I was a T-mobile customer for more than 14 years. Over those years, I had several accounts, both personal and business. I just closed my accounts due to the terrible customer service I have received consistently over the past 2 to 3 years at this location. And I do not intend to ever open another account with T-mobile ever again. Had I been fortunate enough to live closer to another branch location other than this terribly mismanaged one, I am confident that I would still be a loyal T-mobile customer today. I'm the type of person who lacks credit and banking accounts, so I must pay all my bills with cash. Over the years, I've gotten used to the extra inconvenience that this causes. However, the manner in which this T-mobile location conducts business imposes a burden of inconvenience that is extraordinary in comparison to other companies and other T-mobile branches alike. Over the past 2 years, the typical wait time just to pay a bill with cash is 45 minutes to an hour. In addition, employees at this location often refuse to take payment due to their inadequate training with cash handling or their inexperience using the software that controls the cash register. As a result, I am often turned away, after having wasted my time, and I am forced to drive to another location to pay. Yesterday, I was informed at this branch that T-mobile would no longer accept currency older than 2013. I was attempting to pay with a $100 bill printed in 2009. It was not counterfeit and passed inspection via those testing pens you mark the bill with and see if the mark changes color. Furthermore, the bill had the watermark portrait you see when shining light through it, and it had the embedded strip that glows under blacklight, along with all the other ways you can check to make sure it's real. I brought these facts up to both the original employee who refused to take payment or provide his name, as well as an employee claiming to be a manager. Both employees lied to me, claiming that this new currency policy was mandated by corporate and there was nothing they could do. After they refused to take my payment, I had to drive to a different T-mobile location which took the exact same bill with no problems whatsoever. I could be wrong, but it seems to me that creating unnecessary obstacles that prevent a customer from giving money to the company is a bad business practice.
This latest incident, although unique in its details, was very typical in how this branch makes the entire payment process difficult and unnecessarily inconvenient. Every month I go through a similar bad experience, and every month I provide feedback directly to T-mobile corporate in the hope that it will get better. This location's terrible customer service has caused too great of an expense in my time, gas, and money over the last 3 years, and has permanently soiled the otherwise good service I received in the previous 10 years. I hope you can turn this branch around before it ruins the reputation of T-mobile in the area; I'm no longer willing to hang in there to see if it happens. If you're looking for a T-mobile location, I'd suggest the one on 518 just east of Cullen; I've never had a problem at that location after the many times that this location dropped the ball. read more
