Everyone was super friendly, which made us feel welcome right away. We really liked the atmosphere too. It has a nice Japanese feel to it, with beautiful artwork throughout the restaurant. It made for a really nice and relaxing place to have dinner together. We ended up ordering the Crab Rangoons, Takoyaki (octopus balls), Chicken Dumplings, Chicken Katsu Curry Rice, and Yaki Udon. We definitely ordered a lot, but we wanted to try a little bit of everything! Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and was seasoned really well. The portions were also bigger than we expected, and the prices were very reasonable. We had a really enjoyable date night here, and the food, service, atmosphere, and portions all made it a great experience for us. We'll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend Umaka Ramen to anyone looking for good Japanese food!

I ordered their teriyaki skewers, agedashi tofu, and tan tan ramen. Sibling ordered the beef noodle soup. Ambiance is cozy, extremely large booths for family style seating or with friend groups. Tan Tan Ramen: Large portion, quite spicy for someone that can handle very mild spice (so ask for less if they can do it). Flavor is superb, something I'd definitely order again. Came with ground pork, bean sprout, veggies, and half a boiled egg. Teriyaki skewer: Not your traditional Japanese teriyaki flavor, however equally delicious. Tender chicken pieces glazed and seasoned. Agedashi tofu: Gave lots of pieces, I wanna say 8 or 6 pieces. Crunchy exterior, powdered with shichimi togarashi chili powder. Comes with agedashi sauce which is authentic to its flavor. (Very surprised because I've come across lots of restaurants that mess this up). Overall a positive experience, good food and ambiance. Have yet to try their Japanese menu items like tonkatsu ramen, but all my recs above are a safe bet!

That black pepper with beef dish was exceptional. The black pepper beef was perfectly cooked and each piece was succulent. Generous portion. I saw some people say the food is bland. It's hard to really believe people when they get the same exact Americanized Chinese dishes at every single Asian restaurant lol.

We ordered the pork egg rolls, chicken with salted fish with eggplants, and beef with Chinese broccoli with flat noodles. The food was good. I like how they pan fried my flat noodles to crunchy texture. The chicken with salted fish eggplant was not too salty and it was good with the rice. The place was clean. The owner was nice and friendly. The service was a little slow because she was the only one taking orders and serving food. I would definitely be back to try their other dish.

They have three tables and six chairs if you want to dine in. One is towards the left side with two chairs. The other two tables are together in the middle, with chairs in case a group comes in. They have a nice seating area on the far right if you are waiting for your carry out. This is mostly a drive-thru and carry out. I would definitely come back to dine in, now that I know they have tables. Other reviews missed this vital part. To clarify on one of the recent reviews. The beef bulgogi bowl combo does not cost $32. It would cost $17.75 without tax. I ordered combo 1 (pork adobo and beef bulgogi onigiri, 4 lumpias, pineapple passion fruit drink, and cassava cake). I also ordered the pork adobo rice bowl, egg sandwich, and matcha white chocolate brownie. I have food for two meals. Overall, it's about a 3.5 - 4 for me. I'll lean in more towards a 4 because I'll come back and try more items. -pork adobo onigiri 2.5 - this one was just okay. It could use more meat and sauce. It was mostly bland. -beef bulgogi onigiri 4 - this was better than the pork adobo. It had more meat but it could use more sauce. -lumpias 5 - they were crispy and flavorful. -cassava cake 5 - it came cold. This is a traditional Filipino dessert. It was light, smooth, and custardy. I could eat two more of these. -pork adobo rice bowl 4.5 - the rice wasn't burnt. There is a generous amount of meat. There are about two meals worth in here. The pork slices were soft and tender. There were a couple pieces that could have been softer. -egg sandwich 5 - you get two sandwiches. The whole sandwich was pretty good. It had a savory taste to it. I would order this again. -matcha white chocolate brownie 5 - it came warm. It was rich, not too sweet, and slightly crumbly. I tasted both the matcha and the white chocolate.

The fried batter was so good. I was afraid if I didn't enjoy it right away it would get soggy, but it never really did! Loved the decor! Minimal, simple but looked really nice. Clean, organized, modern. The eating space was really narrow and not a lot of seating. There were only maybe 2 large tables that could seat larger groups.

We got our fill of freshly cooked Taiwanese food before stocking up on your Asian groceries, walking off a full belly at Park to Shop (Aurora). My husband ordered the pork belly bento box meal that comes with a drink of choice. We got the passionfruit tea qq and by we it's really just me; a fruit tea all to myself :) I ordered the curry beef brisket bento. This option was not available for a "meal" that comes with a drink in the price. All bentos came with a soy braised egg (the yolk was jammy and perfect) and some pickled yellow daikon. The food was freshly prepared to order. When you walk in, there's actually several options to order. You can 1) order at the kiosk by the cashier 2) place your order with the friendly woman behind the desk or 3) sit down at a table and order using the QR code at each table. The space was modern and clean, with a few tables near the front entrance that would fit a party of 4, but mostly tables and chairs along the side wall that would fit 2. Seating is similar to what you'd see at a standard cafe (like one that serves espresso/coffee drinks) so it might not be the best place if you have a large party and want to sit together. There was a friendly men and woman who were cooking in the kitchen and taking/servers orders, respectively. It was definitely a mom and pop vibe, which I love and am happy to support their business. Taiwanese noodle soup is on their menu but it's "coming soon." Once their noodle soup is being served, we will definitely be back to try it. It would be perfect during the colder months. Five stars!

Usually places are 5-6$ per dish, but this place was $6.99. to me this is not worth it as I am unable to try other things I would like. Plus there's a 10% tax. The price made me subtract the stars unfortunately. Just not worth it. Taste: got the cuttlefish and bean curd. Both were pretty good with and good size. Classic taste for each. But nothing spectacular. Overall average dim sum at high price point

There is a ton on the menu which made ordering very difficult but eventually we were able to lock in about 5 items. We went with: Cheng Du Dumplings Beef w. The Cheng Du Dumplings came cover is a tasty Szechuan Sauce and they were filled with pork. I was also really enjoyed the Beef w. Scallion Dumplings. You just can't find a lot of Beef Dumplings anymore so when I see them I order them. I also was a fan of the Beef Fried Noodle. I loved that the noodles were so fresh. I do wish though that there had been a little more beef in it though. The Sesame Chicken was also good but I wouldn't say it was in the top of ones I have had. If you're going to Katy's you gotta go with the dumplings of course but make sure to try a couple of the entrees as well but you gotta get a noodle dish for sure.
