Since the neighborhoods of Edwardsville and Kirkwood are similar, the merchandise in both stores is very similar. Actually, I would be in amazement if someone went into a Home Goods store and walked out with nothing. I think I've only been able to accomplish that once. I can always find some little trinket for the current holiday, a new pot for the kitchen or some new scoop bags for walking the dogs. If you can't find something for yourself at Home Goods, I am confident you'll find a gift or two for a friend or family member. If you haven't been, get yourself out of the house and go shopping. I hated going into the ghost mall and trekking past empty stores to go get my BBW fix. I hated it so much, that I just did without. Now that it is in this rejuvenated strip mall, I am back to stocking up on soft soaps and candles. Being gone for a while, I was impressed with the expanded Men's selection of skin care products. The new store is organized and laid out well. It's just a few stores down from the new Marshall's that I have become obsessed with, so I am confident that I will be shopping both stores frequently. Both sales associates I had an interchange with, were super friendly and professional. They made my shopping experience fun. The cashier, got me hooked up with their rewards program and I've already cashed in on my first perk. Go ahead, call me a shopaholic.

However, here at the new location in Glen Carbon, that is not the case. There's nothing nearby, but the positive is the layout and space of the store is so much better. Browsing the GB makes you feel like you are shopping, RH or Pottery Barn. Also, I am a big fan of Olive and Cocoa, a mail order catalog. My most recent visit, I found several items from the catalog, in TGB and I'd rather buy local, then from a major catalog. This store is amazing, the staff is always eager to help. If you shop like me and don't need help, they are cool with that, too. I can spend my money, without any help. If you're decorating your home, or if you need a gift for mom, your BFF and the school teacher, I'm telling you to come here and shop. I challenge anyone to come here and try to leave without buying something. You'll always find an item you gotta have.

Lucky for me, yesterday I was having lunch in E-ville, so I made a point to stop and see what they had to offer. OMG! The creative side of my brain was working at warp speed trying to figure out where I could use many of the items. The couple working were a true mom & pop team. Ziena has jeans, blouses, dusters, necklaces, permanent jewelry, sparkly custom patches that can be placed on clothing or cosmetic bags, and more. I expected the prices to be high, but I was pleasantly surprised that they were reasonable. I've shopped full-price retail stores that are not this well organized. I liked that they have mens shirts separated by style. It made it easy to shop for short sleeve casual. I got lucky today and found three shirts. They were clean, had all their buttons and I didn't see any rips or holes. Once I rewash and iron them, they'' be ready to go. I went to use the self check-out and they had a young lady there who did it for you. She was great. She was perky, friendly, personable and professional. Other retailers would be lucky to have someone as good as her. I'm getting over my dislike of thrift shopping, so I'll be back.
