the app and see everything there. That's supposed to be their job if we have any questions. Lost a customer and we will not be returning and also canceling our T-Mobile account. The feeling of someone not wanting to help you is terrible. read more

The short, male Hispanic employee is extremely lazy and unhelpful. Due to his direct mistake in cancelling a second Internet line, and refusal to cancel the line at the time the second box was returned in July 2024... so we were charged an extra $660 during this time period due to his failure. We're honestly considering switching due to this employee. read more

TLDR Customer Service Standard: Not Good. "Store Manager" / "Austin": Not Good. Aloha I am a Seattle native and customer service professional/secret shopper, 37 year old Polynesian male. I cancelled my T-Mobile internet service. For my area, the service was decent but inconsistent. The call center told me to return my items to the nearest T-Mobile location. When I got to the T-Mobile Northgate Station on NE Northgate Way in Seattle, no one greeted me. I stood in place with my box of items for fifteen minutes, completely ignored. In that time, two employees walked out of the store and two others continued helping other customers. I waited for someone to say, "Hello, it will be a few minutes," or, "We'll be with you as soon as one of us opens up." What I wanted was for my presence and business to be acknowledged. If I were on the job as a secret shopper, this store would fail immediately. But since this was real life, though I silently criticized, I was not at all perturbed. So, noting that no one even said, "Hello," I simply lowered my expectations of congeniality and hoped to be helped with my return in an efficient manner once service were available. (Some customer service people lack people skills, but are amazingly efficient workers.) A person, whose nametag read "Austin," walked out of the "Employees Only" area and asked one of the associates already engaged with another customer if she knew "who was next." She said no. Again, as an actual customer service professional, I thought to myself, "If it were me, I would simply ask the only two customers not being helped, 'Hi! I can help whoever's next? Are you next? How can I help, are you next?'" The customer who was ahead of me announced herself and engaged "Austin" about a technical issue with her phone notifications. "Austin" wasn't helpful at all, failing to give the customer good options and explanations; it was as if he just wanted her to leave as quickly as possible. He certainly did not want to do any investigating on her behalf or even to engage her at her level of expertise. I could tell terms were flying over her head and thought to myself, "I should engage her and let her know some of her options before she leaves." But, again, after surveying the customer service in this place, I just wanted to perform my very basic of transactions and be done. Once their interaction was complete, "Austin" without making eye contact, and in a bored tone of voice said to me, "How can I help you." I said, "I have been waiting for fifteen minutes and none of you even had the decency to greet me." Austin said nothing. So I said, "I'm here to return this s***." Austin said, "Please watch your language." I said, "Your sense of customer service is non-existent, that is why I'm frustrated." Austin said, "Then you can just go to a different store." I said, "I would like to speak with your manager." Austin said, "I am the store manager here and I'm not helping you." I said, "I am not taking these items anywhere else, so give me your manager." He said, "OK then I'm calling security." And he walked into the "Employees Area." I pulled out my phone and started recording, because I was excited to meet security. I wanted to explain everything so that there would be an official record. For thirty minutes, the other employees continued to ignore me. Having met many unremarkable people in the customer service field, I could understand their basic instinct to avoid interaction with me. But, again, as a customer service professional, I can assure you that the situation I have described is of low intensity. No combination of neurons in that place compelled anyone to resolve my issue regardless and honestly because of the word from "Austin." This is a "store manager" throwing a fit about a customer's criticisms. I said one problematic word and when I was told to watch my language, I immediately complied. But as I continued to point out their lack of service, I was immediately denied service. When I explained that this cannot be T-Mobile's policy, and asked for another manager, I was immediately threatened with security intervention. I wonder if T-Mobile disagrees with my belief that self-victimization and false intimidation do not a "store manager" make. I stood there and recorded for thirty minutes and the threat of security was never fulfilled. Some of the workers even waited together with "Austin" in the Employee Area for "security." So perhaps "Austin" is indeed the "store manager" there. In that case, this establishment is a sad breeding ground for work befitting the empty hall that is its main entrance. read more

