This comes from one brief experience but it has stayed in my mind as a negative since it happened. We saw on Google that this mall was open until 9 PM. That posting still reads this way as of this writing. This seemed instinctively odd by today's standards for normal retail closing, but we decided to give it a try. We were looking for a place to walk our grandson around and perhaps pick up a treat or two while we were out for the evening. There were still a significant number of cars in the parking lot when we pulled in around 7:40 PM, so we thought perhaps we had stumbled on something. We walked in and immediately had the sense things were winding down and that the posting was probably inaccurate. Having had only a couple of seconds to begin adjusting to reality, we were "greeted" by a sour-faced employee at the information desk who curtly informed us that "this mall closes in 15 minutes". The look on her face and the intonation of her message were effectively "why are you walking in here". I informed her that we were misled by a mistaken posting of hours. She said nothing but again, the look on her face was "That's unfortunate, but just turn around and get out." It must have made her a bit nervous that we took five minutes to stroll down the hall to see what was there. But that sort of unwelcoming attitude is the memory that will stay with me when I think of this mall. Maybe she was having a bad day or maybe she hates her job. Hard to say, but attitudes displayed in interactions have an effect and reflect on an entire business (or collection of businesses in this case). Based on this short interaction, there is definitely an opportunity for improvement. I don't want to cast negativity on everyone whose livelihood derives from this mall for the unfortunate representation of one person on one day, but reviews are based on experiences. And that sort of experience does not need to occur at any time on any day. read more

We stopped in the Florence Mall y'all when we were in the town visiting last week. I'm a big fan of exploring smaller cities as well of larger cities but for sure I like visiting small town feel good environment for him and visit in their local shops eateries whatever it is. So I went to Florence Mall it was really cool it was over next to the florist towers and says Florence y'all so it was easy to find. The mall is very large had a good food court had many cool novelty stores unfortunately some of them were shut down but that's just the business of the mall nowadays it seems that a lot of stores are shut down but this one was still Doing pretty well so if you're in the area I'd say hit up Florence Mall y'all is a cool place read more

I'm a local who remembers how great the mall used to be. Sears. It was worth seeing then. It's essentially a big food court today. It's so weird and dark walking around. I would agree if they wanted to tear it down for anything else. With Amazon etc. No one wants to walk a long way for inflated items at brick and mortar prices. read more

me and my girlfriend came to the mall yesterday around 730. We decided to go look at macys . After we were done not too long after 8 pm we were gonna go back into the mall when we got to the entrance it was locked . Someone who worked there informed us that there was 2 announcements made about it being locked .There was never any announcement or warning about it being locked. They expected us to walk all the way around to where we were parked .There was no security anywhere to be found in the mall or in the parking lot.Mall closes at 9 pm on Saturday but they start closing at 8. We had a very bad experience and Florence mall needs to fix this issue. read more

I visited the mall today for the first time in a while. I was very disappointed to see that roughly 20% to 30% of shoppers weren't wearing masks. Despite signs saying masks are required, there was no enforcement of masks or social distancing throughout the facility. Beyond not following the proper steps for COVID-19 prevention, so many of the store fronts are shuttered and the mall feels quite empty. I likely won't be returning unless I have to make another in-person return like I did today. read more

I was looking to buy a new pair of shoes and the hotel I was staying in recommended this mall. I live in Nashville TN so this mall was quite a disappointment compared to our malls. I looked high and low for quality shoes and the shoe stores here were subpar. The selection was mediocre. I expected to find a larger selection of stores. There were many empty storefronts. And the stores they do have I have no interest in. So I left the mall empty handed. Definitely will not be going here again. read more

Dangerously warm inside! Stopped here on 7/26/24 to do school shopping. There was no air conditioning working in the entire building. Unsafe working conditions for all employees and a miserable shopping experience. We had to go shopping somewhere else it was that bad. read more

Decent size mall. Have stores and eateries in the mall of were I would shop and eat. Security is present and cover the span of the mall. Mall is a nice size to also walk for exercise (which I did). There is also a carousel within the mall for kids and a kids spot where the kids can run and play and ride the animals. read more

