I had a pleasant stay. Great place to take your dog. We stayed for 2 nights and have nothing but good things to say. Highly recommend this place for you and your pup.

Pretty!

A three-night stay here in Ft. Bragg. $551.67 (includes tax) for the stay. Nice small studio, separate bathroom and small kitchen. Our cottage was far enough away from the street to make it quiet although thin walls and neighbor's dog were a minor annoyance. Decent wifi, cute electric fireplace. Power was out for a while the morning we left but also a minor annoyance.

Hut the Mustard Stayed in Cottage #5 & booked thru Booking.com The Good: *Good value for the money (±$150/night [includes taxes, fees, etc.]) *Extremely pet-friendly w/ a generous $15/night extra charge for pets. *Centrally located and just a few miles from most attractions in the area. *Kitchen isn't what I'd call "fully stocked'' but has most of the basics for cooking like pot, pan, can opener, wine opener and a few utensils. I'd def recommend bringing some knives and a cutting board if you really want to get serious. *Good water pressure and the water is nice and hot. *DirectTV w/ a decent selection of channels *Bed is a touch hard and springy for my liking but decent enough. *Love the room themes and décor; made it feel very homey. *Check-in went pretty smooth for the most part, except for the part where she accused us of being early until she realized it was 2:50 (check-in is at 3). The Meh: *Wi-Fi was decent (when it worked) but there were a lot of connectivity issues and periods of nothing wanting to load. Didn't help that our mobile network (Xfinity [i.e., Verizon]) was garbage out here, either. *Tiny 32" TV w/ suspect video quality *Bring your own soap/bodywash as theirs is trash. Hint: there's a Dollar Tree® just down the road. *Lack of outlets and no USB charging ports--bring your wall charger! *No ice machine *If you're like me and drink copious amounts of Java bring your own ground coffee and filters (altho you could use a paper towel like I did #MacGyver). *Manager(?) checking us in wasn't masked (I don't care but some ppl do) and she never checked our ID, which is usually SoP but whatever. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The Ugly: *Driveway leading into the place has seen better days. *They really need to invest in some lights signage as this place is impossible to see/find at night.

It was easy to miss Shoreline Cottages driving. I think I missed it every time and had to U-turn. We stayed in Suite 10 and parked right in front of our cottage. It's pet friendly (no weight limit). Wood floors. Not so roomy but it fit all the amenities.. desk, futon sitting area, "kitchenette", fireplace, TV, Queen sized bed.. The bathroom had a shower/jacuzzi combo, the toilet had one of those "I'm sanitized" seals. There was also our own back patio with a picnic table and chairs. You can rent DVDs from the office during office hours. I didn't. The TV channels were enough. There was a family next door to us.. You can hear their screaming kids. There were communal areas outside.. Shoreline Cottages are located on the highway. You are short drives from restaurants, Taco Bell, a dog beach, and Fort Bragg attractions like the Skunk Train. It was a cozy stay. I liked what they had to offer in the suites with the back patio. I've read staying close to the beach, you would be hearing a foghorn repeatedly and if you have sleeping issues-- further away from that would be ideal. When checking out, just bring your key back to the office. There was no one there but a sign that directed us to leave the key on the counter.. Overall, a solid stay.

She made sure our room was ready for us, gave us a discount coupon for a nearby restaurant, and handed us a list of local places to check out, which was so helpful after a long day of driving. Everything was thought out in advance, and we really appreciated that level of care. The room itself was nice, and the ocean view from the balcony was lovely. The location is great, and the property definitely has that classic coastal Fort Bragg vibe. That said, for nearly $300 a night, there were a couple of misses. The shampoo bottle mounted in the shower was empty, which was disappointing -- especially at that price. Thankfully, I had brought my own. It was also pretty noisy early in the morning, with doors slamming throughout the building, which made it hard to get solid rest. Because of those things, I'm taking off one star. Even so, I genuinely liked the place and would consider staying again. Huge shout-out to Cody for going above and beyond -- her kindness and professionalism really made the stay better. @wegotschwag on tik tok

And we nailed it by choosing the very affordable Surf and Sand Lodge. We showed up on Friday afternoon to check in and was instantly and luckily upgraded to room 504. We were welcomed by Bridgette who told us about an event downtown, and some local hot spots. When we got to our room it was all smiles. The very clean room smelled good, and looked good as well, and the view from the balcony was spectacular. The beds were super comfortable, and each bed had 4 comfy pillows. I wanted to just chill in the room for 3 days, but that's not why I go to Fort Bragg. I was there for the Christmas parade, shopping, Sea Pal, and some beach time. The room had all the amenities possible including bath robes. But the coffee pot got the most use, we made coffee and hot chocolate many times. Overall an excellent experience and will most definitely stay here again and again.