I really don't enjoy making bad reviews but I could not be more disappointed in the way T-Mobile handled this. I went to this location to get my WiFi set up and to get screen protectors. Myself and my partner got the ones that could be replaced as many times/whenever we would like at any T-Mobile location, which was a whopping $120 for two. The (very kind and attentive) employee placed them on our phones and threw away the trash and we were on our way. I then went to get mine replaced two weeks later to find that this is only applies to customers who have insurance through T-Mobile which I do not have. They inform me that I would have to contact the screen protector manufacturer but there were two issues: I needed the product number (which was thrown away in-store with the box) AND I would need to pay $10 *every single time I replaced it*. I think we all know we can get 3 screen protectors for $6 on amazon so that is an AWFUL DEAL? I would have NEVER spent $120 for these had I known that. To be fair, I do not think the employee knew this and I think it was a genuine accident. I also think that my experience, despite his kind intentions, was a clear bait and switch experience. What really sends me to the next level however, is T-Mobile not offering me ANY type of refund or replacement for this struggle. Instead they said they would make sure to punish the employee, which is insane to me that they think reprimanding that employee would be more satisfying to me than them making it right? Having employees make mistakes is part of the business - as is filtering and solving customer complaints. I couldn't be more disappointed in T-Mobile, and I will be finding elsewhere to switch my phone and internet to. read more

Don't shop here. Salespeople are incredibly pressuring and will waste your time. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted. Guy wasn't even sure if they carried it and tried to push a preorder for a newer phone. They were out of stock of both my first choice and second choice phones. I was willing to pay $200 more for a third option and quickly made my decision to go for this third choice I hadn't had a chance to research yet. Then the store employee tried to salesman me over and over again for items I did not ask about or had any interest in. First a tablet, which I understand, it's a current promo and if its eligible for this transaction he's probably required to ask about it. No thanks. Then he made a big show of going to get the phone and explained that it would be a wait. I honestly wonder whether their safe is actually on a time release or it's just another sales tactic. He then brought out some tiny wireless headphones and started trying to sell those to me. I told him bluntly, they have no cord, I don't want them, that's a terrible idea and listed all the reasons why I wireless headphones don't work with my lifestyle (they're small, they'll get lost, I can't wear them at work for safety reasons) Not to mention I don't like the idea of dropping $169 to look like I'm wearing a hearing aid when I have a perfectly acceptable $10 substitute at home. I did not go in asking about headphones. Or speakers, or music, or handsfree calling or anything at all that would indicate that I might be interested in purchasing this additional (nearly $200!) item. I asked maybe two questions about a particular phone and getting a durable case. After I had already told him I wasn't interested in the headphones and all the reasons why, he kept going saying he loves his and then pulled up reviews of them. It wasn't like I was comparison shopping two different types of headphones and had technical questions about the difference between the two. I have zero interest in even buying this category of item, ever. And he kept pushing and left them out on the counter and made a big show of price checking them like I was actually going to buy this random thing he pulled out of left field. And this point I was incredibly annoyed and giving one word answers to his prying questions (typical salesman stuff like where are you from, what do you do). I know this is meant to make you let your guard down but it did the opposite and made me incredibly uncomfortable. He finally returned with the phone and the total for the phone and the case was nearly $850. By this time I had been made to wait long enough that I pulled up the prices online and realized I could get the original phone I wanted and a case and screen protector for around $500 AND not have to deal with pressuring salespeople trying to force me to buy things I don't want or need. Had it not been for that sales associate, I would have bought that phone knowing full well that I was paying significantly more for the same-day convenience of a brick-and-mortar store. I ended up leaving. It's not about the money, it's about the principle of the matter. I felt pressured and not listened to. The whole experience was uncomfortable and disgusting. Go to Best Buy where they don't make a commission and don't condescend like you don't know what you want. read more

We had a really complex account where we were merging two accounts from one carrier and bringing them to T-Mobile. The staff here (Amir and manager Andrea) we're amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, very clear about the options and info we needed to transfer all 5 phones. They made it so much easier than I expected and kept me updated every age of the way. I will never go back to this store! The associates lied to me about turning in a Sprint device in exchange for a T-Mobile device leaving charges on my former Sprint bill that they said they would take care of. Then when I called the "store manager" she said that it was my responsibility to turn the old Sprint phone in before coming to the store, so she couldn't help me get rid of the lease agreement like her associates promised! She wouldn't give me her name or the associates who helped us that day, that they had no way of tracking the transactions... I work in retail and I know that a huge conglomerate like T-Mobile tracks their all their very expensive devices walking out of the store. After three months of back and forth, I decided to call corporate to file a complaint. The corporate reps were very kind, understanding, and helped me eliminate this charge. During my corporate call, they included an associate (Alisha B) in the call from the store who was nothing but rude, had an attitude that we were inconveniencing her, and was extremely focused on getting off the phone as quickly as possible. Corporate also informed me that the store manager is actually a man, so that "store manager" that I spoke to was also lying! Avoid this store like the plague! No one knows what they are doing, nor do they care about good customer service. read more