I have an eight month old Labrador Retriever puppy that I was hoping to a photo of Santa with. The advertisement says everyone can get a photo with Santa including pets. I load the family up and go out to the mall for the photo and security chases us out saying no pets. When I say the website says pets are welcome he informed me that was only on Monday. I honestly couldn't tell you the last time I had been in Florence Mall prior to Sunday night. And after my experience Sunday, I can't tell you the next time I will go out of my way to stop by. We stopped in to walk around a bit and maybe pick up a few Christmas presents. The mall felt drab and a bit depressing, especially with the Sears now closed. This mall used to be extremely festive during the holidays but there were hardly any decorations at all. It seemed as though every other store was vacant. There are still a few stores worth checking out like the Hallmark, FYE and a few others. We ended up leaving without making any purchases. First time visiting this mall. Visited a whole bunch of malls since I came to visit the Cincinnati area and this place didn't dissapoint at all. Bountiful abundance of parking spaces are here, it has a beautiful food court. Merry go round was a nice attraction. Plenty of common stores you can find at most malls and plenty of chains I've never heard of. The mall is very clean, everyone is friendly even the janitor. Out of the 6 malls I visited in a 50 mile radius of Cincinnati, this one is the best. I'm surprised this mall doesn't have a Starbucks! I'm not complaining too much about it. I got dress coded for my skirt being too short for it not being all the way to my knees my a "security officer" this mall needs to hire real people with real jobs instead of harassing customers. I come here frequently since it's close to home. I like that there's plenty of food options and shopping options. However, my husband complains there's not enough things to cater to the male population. I know there's plenty of shoe stores and clothing stores. I'm just sad that a lot of the stores are closing which means business is not that great. Anyway, the place is clean and it's not so crowded, there's not a lot of kids loitering or just hanging out- what I mean with this is there are not a lot of kids that seemed to be so young unsupervised or unaccompanied by adults. It's a good place to have your steps in especially when it's too hot or too cold, I observed several people going around fast walking. read more

I'm so glad to see Florence Mall still standing and over coming the trying times that malls have suffered through over the last few years. After all, these are the days of Amazon. I've been to this mall countless times when I was a teenager, while visiting my friend in northern Kentucky. It was one of the only places in the area to hang out at. Who wasn't a mall rat as a teenager? Anyways, we stopped in on our way to Indiana today and walked around both stories of the entire mall. They still have a Sears and an Aeropostale! I figured that once those went out of business in Lexington, they were out of the business entirely. Surprisingly, you will find them here. We started our trek around, on the second floor. It circles around and then we headed down the escalator and circled around the first floor. No back tracking at all. I think at one time this was the largest mall in Kentucky. I'm quite sure that is no longer the case, but at least it's still here. Welcome to Florence, y'all. read more

This is the mall I go to when I need to buy something. Crestview Hills is where I go to shop. To guys there is no difference, but females know what I'm talking about. It does have my favorite store (New York & Company), and some of my other regular stops include Payless, Victorias's Secret (love those free panty coupons), and Bath & Body Works. But something about the place makes me not want to stick around any longer than I have to. Maybe it's all the annoying kiosk people that everyone else wrote about. Or because even though the inside 'looks' modern, it 'feels' older. It could also be that I'm bothered by there being 2 Lids stores within eyesight of each other. It's only two miles away, so when I feel like mall-ing, this is usually where I end up. I like this mall... I just don't LOVE it. read more

The mall bathrooms are always extremely dirty! The food court is also a mess and absolutely disgusting. The cleanliness of this mall is very poor compared to other malls I've been to, such as Kenwood Mall. This mall doesn't have that many good stores either. You'd be better off driving to Kenwood Mall where you can find a larger selection of stores. read more

I enjoy going to the Florence Mall from time to time. It's definitely along the lines of the slightly dated malls like Eastgate and Tri County but it's also one of the better kept ones. The food court stands out for the food selection and that awesome carousel. I think it's kind of cool that they have a Buca Di Bepo..you don't see that often connected to a mall. The restaurants surrounding the mall are pretty good as well..a lot to choose from. The stores they have here are pretty standard for malls these days. There's a little something for everybody. I enjoy that they have one of the nicer FYE's in the area. There are vacancies here and there but not too many. There are some odd off putting stores that the more thriving malls don't have here and there but again not too many. It seems to always be crowded on the weekends so that's a good sign. I think the last time I was at Florence Mall, it was one store--just kidding--but it must have been 1987. It seems to be a bit upscale now, although the jewelry store with the Breitling displays has gone. Of course, it has the typical range of mall stores and Macy's, JC Penney, and Sears as anchors. The food court had a good variety including a Pho (VietNamese noodles) shop that looked a good value. I don't believe there was enough seating, which says success. I didn't really see anything I needed but it's a good location and with Barnes & Noble across the Mall Road, plus HH Gregg fairly close, the whole area is in good shape and you can avoid crossing the river to shop. read more

