While at this food oasis waiting on my açaí bowl from sweet hula I could smell the garlic heaven wafting through the air and had to come back later to give them a try. The storefront is simple, modern, clean appearance, and the lady behind the register was very sweet and was excited for us to try all of the different options, service was 5/5. We ordered the chicken yakitori with rice, garlic noodles with yakitori, ribeye, and shrimp. The flavor and cook of each meat was perfect, and seasoned to perfection. Finger licking good 5/5. The only complaint was how small the portion of meat is. I expected adding $12 dollars of shrimp & $14 of ribeye would come with more skewers, so price of $22 and $25 a plate vs quantity you receive didn't really align for me. The noodles are amazing. The bread crumbs in it really put it over the top, I only wish there had been more noodles 4.75/5. Overall I rate Sokai a 4.9/5. read more

We ordered on the tablet, the food came out within 10 mins. We ordered the garlic noodles with chicken yakitori, came out to $20ish. Usually any garlic noodles are oily, but not these! I am not a huge fan of ordering on the tablet just because I prefer having someone to ask questions to, but the people at the window were available if you caught them while they called ready orders. I got the garlic noodles and shrimp skewer. WOW! You can really taste the fresh garlic and seasonings and can tell it was cooked fresh on a nice hot wok. I did get garlic fatigue after a little, but it heats up well so leftovers are totally fine with me! My mom and sister didn't prefer the breadcrumbs, but I enjoyed the textural element. I tried the chicken skewer plate because I saw it in front of someone at a table, and it looked great. The pleasant person at the window "upsold" me to noodles instead of rice, because he said "Noodles are our thing." That was a mistake on my part. Unfortunately, the noodles ruined the meal for me. I found they tasted overly "earthy," similar to truffles. They had the appearance of classic wavy ramen noodles, but were not what I expected. The skewers were coated with something I didn't recognize or enjoy. I paid over $25 after tipping for a small meal that I threw away. From previous reviews here, I see I'm in the minority, so if you're a fan of garlic ramen noodles, trust the other reviews. If you're not a garlic ramen noodle fan: beware the "upsell." It seems to have added nearly $10 to the bill. I'll leave this food truck to you, and return to the four or five others in the Food Oasis trucks that I find consistently better. First off, service was great--friendly staff and my food came out fast (about 6 minutes), which is perfect when you're grabbing a quick bite. The noodles were well-cooked with a solid savory flavor and good texture. Sesame seeds and green onions added a nice touch. However, the "soy-garlic" flavor leaned heavily toward soy--the garlic was very mild and honestly hard to detect, which made the dish feel a bit misleading. The garlic shrimp were juicy and cooked properly, but again, the garlic flavor didn't really come through. Also, $11 for just four shrimp feels a bit steep, even for Maui. Portion size was decent, but overall it felt like a good dish that didn't fully deliver on its advertised flavor. read more

Sokai Pacific Rim has one serious highlight - the Ribeye Skewer. Absolutely incredible. Perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and honestly worth the higher price tag every single time. It was so good I had to go back and order it again - zero regrets. I also tried the boba, which was just okay. Not bad, but a bit underwhelming, especially compared to the food. Overall, a great spot with good food and some standout dishes - especially that Ribeye Skewer. I'd come back for that alone. read more

We got 2 types of milk tea and 1 order of soup dumplings. After we tried each item they checked in with us to see how we liked our food and drinks. They were all delish. Thought I'd try a very clean and sleek-looking food truck, but was severely disappointed by the watery boba. And when I say water - it's water, syrup, ice, and boba pearls. Terrible! If you want boba, go support local in town (I just happened to be in Kihei grabbing food). Street Market Boba, West Side Boba, and S7 are where you'll find actual delicious boba drinks. read more

Overpriced frozen food and uncultured menu. My wife is Taiwanese-Hawaiian. She was super excited to see Taiwanese items like boba tea and xiaolongbao on a menu ANYWHERE on Maui. The soup dumplings were 100% from the frozen section at Costco or Sysco. Nothing homemade about them. The skewers were lackluster basic flavors. Now the boba milk tea or "boboa" as they have it on their menu - absolutely terrible. Powdered mixes that separate in the Kihei sun. Boba was gross and not the quiqui texture you're looking for. Do not eat here if you're looking for good pacific rim food. Located in south Maui gardens which has stunning scenery and plenty seating. read more
