I had speakers running throughout my home from when my home was built in Whitehorse but they weren't hooked into any amp or reciever. Ty knew exactly what needed to be done and within two hours my whole house was pumping the music that I had stored on my i-tunes by using some excellent Sonos products. The next service he came out to provide was quite a large job. I had purchased a 70 inch flatscreen on line and a new Denon surround system. They moved my old TV out to the garage, installed the wall mount, ran new wiring through the wall, ran a bunch of speaker wire, upgraded all of the connective wiring in the back using state of the art technology, moved my old surround system to my bedroom upstairs, reprogrammed my all in one remote control, just basically took care of every single aspect and ensured that upon leaving everything had been completely finished to my exact specifications. This was a 10 hour process and the wiring and supplies were not inexpensive but I now have a system that will provide years and years of excellent sights and sounds. And in the future if I ever purchase another TV everything will be completely plug and play. I've hired a lot of people to do things for me over the years. *to include the "geek squad" at Best Buy who I absolutely DO NOT recommend. But nobody was as thorough and deliberate and professional and friendly as the guys at Ty's. If you want it done right, call them.

With each visit, they became increasingly expensive and decreasingly customer service oriented. In 2023 they sold us an expensive Sonos upgrade and then failed to make it work properly (we've subsequently moved over to Apple HomePods). I'm sorry to say I can't recommend them. :0( When we got a new TV and service in 2025, I went looking for another vendor. Thankfully, we found a fantastic alternative in Silverdale.

I was told at the counter, there was no *new battery in stock. So I left my laptop with them for three days (as I requested a new battery and this was the shipping time I was quoted). "New" battery goes in, and works great for eight months. The "new" battery requires service or replacement.

I would seriously reconsider if you are thinking of using this company. When I called several days later, he explained that he'd been sick, and proposed a new time, which I was happy to accommodate. He also no showed for that appointment. I haven't heard anything since. I understand that illness and other situations sometimes intrude on business; I just don't understand how a business can survive when it treats potential customers with such little respect. I set aside time and prepared my house, twice, and I didn't receive so much as an acknowledgment that he wouldn't make those appointments - at times he'd proposed himself.

The time they take shows through with high quality work. If for whatever reason, they don't have an immediate solution, they will work to either find one or direct you to someone who can help. They will not give up on a job just because it's complicated but it seems they thrive on those intellectual challange. They are very reachable by cell phone or work phone for any questions and or arranging "appointments". They have worked on big fishing vessels to small yachts.

I was looking for a very hard to find part called an "inner/outer DC block". PolyPhaser used to…read moremake one (Model IS-IE50LN-C1), but discontinued it due to lack of interest. I called several established radio supply houses and got everything from the rude brush-off to the honest "never heard of it". This was not the case with G&L. From their experience installing SSB ground planes, they knew immediately what I was asking for and why it was so important for preventing DC ground return to a metal hull caused by the VHF antenna cable. They also knew that it was not a common item in the civilian market, but was more likely to be found in military circles. They didn't have the part, but we had a nice discussion about their use of the same type of part in grounding SSB systems and offered some valuable thoughts on what a VHF-version of it would need to feature. My search for a part continues, but I had to pause and pay my regards to a company that has made a great first impression. G&L mainly services Furuno products (90% of their work), along with some iCom and other brands. Based on this experience, I would not hesitate to work with them in the future on anything Furuno or SSB-related.
