We needed a new case for our new phone. They had 3 choices. One was an otter box, so we got it. What a quality case. High drop resistant case. We also got a glass for our screen. Terrible. Could not accept my old phone because the manager did not have his credentials. The store was open but incapable Because there was an IT issue. That they knew about for over two weeks. They owe me $300 for my old phone and somehow after three attempts to turn it in - they make up all sorts of excuses about why I can't turn it in. Scam Ben (the manager) you need to do better! fix the IT issue with the managers access for override or be available or work the shift, I don't have time to come back repeatedly because your staff Does not have the capability to do thier job. The holiday hours are posted as opening at 10 AM not just on the store window, but also the website. Well, they didn't open until 11 AM today, which is the normal opening time on a Sunday outside of the holidays. We didn't wait long at all, arriving around 10:55. It wasn't an inconvenience to us but it very well could be to someone else. Anyway, the visit wasn't brief but it wasn't complex. My boyfriend needed an upgrade on his phone and he got it. I checked for an upgrade and while I'm eligible, my XR is still running strong. I ended up just buying JBL Noise Canceling Bluetooth headphones. The employees are attentive and ready to help. When we got there it was just one person ahead of us in line, but there were three reps available. I expect weekends to be busy here and it is. If you can't find parking on the street your best bet is to try the parking garage by Trader Joe's. Edit: 1/3/23 From 3 to 4 stars. As I stated above, the employees are attentive and helpful. I called a few days after my initial visit to check if Apple Watches were in stock before making my way over. After getting some information on the Apple Watch Series 7 and 8, I was told if I had wrapping paper they'd even wrap it for me. That meant a lot to me being this was shortly before Christmas. My husband and I headed to T-Mobile at Temescal Plaza to pay our cell phone bill. Alas, we could not find a single parking space in the lot, so we left and came to this T-Mobile. We lucked out and found street parking on Lakeshore Avenue near the business, as in two doors away. The visit was brief. There was hardly anybody in the store; thus, I received service immediately. The male employee was very helpful and friendly. He accepted my payment and handed me a printed paper receipt. I was in and out of there in about five minutes. As we entered and we observed 2 male employees to the left and Ondrea was near the desk who greeted us and was eager to help us. The guys looked stoked as she asked us how we were doing and what brings us In. Ondrea went into detail explaining on getting a single line and adding a line. Since I got back an 15 Pro, she walked me patiently with resetting it to factor setting in which I do not know how much IOS is a pain. She tried to assist me as much as she could even chiringuito Cesar the Manager who was like me. As I was starting to get frustrated calling my fam for the security comes and at no time did she have no issue or seem to want to hurry with the transaction. She is def a 5 star employee and should be the store manager. She goes above and beyond and her pesos could learn a lot from her. I bought a T-mobile REVVL6 5G and was disappointed to learn that the device, although appearing to be brand new and in the box, was tampered with and loaded with malware prior to my purchase. I am not a computer programmer but was able to access the bootloader (startup software not found through the user interface) and verified that a couple of months before I bought the device, the software was replace with software used by organized criminals to target vulnerable people/populations. Luckily, I learned quickly how to enable USB debugging through the developer settings and get my phone working efficiently and how it should have been in the first place. I've actually experienced this sort of thing at multiple cell phone stores in the San Francisco Bay Area. Buyers beware! read more

As soon as I landed in San Francisco on my last visit to the Bay Area, my Google Nexus 5 broke. I immediately purchased a Google Pixel to replace it, but unfortunately, that also meant I had to get a new SIM card since the Nexus 5 uses a micro-SIM and the Pixel uses a nano-SIM. The Project Fi nano-SIM that came with my Pixel was not compatible with T-Mobile. I dropped by this T-Mobile store in Lakeshore, near Lake Merritt, before dinner and was able to get a new nano-SIM in my phone and activated in no time. A photo ID was required. I'd just lost my wallet before my trip, but luckily I had my passport on me. The total cost to me was $21.90. I wasn't sure if I'd get some sort of discount or anything for being an existing T-Mobile customer (for well over a decade), but nope. Today, I found out that my battery on the One Plus 9 5G was swelling. The phone is a little over a year old that was bought through T-mobile. I contacted T-Mobile chat about the problem and I was told to get it inspected at my local T-mobile store to find the root cause or to make sure if its related to any physical damage if any. T-Mobile rep was asking if the phone was dropped or liquid damaged , which non apply as it was pristine and condition is 10/10 as it sits in the case from day one, and also it never left the house as it was used as an emergency phone line. I was still connected to chat and upon arriving and showing the associate the phone, she automatically claim that it was physical damaged, or was not sure and took it to her manager to look at. It was no more than maybe 10 seconds, and the manager did not fully inspect the phone, and they both concluded it was physical damaged. I told T-Mobile chat of what they told me, and he didn't agree with the associate that it was physical damage. I even show the associate the conversation that he didn't agree with her inspection. I told them that it's not physical damage, and its the battery that is swelling " from the inside" and pushing the back housing out. You can even still see the adhesive hanging on to the back glass from the battery swell. I was wondering if they are blind or do they not care that situation like this is very hazardous. The associate that was helping me was clueless and not knowledgeable. The manager never came out to help resolve the situation, just hiding behind his desk in the back room. They cannot distinguish between what is defect and what is physical damaged. She even said she wasn't a technician herself, but yet she concluded the condition of the phone as physical damaged. Anyone with a brain can see that a battery swelling is not a " Physical Damage " as that is an internal issue. If i was a non techy person, i probably would have believed them. They got the wrong person today. I gave her a mouth full. They even asked me to leave. Instead of trying to resolve an issue, they would put the blame on you. I know for sure if it's not anything related to sales, the experience will be unpleasant. I have reported this store with T-Mobile for their worst customer. read more