This is a good mall and is one of the two in Northern Kentucky. It's an indoor mall, which in my book, makes it better than the other Northern Kentucky mall, but the stores lack some of the 'class' that the other mall does. The best part of the mall is the water tower near the interstate, which use to read "Florence Mall" until someone found it unfit to advertise a private business on a publicly funded water tower. The now infamous tower reads "Florence Y'all". Parking is ample, but at Christmas time, the parking and traffic is a nightmare. Expect to spend an hour to get in and another hour to get out. I avoid this area at all costs on weekends in December. It is held together by 4 department stores: JCPenney, Sears, Macy's and Macy's Home. Notable stores: Gap, Victoria's Secret, Express Nearby restaurants include Smokey Bones and Olive Garden. read more

I usually stop at this mall whenever driving back from Cincy to Louisville. It's a decent regional mall with a good food court (I'm usually passing through around lunchtime). It appears to be a typical 1970s mall that has been through a few updates. Today, the updates hold up well and it's an attractive mall. One of the main entrances was remodeled a few years ago with a style that I call "retro-Jetsons." I think it looks great! The malls has traditional anchor stores all connected by two levels of shopping bliss. There is a great play area for kids--one of the best I've seen at a regional mall. Overall, this place has everything that a mall should. UPDATE: Once again, I was making a routine stop during my drive back from Cincy to Louisville. The whole area around the mall is just booming with retail and it has really become a shopping mecca. Rather than pulling business away from the mall, all the great and newer shopping choices around the area seem to have given this mall a renewed life. It thrives as a shopping "hub" for the entire area. The selection of typical middle-class stores are still good and doing well; and the mall still looks great. Always a good size crowd. The seating in the food court may be new--not sure--but it looks great in a "Frank Lloyd Wright" way. Love it. read more

Shopping at Florence Mall is enhanced by its surroundings - in addition to the usual mall staples inside, there is store after store in the surrounding shopping centers. It also provides other options for food. Sears, JCPenney, and Macy's (two - one a home store) anchor the mall, while mall favorites like Bath and Body Works, Aeropostale, Build-a-Bear, f.y.e, and the like can also be found inside. The entertainment for kids is pretty cute - there is a two-story carousel, a play area featuring Northern Kentucky landmarks, and a trackless train (which has a cost). The food court provides a good variety of options, and there is a Buca di Beppo. Smokey Bones and BJ's Brewhouse are just outside of the mall. A nice mall if you're in the area. read more

this is the BIG problem with Florence Mall and the reason why i won't go there again They set up all these Merchant booths in the middle of the mall, mostly cell phone companies. These people that work their are sooooooooo rude and you can not go from store to store without being constantly bothered (and dare i say, HARASSED) by them! Im walking to one store and i get one guy making robot noises and point at me (so i would stop to talk), there are people coming up to me from all ends asking to try perfume or get a massage..its annoying The worst one was another cellphone jackass who looks at me while i'm walking by and says "hey man whats up!"..i keep walking like its a homeless man asking for change and he goes "oh i see..its like that!" now i'm being berated while trying to be a patron at a shopping establishment. Its too much. I just want to go to the stores i want to go to without constantly having people trying to take my money. Florence Mall is a miserable experience! read more

I agree with Sarah and Jessica's comment about the Florence Mall, it spiraling down ward. Northern Kentucky is one of the fastest growing area in the nation, except for the Florence Mall. The Mall management Is horrible, they don't do anything fun, or have activity to stir up some traffic. I feel the mall traffic is horrible compared to 20 years ago. The Florence Mall feels so sterile, as in boring. They don't have any excitement for new reviving stores compared to Kenwood Towne Center. I literary drive out of my way to goto Kenwood mall. Come on Florence Mall, wake up this is 2011, Dahhhh. The only good side they did is the new landscaping and cutting down the old nasty trees. The City of Florence re-did Mall road. read more

