Very rude,very arrogant Doctor. I'm sorry I paid him, I wish I could get it back! I filled out all the paper work a head of time and I was there 10 minutes early as they requested. I waited 1 hour and 15 minuteson top of the 10 minutes. When I mentioned it to the doctor he didn't show the smallest sympathy! Instead he said " you waited 1 hour, now you are here, do you want to talk about that or your disease? "!!! Then he added its up to me if I want to come back to him or not!!! I won't go back to him even if my life depends on it! I'm a RN with 17 years acute experience. I know the difference between a good or bad doctor. I did not have this doctor by choice. I was rushed to hospital and he ended up being one of the attending doctors while I spent 2 days in the hospital. I supposedly was sent a bill (never received it), but since I hadn't paid, they sent it to collections. I ended up calling my insurance to get all the information (location, my responibility for payment, etc) and contacted them to pay. They told me I could only pay in person and with cash or check. Weird but w/e. At the time I worked in Irvine and was trying to get to this side of town before they closed. I spent over an hour in traffic and 10 minutes before "closing time" I called to say I was on my way. The *female dog* that answered said that they were closed. I asked her if they were closing early, she said that the person who handle's payments is not taking anymore today. Fine. I'll play your game. So next day, I leave suuuuuuuuper early, and take myself up there an hour before they closed. I go and stand by the window, and two females are engaged in a non work related conversation. There is nobody in the waiting room. I stood there for a good 5 minutes before I was acknowledged. I told her I was there to pay a bill. She started with "I told you...." Ummmm first of all, I'm not your child. The only person that I allow to talk like that to me is my mom. Anyway, she said she TOLD me to bring the bill. HEIFER, I would not be here IF YOU HAD SENT THE BILL. I told her she didn't tell me anything, BUT I do have the EOB from my insurance in my car. So I go downstairs to my car to retreive it and come back up. I had a check ready, wrote it out and handed it to her expecting some kind of receipt. She just took it and walked away. I had to ASK for a copy of the check and a receipt. She just gave me a copy of the check.... I was so hot, I had to leave because I was gonna catch a case messin with someone like her. This Dr.'s office is consistently at least 30 minutes late for appt times. If you have a 2pm appt then no need to show up until 3pm or later, they won't call your name before that. Also, the Dr isn't very proactive. They'll let a thyroid problem go on untreated for months before doing anything. Find a different Dr and office if you can. read more

I did not choose this Doctor nor his office. I recently moved from Texas to California and my insurance told me to go to him. The first ever visit I had with him, I wait over an hour to be seen. Then, once I was in the room, I had a total of maybe, I am being generous here, 5 minutes with the actual doctor. I got maybe a total of 10 minutes with his PA. I then struggled to get my insulin supplies through his office/my insurance. As of January, I got new insurance and I updated them, maybe mid January? Maricela (sp?) from the office, who is in charge of sending authorizations to the insurances seems to be doing the bare minimum. It is now nearly April and I have not yet received any of my pods. She does not call me to update me about my supplies. I have been given the run around by her, the insurance and the suppliers. I am sick and tired of this. Maybe this is how California medical insurance and doctors work and if it is, this is a piss poor way to handle someone's health. Imagine if I did not understand English. Imagine being left out in the cold without a way to inject your insulin. Thank the Gods I can speak English and can inject my insulin in different methods. Usually there's a lot of people that's true and there might be a little wait that's true But for the most part you're probably get your doctors visit in and out... in like 45 minutes possibly less. The staff seem to be real friendly they may not be giggles and smiles but are definitely attentive. The doctor themselves seem to come in greeting you with an very big smile. They seem to know all about you as if you were there yesterday no matter which they greet you & if positive powers is on your side you'll be out in 15 minutes or less Hooray!!!! read more

I honestly don't know why this Doctor has so many bad reviews. I visited his office today for the first time and it was a breeze. The office staff was friendly, and worked really quickly. I waited less than 15 minutes from my appointment time unlike a lot of reviews posted here. Dr. Syed was very professional but you could tell he was concerned and cared for my well being. He explained everything in clear simple terms, and is willing to let me participate in my treatment plan. Worst doctor I've ever had. I had to come here because of an insurance referral, and from the very first visit I had until now, which is now a year later, the experience has gotten considerably worse. The doctors don't pay attention to anything that you say, such as when you tell them what your carb to insulin ratio is, and they respond by telling you to change your ratio and prescribe you half the amount of insulin you actually need. On my following visits, I had a rising A1C and they looked at me in disbelief and told me that it went up (Oh really! I wonder how that happened?!). Eventually I was switched to a pump because I was told I would be a good fit for the pump, and this required a change in insulin from Novolin to Humalog. Not only was I never given a prescription for Humalog, but upon calling the front office to find out when I would be receiving one for Humalog, they could only tell me they had a prescription for the Novolin (which doesn't work with the pump), and it pretty much sounds like they have no idea that I was even put on the pump. The doctor will not follow up with you, and I have felt nothing but NEGLECT the entire time I've been under this doctor. I cannot change my carb to insulin ratio because you don't want to prescribe me that much insulin, and I refuse to believe that they are so busy that they would leave me in the dark without any prescription for the pump at all. There is just WAY too much miscommunication between everyone in that office and it's horrible. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU CAN AVOID IT. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more

