Stone Ranch is an enduring legacy of Peter Mullins, who devoted his life to stones, and it has now been lovingly opened to the public by his daughter, Genevieve Mullins. Spread across acres of redwoods, this open air museum holds a collection of extraordinary stone art installations and a few unique dwellings perfect for retreats, weddings, and special events. Absolutely not to be missed when you're in the area. Plan at least 2-3 hours to enjoy the art rain or shine (as a matter of fact some installations come alive with color when raining). Spinach and cheese omelette was delicious! The waitstaff in the Abalone pub were attentive and courteous, even when the pub filled with dining customers. The Westport is beautifully restored keeping the historic charm and character while adding modern amenities. There are no TVs in the hotel and the Wi-Fi seems to work best in the lobby, but that was honestly not a concern to us because we were too busy taking everything in. The area is absolutely beautiful. We stayed in the Northwest room and had a view of the ocean from our balcony and windows. We were able to sleep with the windows open which was so nice compared to corporate hotels where you can't open a window. We were able to let in the sea breeze and hear the waves crashing. The bed was very comfy. The bedding was the perfect weight for sleeping with the windows open. The shower has excellent water pressure. The provided shampoo, conditioner, etc. smelled great. We didn't get the chance to eat at the Old Abalone Pub, but we were absolutely blown away by the breakfasts that were included with our stay. At 8 am we received a tray with fruit, coffee and the most delicious scones and starting at 9 am we could have a more substantial breakfast downstairs in the hotel's parlor/dining area. The Innkeeper makes everything herself and it was DELICIOUS. She and her staff are so kind and helpful. We were given excellent recommendations on things to do in the area. We sincerely hope we have the opportunity to stay here again.

There is a parking lot but parking can be tight if you have a bigger vehicle. The rooms are comfortable and well decorated with charming artwork and fresh flowers. Nice to have two armchairs in the room and there is a small dining nook with microwave & fridge. We were in Room 1 which is right next to the road, but the traffic wasn't horrible that evening after we came back from dinner and not much late traffic so we weren't bothered by it. They do have packs of earplugs in the room if you're more sensitive to noise. We loved it and would definitely stay again.

Assaggiare didn't disappoint. On the day, Nicholas and the entire team were on time, efficient with stunning set ups of the catering stations and the guest place settings, and smoothly followed the timeline of events with perfectly placed food service. To not have to constantly push the catering staff to stay on time, move quickly and pivot with the flow of the day is a planner's wish, and they were a dream. Assaggiare created a truly memorable experience for my 100+ guests. Instead of just doing passed apps and cheese/charcuterie platters (like you find at most winery events), they set up an elegant poke bar where guests could pick & choose which veggies and spices they wanted with their seared ahi tuni and quinoa. Judging by all the "oohs" and "aaahs" I heard from guests, the food was a huge hit! There wasn't an empty plate in the house. (check out the yummy photos) Aside from the food, the Assaggiare team was incredibly professional. They showed up on time to set up; they cleaned up everything when the party was over; and the chefs/servers were friendly and patient with all our hungry guests. If you're planning an event in the Mendocino County area (whether it's a wedding, birthday, wine dinner, etc.), you should put Assaggiarre on the top of your catering list.

Having a knowledgeable wedding planner is invaluable during the planning process. My husband I are were married by Autumn in June with only our closest friends & family present. We contacted Autumn in April and she was ready to begin hearing our vision & planning for our wedding almost immediately. Autumn listened to us, asked the questions she needed to understand our relationship and priorities for what we wanted incorporated into ceremony (for us, it was our foundation of friendship and our girls)...& only a few weeks later she reached back out with an initial draft of our ceremony for us to look over and decide if it captured our essence. She is very easy to communicate with and responds promptly to emails. She has a natural talent for hearing what you are saying to her in the *way* you are saying it & she integrates the emotion and values of your relationship into your wedding ceremony. We could not have imagined a more beautiful ceremony for our guests. Autumn gave my husband & I a ceremony we will never forget. Additionally, autumn handles the processing of the marriage paperwork after the ceremony which is just one less thing on your plate during crazy wedding times! TL;DR Autumn has the exact professional and personal characteristics to make your wedding day one-of-a-kind and crafted specifically for you & your partner. She is able to provide recommendations for any vendor you may need to make your day a success. Lastly, she files all the necessary paperwork after the ceremony so all that's left for you to do is pick up the official marriage certificate!

I loved her calm and positive energy, and I especially loved all the ideas she brought to the table. We only spoke for about an hour, but afterwards I felt so much better about how my wedding would be. She had excellent ideas about the ceremony, which was immensely helpful as the ceremony was the biggest part of my wedding that I was still struggling to figure out. I wanted my religion and spirituality to play a big part in the ceremony, without making any of my family and friends uncomfortable. A few of my family members are very conservative, and I wanted the ceremony to speak to them in a way they could understand, and still be very much in line with my own beliefs. Autumn knew exactly what I was trying to do and exactly how to do it. So I hired her as both my wedding planner and officiant. As my Wedding Planner, Autumn: 1. Helped find an artist to do my hair & makeup. 2. Helped plan the ceremony script & timeline, and wedding day timeline. 3. Found a florist to purchase + deliver my flowers. 4. Brought all the decorations to the reception site, set up everything (including place cards), then took down all the decorations, and delivered everything back to where we were staying. 5. Coordinated the wedding day/made sure everything ran smoothly. As my Officiant, Autumn: 1. Wrote a lovely script for my ceremony. 2. Played a drum to gather my guests. 2. Officiated my wedding! 3. Filled out the necessary paperwork as officiant. 4. Note: Autumn is rather soft spoken. This was perfectly fine for my wedding, as I only had about 30 people, and they stood in a circle around us. But if you are planning something larger, I would mic her. Autumn has wonderful ideas and recommendations for all things wedding related. Overall I would recommend Autumn because of the stabilizing/grounding energy she brought to my wedding. I was confident that my wedding would be a success because she was a part of it. And it was.

We thought it wouldn't have the same feeling as a ceremony and reception with friends and family but, we were wrong and it was the most perfect and amazing experience. We couldn't be any happier with everything. Monica with Marry Me Mendo went wayyyy above and beyond to ensure we had a magical day! From start to finish, Monica was with us every step of the way and handled details that would've just overwhelmed me and I wouldn't have been able to move onto the next thing. We went with the Intimate Indulgence package. We did all the planning sight unseen since we live in LA and everything was in Mendocino. Monica and the photographer Marlene (Fallen Moon Photography) scouted the area to find our ceremony spot. We wanted to be married in the redwoods and our ceremony was at the base of a fallen tree. The exposed roots made such a beautiful backdrop. My bouquet was everything I had hoped for - dark, moody colors and included my favorite flower gerbera daisies. Even the detail of having magnets hold the boutonnière rather than pins, is just one of the many little details that we didn't know to ask for, but were provided to us. Being far away, Monica put me at ease with her easy going and caring demeanor. She called the different make up artists and hairstylists to help me make my choices. When she says unlimited consulting service she means it! She has excellent follow up and communication. We were never left wondering about anything. In fact, she helped us stay on track! We can't recommend Monica, Marry Me Mendo and her complete packages enough! To have everything included - officiant, photographer, florist, planner - was incredible! Her partner vendors are THE best!