I went here to retire my teenager's old iphone 5S and activate an iphone 6S I had bought with more memory. I had been doing it myself online but didn't know the SIM ID number for the SIM being transferred. So I figured I'd get a new one since we'd need it soon anyway having been Sprint customers. When I got there, I was told that to update it a new SIM in one step they needed to do it with phone in hand. If it was already activated with a transferred SIM, I could do it myself online. So I got the phone, came back and they started. We entered the IMEI number (will be important later) and they took the phone and came back shortly claiming the phone wouldn't work on their network at all under any circumstances (they had been looking at the phone's MEID number when they returned it). They said I needed a different phone. This instantly raised my ire because I had gotten this phone specifically to work on Sprint or T-mobile, and because this is a common scam when cell phone salesmen are trying to get you to buy a new phone, not use an old one. I told them I didn't believe them and would not be buying a new one from them. To their credit, they didn't try to sell me one, suggesting they were not trying a deliberate scam. While still very irritated, I wasn't sure who to be mad at, the phone seller, them, or myself. After leaving, I looked up the info about the phone from the seller and reviewed network compatibility issues since I don't deal with cell phone networks everyday. To cut to the chase, the staff at the store didn't know what they were doing. My phone had an MEID which mean it would work on a CDMA network. The wrong network for T-mobile. So they assumed it wouldn't work. But it also had an IMEI number which meant it would work on an ESM network such as T-mobile's. They knew it had one, we had looked it up and entered it only minutes before they claimed it wouldn't work. Phones that have both types of numbers will work on both networks, a fact they appeared to be completely unaware of. But it gets even worse. They were also unaware that T-mobile has an online compatibility checker. Just enter the phone's IMEI number. I did it, it said the phone would work with their network. I ended up finding the SIM ID for the SIM in the 5S and transferred it over myself, the 'incompatible' phone activated immediately and works just fine. Had I believed what T-mobile staff at this store told me, it would have cost me at least another $100 over what I had already spent. As it was I wasted a good 2+ hours having to do their jobs, because they weren't up to it. I'd give one star, but they get credit for not trying to sell me a phone. They were not malicious they just didn't know what they were doing. I still have to switch to a new SIM eventually, but I will not be doing it at this store. read more

Came in today for help with my bill, Andrea helped me go over all of the details I didn't understand. I went in with the intentions of canceling and going else where but she was so kind and really explained everything to me. After explaining my bill to me she suggested trading in my devices since they were paid and we would get iPhone 13 for free. It was a deal I couldn't pass up, I decided to do the trades as well as I was able to get my toddler a tablet for FREE! T-mobile does not take care of phones that are damaged through no fault of yours. They add service charges and fees that should not be added. The data plans are good, but the managers have no real power to set things right with a defective phone. They want to charge you, again and again. So, I just ported over my number to Verizon wireless, where they don't treat their customers so poorly, and closed my T-mobile account. I don't like to argue when I'm right. T-Mobile touts that customer experience is their #1 priority- "We shoot for 110% satisfaction every time." This may be the corporate-level identity, but the reality of retail stores and working-level service reps falls FAR SHORT. I went to this store to convert my plan over from Verizon. After being continually screwed over by Verizon's constantly changing plans and policies, I was looking forward to better treatment. It was shocking to me how unfamiliar the employees at this store with their own products and services. When I asked for a layout of their different plans and prices, the employee came back with a blank paper + pen and told me to take my own notes!! Are you kidding me? If that wasn't bad enough, the store manager gouged us for a higher rate immediately after committing to the new plan, calling the previous quote an "oopsie". We were hostage in that store for FIVE hours trying to activate a new account- something which should be very straightforward- due to a multitude of problems caused by the incompetence and carelessness of these employees. I reached out to customer care to share my experience, hoping something could be done to rectify these issues. 4 days & over a DOZEN service reps later, and nothing has been done to make this right. Be sure to exercise caution before making any commitments with this company. read more

