I truly don't even know where to begin, but I am beyond disappointed and utterly shocked with this office. There was absolutely no compassion and zero accountability from Dr. Afrasiabi. What started as a small bump on my father's skin -- which he specifically expressed concern about -- was brushed off by Dr. Afrasiabi as "possibly an infected pimple." We trusted her professional judgment, and that was a mistake. That so-called "pimple" turned out to be a fast-growing aggressive cancerous tumor. We just spent 12 hours in the hospital between radiology scans and a three-hour surgery to remove the tumor. When we returned to this office last week, Dr. Afrasiabi didn't apologize, didn't show empathy, and didn't take any responsibility for the misdiagnosis. She acted as if getting cancer was no big deal. And mind you all 3 devices of EKG were broken the day of our visit, which needed to be done urgently to get clearance for his operation today on 12/3/25. The lack of compassion was shocking. No patient -- especially someone facing a cancer diagnosis -- should ever be treated this way. I am deeply disappointed that someone like this Dr. Afrasiabi is allowed to care for patients. This may have been prevented months ago if the doctor had listened to my father's concerns and taken his symptoms seriously. But now we are forced to spend the next week anxiously waiting for biopsy results, praying the cancer hasn't spread and hoping for the best possible news. If you're looking for a doctor who listens, shows empathy, and takes concerns seriously, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. read more

Well since you replied with a snarky combative response as expected given I already wrote about your unprofessional, uninterested, dismissive and cold bedside manner.. I'll respond. I found another Dr who actually ran further tests after wanting to see me "IN PERSON" instead of your cash grab 2 min "tele-health" calls, She listened politely and attentively. Turns out my concerns, symptoms and complaints warranted further testing and they were necessary given I have been diagnosed with a potentially serious health condition that could have been corrected easier and less expensive and invasive. You didn't listen. You don't care. $.. I'm now on disability and I get treatment every single day for 3 months.. as far as the insurance, I didn't know about the double dipping until I logged on to my app and saw "claims denied".. and sure enough, they were submitted 2 months after I had already payed cash! After the horrible experience can I really be expected to contact your office inquiring about bills that I paid cash for and my insurance denied because I wasn't covered during that period?? Hello!!! That's why I paid CASH!! I already took it up with the insurance and they did confirm that they were submitted 2 months later. It's currently under review. Anything else? Dr. Afrasiabi is a genus. She has a special talent and truly knows her stuff. At first I was hesitant to switch my primary physician, but as soon as I walked into the office I was greeted by the lovely staff who's kind, professional and sincere. They engaged in a conversation with me which made me feel like I had been there before. I filled out paperwork and within minutes I was taken back, where I met Dr. Afrasiabi. Dr. Afrasiabi really cares about her patients, she asked me questions I've never been asked before. I let Dr know about my symptoms and she had me take several tests to find out my condition. Finally a doctor that can add up all of the clues and find out what's wrong with you! I have had 2 appointments with dr. A and she has already cured my headaches of 10 years! My first visit she took me into her office and actually talked to me! She looked over all of my previous medical history and ask me a lot of questions. And in doing this she was able to put the pieces together and actually solve My Health crisis! It is CRAZY that we still have doctors like Afrasiabi allowed to practice medicine. Every single experience I had with this DR has been a nightmare. As most of her patients should know, she only takes cash for her suboxone customer, she insists on paying a first time fee and then a $100 fee each returning visit in exchange for the prescription. This is not uncommon practice but she takes it one step further and will try to bill your insurance to get additional money if you stop being a patient at her office. The first two visits were not too bad other than her rude front desk who always seem inconvenienced if you had any type of questions, i shrugged and moved on. The third visit is when I started to become more alarmed- I had mentioned how my neck was feeling a little stiff but it probably was nothing as I slept on it wrong- she immediately insisted on giving me a shot to help out with this, before I could ask what the shot was, what the cost of the shot was, and if I really even needed it, her little helper was in the exam room with me giving me a shot with no opportunities for me to slow down this process. Of course, when I went to go leave, they had a $35 bill waiting for me for agreeing to the shot. It felt uncomfortable as it was laid on me so quickly but it wasn't too large of a sum of money so I just agreed to pay. As I was leaving, Dr Afrasiabi decided she wanted to provide me welbutrin- at this point, she told me I could not get it through my insurance and I had to pay cash- She gave me a one month supply and charged me $90 which I found extremely strange. I have never been a prescription from the doctor over the counter, made to pay cash, and knowing I could of gone through insurance. I tried asking questions but they quickly skipped over them and it was clear they are simply trying to collect as much cash as possible At this point, I decided to seek out another DR, I found a very well respected DR whom I explained my experience with Dr Afrasiabi with and he was extremely alarmed and stated the selling of Welbutrin over the counter for cash is in a gray area but she did to earn more cash from the patient. I immediately stop seeing Dr Afrasiabi at this point as it was clear she was only after the money. They started to harass me via phone calls claiming I owed them $600 - this would be impossible as every visit they made me pay cash and would not write a prescription until they got THEIR MONEY. I received a $600 bill in the mail now, I spoke with their billing department, after explaining the situation- they decided to waive the $600 - they did not waive the $600 because they are kind - they waived it as they know this DR is scamming people out of their money and then billing the insurance companies to double dip. Who would waive a $600 fee for no reason? NO ONE, they were covering up so I would go away and they could keep doing this to others. She prays on recovering addicts who need this medicine. After speaking with other doctors in the industry, it was told to me that her reputation is known. It will only be a matter of time before everyone comes to this realization. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Find a doctor who cares and will not use you for your money. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Afrasiabi for more than three years. She is a very compassionate doctor and always cares. I always enjoy her sense of humor too! She has a very nurturing presence and takes time to figure out what is going on with you. Over the years, as healthy as I am, I have had issues with chronic coughs that linger, and she was able to get rid of it with some medication. She is an internal medicine doctor, so she is always considering the long term effects of what medication you are on like antibiotics. She has also helped me manage my weight and my hypothyroidism. I did not have a great experience. I was first invited into the doctors office, her literal office not a medical room, where she proceeded to ask me questions pertaining to my mental health. The door was wide open. Within five minutes a nurse walked in with someone's EKG results and handed it to the doctor- the one I was supposed to be having a consultation with. The doctor gave the nurse her initial assessment of the data right in front of me; I thought this was a bit disrespectful of our time together but also potentially a privacy concern. After some additional exchange the nurse left and closed the door on her way out. After answering a few more of the doctors questions her phone rings and she takes the call. Again, I have the same concern as before. Eventually the questions come to an end and I leave the office to receive an EKG by one of the nurses. I was later billed a little over seven hundred dollars and only fifty of that was against the EKG. The rest of the amount was for the brief chat I had with the doctor. I do not feel any wiser regarding my physical health and will be looking for another professional to consult in the future. read more