Wow, I thought I was the only one who had problems with this office. I have been going to see Dr. Mahmood for a year now and have nothing good to say about the office staff. They are not helpful, and VERY RUDE! Every time I have had to make an appointment or be seen there is an issue with the office staff. When I have escalated it to the Manager Marcy, she does nothing to satisfy the patient, or offer an alternative solution to whatever the issue may be she is just argumentative. I let the doctor know about the situation, she herself said she knows about the problem and has had others comment about the staff, but nothing is done. I suggest you go to another doctor, because that's exactly what I'm planning to do too! If this doctor was really concerned about good patient csre, she would take action! My doctor referred me to Doctor Syed and faxed over my information and everything. I was able to make an appointment with them about a month ago. When I called in today, to check on my appointment time, they said that my name and birthday was never in their computer. I don't get it. How can they be so sloppy? They can't give me an appointment if they didn't input my name and date into the database, and if they did, why don't I exist in the computer? Unfortunately, I have to start from square one again: have my family doctor fax over my information again... and I have to wait a month and a half for my appointment with Doctor Syed. If I could put 0 stars I would. I have a life threatening adrenal disease but I have an HMO. When I got my new insurance I started having problems with my disease. I got so sick that I dropped a dress size but had to wait for a referral to an endocrinologist. I got referred to this office and they won't fit me in for an for 5 weeks. I explained to the person answering the phone that it is life threatening and I have been having a lot of problems with it lately and can't she just squeeze me in sooner? She couldn't care less. She asked if I got the bloowork done at my regular doctor's office. I told her my disease is rare (1 in 100,000) - regular doctors don't know how to treat it or what to look for. I told her that's why I need to see an endocrinologist. If you are really sick or have a rare disease, do not see this doctor. read more

First a quick disclaimer--my doctor is Mahmood, located in the same office as Syed, and I have yet to deal with the latter. This place is garbage in general though. On half my visits I've either been kept waiting forever, turned away because I was more than 15 minutes late (I wasn't) or the appointment was canceled at the last moment. This last time the doc went on vacation and I wasn't even alerted; the office supposedly left a voice mail, but all I received were automated ones asking me to confirm the appointment. I get voice mails every day--why would I miss a specific one when my phone is always on and my number hasn't changed? So I missed work to drive to an empty office, then was told I could switch to Syed for his better hours. They should have mentioned that in the first place! Calling to reschedule was a comedy of errors as well. The very same person who'd offered a 4:40 appointment had no idea I'd canceled it with someone else, then told me 4:30 is the latest they offer. When I said that she herself had offered 4:40 just a day earlier, she said, "Oh, I'll have to look further ahead on the calendar for that." Gee, what an inconvenience! She also stated my lab results never arrived, so the whole thing would've been a complete waste of time even if Mahmood had shown up! The actual appointments are five-minute rush jobs where the wait is longer than the conversation itself. When I requested a phone chat with the doctor instead, she declined and the reason was given as, "I don't know why." These people have no idea how their office even functions and they sit ten feet from one another! Finally, I almost got turned away when I went into the actual blood lab the last time. All I had was a scribbled photocopy of notes where the contact info was barely legible. No official form and if I hadn't been able to make out the phone number, I would have been sent packing. This office is so mind-bogglingly inept that it actually affects their patients' service at OTHER facilities. On one occasion they even drew my blood themselves, wouldn't allow me the simple requst of lying down first, and I nearly passed out as a result. I'm contacting my primary for a new referral, even if it's 20 miles away, because anything is better than dealing with this circus of lazy, apathetic, overbooked incompetence. read more

HORRIBLE!!!!!! I work in N. Hollywood and leave 2 hrs early to make it to my appointment on time b/c of traffic. I arrive a good 10-30 min early everytime to be seen on time and im seen 2 to2 and half hours LATER!!!!! EVERYBODY is always complaining in the waiting room... they over book appointments and theres never anywhere to sit, people are even standing outside on the wall. I called to make my appointment in march and i was Sceduled an appointment end of may (im fine with that bc I was a new patient) I show up to my appt and this medical assistant which has no people skills tells me I was never scheduled. (do you really think I would drive all the way from the san fernando valley to Anaheim if I had no appt!!!!....anywho ive been to them 3 times already and its always the same thing...Im changing them once my insurance approves my new Dr.....and as nice as Dr. Aleem is he is so busy and in such a hurry that I just dont feel he really gives his undivided attention....by the way the last time I was there I was in to just get my blood test results I waited to hours for him to read me my results and I got kicked out 4 min later....I have so many more complaints about that office....ugh... read more
