Sycamore should be the next place on your list to stop by the next time your in German Village! Their seasonally changing menu features tons of local & sustainably sourced ingredients! This is such a cute place with a great patio, the service is excellent & the vibes are fantastic! The Meze plate is the perfect start for the table with a bunch of delicious bites to share! The glazed half chicken was incredible & cooked to perfection! The sablefish had great flavor & the focaccia was fire! The mocktail was so refreshing for the warm sunny day!

Checked out Sycamore last night for the first time. The location is small but very nice and cozy. The staff were super friendly, and the service was relatively quick. I started with their take on an Espresso Martini, really lovely. May even be one of my favorites in Columbus now. I then settled on the Cuban for my entree. It was a little bit salty for my taste, but they still did the Cuban style sandwich very well. The truffle fries on the side were a great, yummy bonus. A tip before you go-- the space is definitely on the smaller side, make a reservation. I am excited to come back in the AM one day to try a latte or two!

My friend had been here before and suggested we come for dinner. I made a reservation just in case. It was busy. Some tables were open and some bar seating but it got pretty busy after a while. Lots of people sitting out in the patio. I like the ambience. German village is great at that. Older buildings with modern interiors. For drinks, I got the I couldn't possibly while my friend got the Italian 90. Lots of interesting cocktails on the menu. Refreshing and tasty! They also give complimentary bread. It's small but kind of dense, made with rosemary. And they give you oil and some kind of tomato sauce on the side. It tasted fresh. For entrees, my friend got the sablefish while I got the bass. Cooked to perfection! The bass had a nice crispiness to it and it was laid atop a slice of cauliflower and potatoes with some kind of sauce. My friend's dish came with baby bok choy and a pineapple slaw. The menu wasn't anything spectacular for the price point. You see some of the usual options at other types of restaurants of this caliber. Food was good, just not unique. They do have brunch and have a few coffee drinks on the menu. So I'd come back for that! Our server was nice. Gave us her recommendations. And food came out quickly too. We didn't wait long. Parking is easy around here. Tons of parallel parking. I parked right in front of the restaurant .

An unforgettable evening at Sycamore--where neighborhood charm meets thoughtful elegance. Food: Dishes here feel both comforting and inventive. We started with Summer Ravioli and Short Rib Ragu--each plate beautifully balanced and bursting with flavor thanks to seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. The kitchen effortlessly blends café-style simplicity with pan‑global flair--scallops seared to perfection, and beautifully seasoned wings and fries that instantly became favorites. Service: Warm, attentive, and relaxed--no rushing, just genuine care. Staff guided us through the menu, kept the pace just right, and felt like gracious hosts in their own home. Ambiance: Nestled in the heart of German Village, Sycamore exudes cozy sophistication. The exposed brick and natural wood tones create a welcoming atmosphere that's stylish yet unpretentious. It's the ideal backdrop for catching up with friends or winding down after a long day. Sycamore strikes the perfect balance--elevated comfort food, relaxed but polished service, and a neighborhood vibe that instantly feels like home. A must-visit for anyone in Columbus.

Brunch of Avocado toast and Breakfast Burrito with an add on of bacon.

We were visiting from out of town and wanted to try out a new to us restaurant. We ate brunch at Sycamore. They definitely don't give any extras. My avocado toast had the thinnest layer of avocado that I've ever seen, and my husband's breakfast burrito was underwhelming. The bacon was an add on. We paid over $50 with tip for our sad breakfast. The best thing was the cookie (not pictured).

Look big but it really isn't. It's good tho.

Cute little half hand sized breakfast sandwich with the soufflé egg that seems to be all the rage in the city. Don't let the pictures fool you. This sandwich was like a tasty overpriced White Castle Slider for close to $15 and it took forever for me to get it after ordering although there were barely any customers there in the early morning. The cookies were decent as well and they've got a cool pick up window where I guess you can place orders as opposed to walking all the way inside. Good luck finding parking too with all those tight cobble stoned streets and corners, edges and nooks where you could get T BONED by another vehicle ar any moment because you can't see shit trying to get there ‍

Service was great! Highly recommend a reservation as this place is very small and cozy! The complimentary focaccia they give you is very good!! The happy hour menu is great too (really enjoyed the espresso martini). The short rib ragu is excellent although $39 is very steep for the amount of short rib that comes on the dish. Overall I highly recommend this place if you can get a reservation!