I first came to Dr. Afrasiabi 5 months ago, and she has been treating me bi-weekly since. The office is clean and bright and the staff is always very friendly and welcoming. Shabana is the office manager and has always been extremely professional and kind while helping me with my situation. Some days, she is all alone and is still able to handle the dozen phone calls coming in while helping patients get checked in. I've even seen some patients being unnecessarily disgruntle with her, and yet she always kept her cool. I have had to make emergency appointments on the regular, and they were able to accommodate more than half the time. (most offices I have dealt with don't have openings for 2 to 3 months!). The best time to be seen quickly is to make an appointment as soon as they open. But the wait in general has been no more than 15 minutes for me. Kenya has always taken me out back for vitals with the biggest smile and genuinely asks how you are doing. As for the Dr. herself, she treats her patients like part of the family and truly tries to give the best possible care to them. She is professional, but not in a stand-offish kind of way, very personable. Would definitely recommend this office. read more

Dr. Afrasiabi is an excellent physician. She has been my primary care doctor for the last 18 months. Her diagnostic skills are superb. During each visit she takes the time that is appropriate; she is not impatient to get to the next patient. My health has greatly improved in these 18 months, and I give her all the credit for my improvement. Before seeing her, I had gone through more than seven years of serious health problems. I am very unhappy with Dr. Afrasabi as my primary doctor. As mentioned by the other person, this office has a very bizarre schedule. There isn't an advice nurse that can answer simple questions and Dr. Aftasiabi is the strangest doctor I have ever come into contact with. I have had 3 appointments with her and she has never once given me any type of physical exam even when mentioning vertigo symptoms and other issues. She explained to me that this technique is not necessary and she does not have time. Her bedside manner is abrupt, rude, and she is an awful listener. One of her statements to me was "what, do you think you have a special disease that no one can figure out?".....quite honestly, that is not my job to figure out it is hers. In the 3 months that I have been involved with this office, nothing has changed for me. I actually feel worse and more unaware than I did before I ever stepped in her office. Clear and simple..this lady should not be a dr. I should have followed my gut when I first met her and changed. And every time you visit you get an email asking for a rating of the visit...really?
