I have purchased 3 homes in the past and it is the first time I have complained about an inspector. The inspection (and the inspection pre-purchase document) is loaded with small print/excuses/explanations for not inspecting items, and VERY light on actual inspecting. I was ill with the flu during the inspection so I could not be there during the inspection. Perhaps that was a factor in it being this way? We paid extra for sprinkler and wood damaging insect inspections (mistake). The sprinkler inspection mentioned a couple issues but was light on details. The wood damaging insect inspection included zero photos, but did focus on a recommendation to get additional services for preventative treatment through their PARTNER. How nice of them to offer that! One other thing that bothered me was that they do a "random sampling" of checking windows for open/close functionality. Why not spend the effort to let me know if all windows open and close? I am not able to do that when I view the home the one time we are able to. What are we paying for if you are unwilling to open and close all the windows? This inspector was very diligent however in calling me to get payment. I wish he would have gone a little above and beyond the low bar of all the small print instead of just doing the bare minimum of getting in and out as quickly as possible. Never, never again. He said we did not have a lot of lent and probably didn't need cleaning. He said he could charge a trip charge or if we wanted it cleaned he would give us a discount. We chose to have it cleaned since we are selling the home as a selling point. I highly recommend this company. It's refreshing in today's world to have such an honest and professional local business.