I'm super grateful to the manager who really took his time with me following a misguided impulse purchase. He was so patient, kind and knowledgeable. He never showed any frustration and instead only showed that he wanted to .Akers things right. My only suggestion would be additional education for his team around taking his cue and really being present with the customer and if necessary writing information down, encouraging them to walk around the store or mall and to "sit" with the information instead of treating the interaction like a timeshare sale. Many people are visual learners and would benefit from seeing side by side comparison of their current bill and services with any new offer. Be transparent, be upfront, be honest, be patient. Build a relationship and the sale will come. While I likely will not return to this location, I feel like they have the right leadership to be a better location. read more

All in all, my experiences with this location have been positive. Tray, the customer service rep. was very professional, personable, and made me feel welcomed as a customer. He took care of my account concerns, and I walked away a much more content customer. He is definitely management material. The manager, Abel, resolved a different customer service complaint regarding an employee who provided poor customer service, in addition to displaying unprofessional behavior. I purchased a new phone at the Northgate store. When I opened the box at home, there was a small crack in the screen; not terrible and only visible at an angle. I returned to the store as soon as it opened the next day for an exchange, but was told that once I stepped out of the store, the phone was mine even if it had a defect. The store manager, Abdi, told me to call T-Mobile customer service or the phone manufacturer, but even when asked, refused to make any calls himself. He told me it was my fault for not checking the phone myself. He insinuated that I either broke the phone (the packaging was still intact except for the tape) or was not a careful buyer. Do not trust these people. They will try to sell you anything and then hide behind corporate rules. read more

I went to this T-Mobile Monday morning to join my boyfriends plan. We weren't sure of "family" rates or deposit charges and Evan was incredibly patient with all our questions. He was able to waive my activation fee because I'm a UW student and he also told us that we can get a 15% discount on our service with my UW I.D. We wouldn't have been aware of savings and discounts without Evan's help. As poor college students- it means a lot. I would recommend this store to anyone. Evan is great! read more

Well, that didn't happen here at all! I went in to get a new microsim for my iPhone and the sales associate instead offered to cut my existing one down for free and also assisted me in getting it set up! This is a review for this outstanding service I received at the actual T-Mobile store inside Northgate Mall, store #8934. There were three factors to consider before walking into T-Mobile; equipment, service and price. Our family of four had one existing line with them, and two other lines at AT&T that were at the end of their contract. We had the need for one more line, (my phone was stolen in July) and Christmas was the big plan to fill the bill for all three phones. ... um- make that potentially four, since my husband fell in love with a phone "better" than his. Both companies carry that same phone, but his existing T-Mobile HTC-HD2 was not upgrade eligible yet; it would be full retail to get the one he wanted at T-Mobile. Eating the $200.00 contract cancellation fee at T-Mobile and getting the AT&T Samsung Captivate would definitely the be least expensive way to go, and in the end wind up being the icing on the cake. I also had a need for a tablet for my daughter's birthday (...December's budget bites!) Did someone say Apple? AT&T seemed like the logical choice- an iPad, three $99.00 iPhones, and then my husband's dream phone, the Samsung Captivate, could cover it all. So how did I end up at the T-Mobile's store? This review could easily turn in the direction of a comparison/contrast to T-Mobile/AT&T, so I'll try not to go too far in depth that way. Price was the driving factor with close to an $80.00/mo difference, the former clearly stood no chance over the latter. I had already contracted both providers to price them out, so I knew my business when I walked in there. A brief mention regarding equipment: iPad/Galaxy Tab - the only regconizable drawback to the Tab is its smaller screen size quickly made up for by the fact that you are not stuck with what you pay for. A lower entry point with upgradable memory, an impossibility with the iPad. Advantage, Galaxy. On to the phone equipment: the T-Mobile MyTouch 4G easily equates and even surpasses the iPhone in many areas. I carried and adored my iPhone for 2.5 years, and it really took some convincing to even look in another direction when it finally came time to be able to replace my stolen phone. Only so much can be learned over the phone and online, so it was time to go get my hands on some equipment and check it out. For some reason, the AT&T and T-Mobile stores in the Southcenter area did not carry functioning phones. Really? What's the point? Somewhat disheartened, it was looking like a more costly AT&T/Apple Christmas, as this was tried and true equipment. In a last ditch effort, I went up to Northgate Mall, and entered the T-Mobile store, not the kiosk hoping to get a hands-on experience. I was met with no less than white glove treatment from start to finish. The store manager, Josh Gaffney, worked magic to make a lot of wireless things possible for me to present my family at Christmas. Galaxy Tab, buy one- get a free MyTouch. Galaxy Tab, split the payments into three. Nice. I'll take two Tabs, and get out the door with two phones- but where does that leave me for the other two phones? Turns out, my daughter wanted the Motorola Charm (little texter girl), and my husband's no longer desired htc-HD2? That's where the first bit of magic came into play- a simple 'exchange' put him into T-Mobile's version of the Galaxy S, the "Vibrant"- no charge! Deal breaker!!! My purchase complete, Josh pulled in two assistants to expedite the service end of the process. Christopher took over setting up the billing; his first question was "where do you (your husband) work?" This is not a credit related inquiry; my answer saved us 15% off our monthly bill and eliminated all of the activation fees for the phones and the tabs. (hint: always ask anywhere you go for service if there may be an "employee discount"- I never knew of such an affiliation browse and it has needed such a significant impact!) While the business end of things was being seen to, Josh was busy taking care of the hardware- it was a simple procedure to take the memory card out of the old HTC-HD2 and slip it into the new Vibrant. (my husband has been telling me every day since how much he loves it!) After setting up all of the phone numbers and going over the paper work, I received one last gift, a $200.00 credit to my account. It was the cancellation fee I had to pay when the phone that I'd only had with them for three months was stolen- whether this its common business or holiday goodwill, I ended up walking out the door with two Tabs and fours phones adding up to $1100.00 of retail merchandise, for just under $500.00 cash out of pocket and close to $600.00 in rebates and credits being applied before my next bill. Bang! Cell Phone Companies, Stores, Commercials... we are barraged by them every day. There are two ways to access TMobile in Northgate Mall: the regular store, and the kiosk counter in the lobby. I don't know about the regular store, but RUN- DO NOT WALK away from that kiosk counter!!! Rude, rude, rude, horrible people who could not care any less about potential customers. I had one of the worst shopping experiences, ever, today at the Northgate kiosk. I cannot believe how I was treated. If you have ANY other option, take it! read more

