Horrible customer service and management. They don't hire enough people and the line is usually wrapped around because of it. I went there three separate times to buy a necklace. Who doesn't love this store?? I stop in frequently even when I don't need anything. I always leave with a basket full of great deals. This week I found a candle I wanted, notebooks, dog toys, 2 sweaters, a pot and socks. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The store is well organized and well stocked with great deals. This is my to go place when I am looking for something I'm planning to buy online. Today, I'm in a mission to buy a kettlebell 10 or 15 lb. Fortunately, the store has one in stock. I like coming to this store because you can find good deals if you have the patience to look and shift through the racks of clothing and shelves of items. The staff seemed friendly, helpful and the people I encountered seemed to offer a ready smile and greeted me while I'm busy contemplating if I want the 10 lb or the 15 lb. Overall, it's a good experience shopping in this store today, there was construction going on next building, but it does not seem to affect the business at TJ Maxx. read more

This place is difficult to shop in. I have been in this store several times only to not find anything. The quality in the set-up of the store is horrible. It is just a step above a consignment store in some ways where there are various pieces that cannot really be matched up with each other. If you are looking to put together some sort of outfit, you might want to go to Burlington Brands. It almost reminds me of shopping at a Beverly Hills Goodwill store without the names that you would recognize. read more

Yesterday I was in the area, and was looking for an outfit for an event I have tomorrow. I didn't have much time but wanted to get the shopping out of the way. I went in a looked around for a few minutes found a super cute pair of tights, and was looking for a longer sweater to go with it. I saw one on the rack that caught my eye, grabbed it and hurried to the register, as I did I realized that I left my debit card in my car so I ran out and grabbed it really fast and came back in. The girl was super nice she had everything all bagged up for me and had my total ready. I swiped my card and went on about my day ran my errands etc... I got home yesterday evening and decided to try everything on to make sure it looked good on me so I didn't wait until the last min to find out it was not at all flattering. When I pulled it out of the back I realized that there was a giant snag and hole in the front of the sweater. Needless to say I was bummed. So I went to go to return it but they were already closed (it was a sunday) so I got up this morning ran a few errands and went back to the store to exchange it. I really just wanted the same sweater (minus the hole). So the lady at the register then called a manager down (i didnt know she was a manager at the time) who came up and said "we are not going to exchange this in this condition, it has a giant hole in the front" and I'm all like um, yeah that's exactly why I want to exchange it (duh) so she proceeded to tell me that they have no idea what happens when you leave the store with an item etc etc so I asked for a manager and thats when she said she was a manager. I said this is really bad customer service and I'm going to contact corporate... So I walked out and as I did I looked down at the receipt and saw where it said If you're not satisfied with your purchase you can return or exchange within 30 days blah blah blah (yeah i definitely was not satisfied) ... so i turned around went back in and the lady in the front who had "helped" before asked me if i needed a manager so she called the manager back, this time a different lady came out, along with the first manager who was there, i explained to her the situation and she argued with me that I would have saw the hole when i bought it and the sales associate would have too... (well as i said i was in a hurry, i didnt notice it when i looked at it, or now thinking about it, i had bought a few other items when i was there maybe the girl snagged it on one of the things in the bag i wouldn't know because i was getting my debit card from my car when she put the stuff in the bag... who knows really) so anyways I argued my point that i was in a hurry and had ran out to the car to get my card (at the time i didnt even think about it getting snagged when the girl put it in the bag... ). So finally she said i'm going to exchange this this time, but we will never take back an item in this condition again (ok because I dont plan on shopping here again either) and just so you know i don't believe for one second this left this store in this condition. wow how rude!?! i mean seriously things happen, i wasn't accusing anyone of anything, i just wanted the sweater that i paid $20 for to not have a giant hole in it before i took it out of the bag. I know the price of the sweater wasn't coming out of her check... so why in the world be so rude about it??? what happened to customer service??? clearly that is out the door here... I did get a new sweater with out a hole in it, but i definitely walked away very unhappy by the treatment i received from these two women... I wont be shopping there any more. There are plenty other places that have great deals usually even better deals than tj maxx that have way better customer service.... so if you want to pay an arm and a leg for clothes with holes in them that you're not able to return then tj maxx is the place for you... other wise you may want to shop elsewhere. read more