Irritated. I said several times that I wanted to see pricing before I moved forward with the switch from Sprint to T-Mobile. Each time I was told sure, no problem, but we kept advancing steps. Finally got to the step where I needed to set a pin to activate the T-Mobile service therefore making the switch, and I was like wait, aren't you going to tell me how much it is? Only then I was told that I needed to be activated to get phone pricing. It would have been really helpful if I was told that in the beginning since I was very clear on wanting to know the price. I understand this is the way that the system is set up but it's not customer friendly and this should have been communicated in the beginning to save my (and his time). My price per month switching from Sprint to T-Mobile was already going to be more expensive plus I'd be losing a couple of subscriptions I currently get for free through them. Reminded why I don't like to bother with salespeople, it's frustrating because instead of listening to your needs and concerns they more focused on getting to the goal. Came to switch off Verizon using their promo. Was told that in order to keep my phones, I had to buy 3 cheap phones, any kind, to turn in. And then I could keep my phones. I went and got some cheap phones. When I returned, they then told me I would need to buy 3 more phones from them, but I could use mine. This info was left out earlier. So we are now at 6 phones. And then there is a 70 buck switch charge, also left out when I discussed the process with them the first time. Can you say bait and switch? Scammers. Who knows what else was left out? Uncarrier...such a joke. As bad as the rest. Edit: I wanted to update that Tmobile, through their national dial-in customer service, made this right. After being a customer of AT&T for several years, my family finally decided to call it quits with their stupid overage charges and hidden fees. Switching carriers was going to be a huge task and I'm glad that I chose this store to do my business for it. Marvin, their team sales leader, carried me through every step of the process in starting a new service with T-Mobile and was fantastic at it. We chose T-Mobile, like many others, for the ETF deal. I don't know why, but I thought it was illegal to try to give T-Mobile my old, decrepit phone instead of trading in (as advertised) my current phone. Much to my surprise, and one sad hour later of skirting around the issue, Marvin assured me that it was definitely alright and that I could even buy their cheapest phones and simply transfer the SIM cards to my family's current phone. The next step was porting over the phone numbers and that was an ordeal in itself. I had to call around 2-4 times just for this step, and also because I had a butt load of other questions. Marvin answered my questions with ease and humored me over the ones I kept asking over and over again as well... The majority of them were low-level technical ones, but he never once made me feel stupid! Every time I called, the answer time was very prompt, although the representatives can sound funnily zombie-like when advertising their promotions. All in all, the time it took to do everything was awfully long---I admit, due to my own mistakes and ignorance---but Marvin's consistent patience, friendliness, and honesty about T-Mobile's services won me over as a customer. (I am pretty sure he is tired of seeing my face and hearing my voice by now.) Beyond my own problem, the store looks very orderly and prettily pink! read more

Flat out - the worst service and staff phone plan comprehension that one could experience. T-MOBILE HAS A NEW i5 PLAN!!!!! Made an appointment to come in and get the new Apple i5 smartphone. The store rep said that the plans were changing and everything would be covered in one program with unlimited data, text, calls, etc. The day before I had called the service provider to learn about my plan - and was told that I would be paying $100 up front and $20 per month to cover the cost of the phone (this is not what the promotion claims.) Got a call the same day (Vernon) to confirm my appointment (had to be at their store at 9 AM.) Show up and the place is busy...this is a weekday, and I have appointment of my own, so I can wait a long time. Wait 20 minutes....nothing....some staff are taking breaks others looking into their monitors as if their not sure what to do...duh. I mention my time issues with one of the greeters (oh... she handed me a card that indicated that I wanted a black phone), at close to 30 minutes.....I'd had enough, and returned the card and left. The staff at this store are either ill equipped to handle a crowd, unsure of the new plans that are being offer - or just poorly trained. I would say all of above. I gave them one star, for the in store greeting when I walked in. I will not be going back to this store. read more

Worst retail experience I have ever had, and that's saying a lot. Went over to switch to T-Mobile from AT&T because they were offering a great deal. Worked with a disengaged, complacent rep for an hour and after I had finally switched over, been billed and created a T-Mobile number and account (a slow, painful process), he realized that I actually didn't qualify for the incentive. "Whoops, sorry" was basically his reaction. So we then erased the entire thing, or so I thought. I then had to spend hours haggling with AT&T in-store and on the phone to get them to reinstate my number, reopen my account and waive the closure fee. Wasted most of my day because the T-Mobile rep wasn't accurate up front with me. Thought everything was resolved and then months later received a collection's notice on a bill I now owe T-Mobile for the opened account because the rep didn't actually delete the transaction and clear it up in the system as he said. So not only was he complacent and incompetent, he didn't even clean up the mess he made and now I'm having to do damage control to ensure that my credit score doesn't drop. I'll consider taking this review down when they help me fix this, but in the meantime, customers considering switching, be warned. read more