This is not the store I have used in the past for phone upgrades and other service needs. My phone had an issue which I thought could be addressed quickly by stopping in a store. Right as I walked In I got a bad vibe from everyone there. You are treated more as a target for them to hit a sales quota than a valued customer. Unless you are planning to buy a new phone or tablet and then get sent on your way, don't waste your time here. The two idiots I encountered -Mikey or Micah and I can't remember the other one were inept and unwilling to help. went into the store hoping to save some money on my bill paying almost $190 a month for 2 lines after taxes representative Derek Erikson helped me and set me up with a promotion that would reduce my bill to $79.98 a little over $100 after taxes and all that would change is my data and I would have a 2 year contract I should of read the papers before I signed just got my bill a little over $140 thats $40 more a month than verbally agreed to. I saved money but I would of rather not had a 2 year contract and spent $50 more a month and had unlimited data. Don't trust the people at this store read your paperwork for or go to the T-Mobile NEAR southcenter mall by the famous footwear they helped me fix everything that the guy did wrong that I didn't want like my main line only having 500 min that I use for work! read more

I came into the store frustrated with a small problem that I had with my phone. The store manager Jon able to solve my problem and go and above and beyond what I needed. Great manager and I will return to that store. read more

Just waited 15 minutes with NO acknowledgement. They don't even have a sign in sheet. Guess I'll get my new phone from Amazon...or maybe switch to Verizon? Really sad that they can't deliver customer service of any kind considering their headquarters are so close. read more

I have been a long time customer of t-mobile since 2005. Never had I had any issues with them until last Friday and today. Micheal has been helping with the situation. I have been trying to merge accounts with my boyfriend and it had been nothing but a headache and such a hassle. We where told that we would get a phone for $100 and have an instant rebate. Also, that everything and phone numbers where going to be handle and everything would be good and set for Monday. Little did we know we walking into a trap. We left Friday without phone stuck in a 2 year contract. We returned to the store on Monday to come and find out that now we don't get phone for $100 and that they will not honor what they told us about 2 days ago. There was so much negligence with the person Micheal not knowing any correct information. He told us so much wrong information about merging plans, plans, phones. He mentioned all of it after the fact that a contract was signed and got nothing from it. So much for the great customer service and being a loyal customer. Being a loyal customer doesn't get you anything with this company. Plus there is a week hold on my number to merge over to a family plan. They obviously don know how to take care of their customers!!! T-mobile is the worst. If you are thinking about joining them don't stay away from this company. Their employees don't know anything and are very incompetent! read more