We were downtown and wanted to grab dinner. Have you been downtown on a Monday? Everything we initially tried was closed on Mondays. We decided to try the Sycamore! Success! If you havent eaten there for dinner, we both highly recommend it. Service was excellent. They dim the lights so it had a nice vibe. Perfect for date night. I had a salad which I added falafel to and wowzers... so good! The menu is small but mighty. Everything is fresh and from scratch. Highly recommend. However, reservations are a must as its a small space and white popular. We lucked out, but two other couples were turned away. Started out with a grilled artichoke a full nice size artichoke split and half grilled and covered with Parmesan cheese. It was delicious. They give complementary focaccia so there's one piece for each person at the table just one extra for dinner my husband ordered the Sycamore burger. He swapped out the fries for an up charge and got a salad. He chose the pickled salad. Their salads are huge so huge they're half salad. Is the size of normal places, both size salads I chose the Sycamore village salad, and I added falafel. The falafel is crazy. Good probably the best in the city. I ended up getting a second order of falafel so that I would have some for tomorrow. I also had ordered a large salad. I didn't need to do that. A half salad would've been more than sufficient and I probably wouldn't have been able to eat a half salad. I look at my extra salad that I had left over as a bonus as now I don't he doesn't make anything for tomorrow. We were offered dessert, but truly had no room for it. We had a wonderful time at the Sycamore and intend to be back soon.

First time at Sycamore! I will say it was an overall really nice experience; the focaccia starter was to die for and a great touch. The sycamore burger and drinks were all delicious, our waitress was amazing. I do take off one star for the overall expense... with the entrees ranging from $22-$50, I would expect the ambiance to be a bit fancier and although very cute and cozy, the prices felt out of place. I am eager to try their daytime coffee menu however, and love the location in the heart of German Village!

This place may be one of the best restaurants I've been to in a while!! The ambience as soon as you walk in was amazing. I'm someone who really only likes to sit at the bar bc I feel like you miss out on the atmosphere of a restaurant when you are sat at a bad table so I'd rather be in the middle of everything and at the bar! As soon as we walked in I was excited we had an actual reservation and got to sit at a table bc this place is so charming anywhere you sit you are still in the heart and soul of the restaurant. We did wait a minute before sitting at our table and grabbed a drink at the bar. The bartender made me one of the best dirty martinis I've had in awhile (I have a lot too). The blue cheese olives were so fresh and martini wasn't too dirty!! Just how I love it! Next up the food they started off by giving us free focaccia bread with a cheese olive oil and marinara dipping sauce. Sooooo good!!! Next we ordered the half village salad and it was huge perfect size to split along with the clam chowder soup recommended to us. We both had never had clam chowder and it was so yummy with 8 clams on top!! For entrees I got the chicken thighs. They were like yet crispy and the couscous was cheesy and then the figs made it all come together!! My husband got the hanger steak it was PERFECTLY cooked the sauce was delicious and the fries were yummy! We can't believe we had never been and can't wait to go back!

I'm relocating to the area and have been exploring different neighborhoods to find one that feels safe and socially vibrant. While out and about, I stopped by this adorable restaurant to grab a bite. I had my 3lb service animal with me, tucked in my purse, so I chose to sit outside per their pet policy. Unfortunately, a sudden storm hit. As I tried to manage my things in the rain, a kind young woman named Mel happened to be walking in to start her shift. Without hesitation, she came over, offered to help me bring everything inside, and reassured me that she would check on the policy regarding my dog so I wouldn't have to stress. They kindly seated me in the back area indoors, though I could sense the manager wasn't thrilled about it. Still, I truly appreciated the compassion and warmth Mel showed--it made all the difference. The food and drinks were great, but Mel's kindness and helpfulness made the experience memorable. She was the highlight of my visit.

These meatballs were incredibly tender, sitting in a rich pomodoro sauce that brought a beautiful balance of brightness and depth. Finished with a sprinkle of pecorino Romano, each bite had that savory, slightly salty kick that elevates the entire dish. The toasted ciabatta crostinis were crisp and golden--perfect for soaking up every bit of that sauce. And that fresh basil leaf on top? A simple touch that added just the right amount of freshness to bring it all together. After a day of capturing powerful stories, it was refreshing to experience that same level of care and intention on the plate. This appetizer didn't just hit, it lingered

It was definitely not the same place. However, this place warmed up to me pretty quickly. It looked a lot different when it first opened, has theough a few changes with one being a Hallway to the sushi restaurant next door - Great sushi by the way!! My friend and I were equally impressed. We got the giant meatballs from South Village and 3 different types of sushi from next door. Quite the spread but all of it was good!! I come a lot here - for months I used to come every Sunday night get the wings and hummus. Whatever the old wing sauce was - it was sooo good. They have now switched to buffalo and to be honest other places make it better. Still try the hummus. It's delicious. So is the incredible meatball. Drinks here have always been really good. Quality. Pizza really goood - get the Hot Honey pepperoni. They also used to have one of the best calamari plates in the city - and I have Italian parents who ALWAYS order Calamari. So if you ever see it - get it. Small tv in the corner by the bar - enough to be seen, small enough not to kill the vibe but definitely don't come if your goal is to watch a game. This past time I went I had the Braised short rib, with a Martini and the cookie with ice cream for dessert. I hardly ever get dessert but some broad yelled at me for getting stuck in the great snowmageddon snow on the way here so cookie it was!