We thought it was a saw, sounded like someone was doing renovations above our room. No 'continental' breakfast, just coffee pods and tea bags. Agree with Doreen B - rooms are shabby. Don't expect daily room service as that must now be a thing of the past. Rates don't reflect the lack of services or condition of the property. Location is fine. Not far out of town. Does have access to the beach - with a walk through a field and then a hike down a cliff. So if your up for that? There is a paved walk/bike path that runs behind the property and is heavily used. Don't expect privacy on your little deck - if you are lucky to face the ocean. Parking is slim, but there is a public parking lot right next door that you could walk over from. The staff is great. They are well aware of the properties shortcomings. Would I come back here again - no.

The views with the two arms of the harbor wrapping around the hotel...it is magical. I was worried when I read and saw how close it was to the highway, but with the way its nestled into the hill, road noise is no problem. As for the fog horn, yes, it is noisy and annoying. But we were provided ear plugs and a box fan. Due to the excessive heat this year (and probably every year moving forward--thanks a lot consumerist culture and climate change), we were roasting the first night. No AC. (And I hope they never get it. More wasted energy.) Used the box fan the second night and it was perfect. During the day, opened the glass patio door and enjoyed the ocean breeze. And did I mention the views? I could sit on that patio and watch the water, listening to seals barking, all. day. long. Lastly...it is walkable to the Noyo Headlands Park. This open space is magical. We learned that the neighboring wastewater plant helped replenish the soil after the conservancy obtained the land from the old lumber mill. Volunteers seeded plant life. Brilliant use of local resources! The birds and sea life were incredible. So glad to enjoy nature's glory, and just a walk from the hotel room.

We called ahead to see if there was a restaurant on sight. There isn't one, but they have a sister restaurant that is about 3 min away that if you get their coupon you get 20% off. It's only 3.5 stars on Yelp so we passed and ate on our way. We were running late so that was really our only option to get lunch on our way to work. On the phone they asked us our arrive time and according to the gps it said 1hr and 12 minutes. She said she'll try to have our room ready as people were just checking out now. We arrived at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, May 4th 2026. To our amazement our room was ready, we weren't expecting that as we were so early. It was a blessing as I had to get to work in the room, we can work remotely sometimes. They also upgraded us to a room with a view. And it's a remarkable view of the ward and harbor. You can hear the sea lions, I believe barking at each other and many species of bird singing. There is a balcony with chairs you can sit out on too. The room has its own thermostat which keeps the room toasty warm on low and it's quiet. I can't recall what kind of unit it is but it's in the blood bad it quietly pushes hot air out. The room has a kireg type machine with sorted coffee, large mini fridge and freezer, and microwave. There is a desk and lounge chair and big screen tv with multiple channels. The shower/tub and toilet is separate from the vanity. The light to the tub/ toilet are is on the outside and the fan is extremely loud, so loud that it will wake up your mates who are in a deep slumber, so that's a minus. They have a ground floor that requires no steps and has a ramp that goes around to additional rooms. Other than that there are a lot of steps and no elevator that we've seen. So if you don't do stairs pick the ground floor and walk in on the lobby side. The lobby has all day tea, coffee, hot chocolate complimentary. They also have snacks and drinks for purchase: rice a Toni, Mac n cheese, spaghetti o's chicken noodle soup, tuna/chicken and crackers, chips, jerky oatmeal, and cold cereal. As for drinks they have juice boxes, milk, Gatorade, matcha, ect. No alcohol that I could see. The wharf is a 15 min walk or 3 min drive and they have seafood restaurants there. Across the street is Homestyle cafe for breakfast and lunch and you're a few min from downtown. This is a great location.

We had a room with a balcony overlooking the harbor and highway 1. Be forewarned, this hotel is definitely outdated, but it had everything we needed: it was fairly quiet, had a comfy bed, good water pressure, and was clean! Since our room was closer to the highway, it was a bit noisy with the sliding glass door open, but was fine once it was closed. It didn't bother us at night. Your room will also not be turned in daily, but they give you plenty of towels and the garbage cans are big so it was fine for our stay.