Florence Mall= 3 1/2 stars Maybe it's because this is the only mall I ever knew until I had my drivers permit, but color me unimpressed. Florence Mall has spent a lot of money to keep up with the Joneses (i.e. Crestview Hills), but I think that the dough they spent on the renovated food court/kiddie carnival could have been more wisely allocated to entice more shops. In fact the food court offerings are a fragment of what they were pre-rehab and several vendors (Ann Taylor, Wilson Leather, etc) are pulling up their stakes and heading out. With anchor stores like Macy's, Sears, JC Penney's, shoppers have their choice of standard Midwestern garb and decor to peruse. Other shopping mall standards include Gap, Abercrombie, American Eagle, Express, Yankee Candle, and more. On a positive note, I love Flash Photography and Cosmic's. While one is family the oriented, the other not so much. On a negative note: reign in the parasitic vendors that accost passersby. I know they're just doing their job, but, sheesh, I'm trying to mall-walk. No way, did I just say that outloud? Color me old. read more

Maybe it is the market, the economy, or competition, but Florence Mall has declined over the years in my opinion. The new revamped food court area is nice and is a big improvement over the last one. The old food court was cramped and difficult to use. Wait lines for food and full seating was common. The mall has too many unused storefronts which never look good. The Macy's store here is small and low on selection compared to it's other locations. read more

What keeps me coming back to a MALL? I'll tell you! It is the fact that this is the only place in the country that has Pholicious! It is a Pho shop located in the food court and it is AWESOME! If I needed to describe Florence Mall in a word, it's "interesting". Florence Mall has undergone quite a lot of turnover in the last few years. Many stores have come and gone (Disney Store left this year, replaced by Toys R Us express; Body Central came in a couple years ago, Forever 21 wasn't there 3 years ago), the food court is completely different from about 2004 (No more Taco Bell, new places such as Panini Sandwich Grille, Currito's, and Dairy Queen/Orange Julius), and the stores that have stayed have themselves changed (Sears has remodeled, as has JC Penney; Macy's used to be Lazarus). But some stuff is still the same...you still have Sears and JC Penney, you still have Bath and Body Works, FYE, and Journey's. If there are any negatives, it's the aggressive vendors that set up in the middle of the different wings of the mall. ESPECIALLY the cell phone vendors. They are the ones that annoy me most. When I say I'm happy with my service provider, leave it at that! Overall, Florence Mall gets four stars. Maybe even 4.5 - but the aggressive vendors take away from what could have been a 5 star rating either way. read more

Overall an ok mall that fits the bill for most people. Parking was ample and I recommend a memorable spot (like Macy's) so you don't succumb to mall parking amnesia. I was majorly bummed that Brookstone was not here as I was jonesing for a free chair massage. No stop to a mall is complete without some Auntie Anne's pretzels and fortunately they have a spot in the food court. And the carousel! Cool. Reminds me of the old Forest Fair one but is a bit larger. People watching is of course a delight here and while Dawn and I were leaving a store, we happened to see mall security place a man face down on the ground and arrest him. read more

The Florence Mall (y'all) is to malls as Taco Bell is to tex-mex cuisine: a nice attempt, but you're not fooling anyone into thinking it's awesome. Even when I lived in NKY, I'd drive the extra 20 minutes to Kenwood for some REAL mall shopping. The layout of the Florence Mall is awful. They cram as many stores as close to the food court as possible, and most of them are good ones: Express, Forever 21, Gap, etc. but there are other great stores that SHOULD be with all of those that are located clear across the mall from them. It's frustrating when there's one single store (H&M) on the other side of the mall from everything else that is similar to it. That's just one gripe. This place always seems like something is under construction, and that something is always closing. The quality of the stores that ARE there are smaller than their equivalents at other local malls. The H&M at Florence only has women's clothes and is very small. The H&M at Kenwood is huge and has men's, kid's, and women's clothes. This goes for Forever 21 and many other stores as well. One thing that would quickly bring the Florence Mall up a notch would be if it gets an Apple Store. That gets immediate bonus points in my book! (But, I doubt that will ever happen, nor should it.) I only go to the Florence Mall after work if I need something immediately, but now that I live farther away from it than I did when I was in NKY, I really have less of a reason to visit this place... which is okay by me! read more
