Used a piece of furniture in lieu of missing latch. Not great in case of fire.

In my opinion there are pros and cons. However, I would never stay here again. Pros: Location Nice view of the river/harbor. Cons: It is a very old, dated motel. When I walked into the room there was notably musty odor. There was paint where a latch was- a girl traveling alone - big minus. The view is nice but with that comes a lot of traffic noise. No fan system so the room stays stuffy. If you open the door you'll get more noise from the highway. Lastly, I found the front desk a little rude and not immediately accommodating.

The rooms are spacious, inviting and clean, they have great views of the nolo river harbor. Staff is very nice.

This is their "ocean front" view. Also some rooms smell like smoke not so great when it's a non smoking facility. Only other somewhat eh thing was black ants crawling around.

First off: we really loved this place! If you read the negative reviews, notice that they are actually in the vast minority. Negatives noted have either been dealt with or may be a bit overblown. Fort Bragg is not a luxury town, but is home to many very hard-working everyday people. If you want luxury, go to Mendocino! No, this location does not have a complimentary breakfast. Instead, they are within walking distance or short driving distance of some incredible eating establishments! They also provide several snacks for purchase. And do not knock the free coffee, tea, and cocoa! No, the hotel is pet friendly for _service_ animals only! So if you are a pet owner with expectations, you'll want to leave your fuzzy companion at home. No, the staff here are excellent and friendly. No, housekeeping does not come to refresh your delicate sheets or towels daily. After the major droughts here in California and covid-19, such expectations area bit much. Stop being a Boomer, and ask for what you need if there is need. No, there is the occasional ant here are there, but they are ubiquitous in Fort Bragg! Get over it. No, there Is no undue noise or nastiness here, although the harbor seals do party pretty hard at the inlet! Harbor Light Lodge is rustic and simple. It is neither luxury living nor pretentious. It is quiet, clean, and well situated within Fort Bragg. The staff were incredibly welcoming and conscientious. They were very friendly and informative regarding the local scene. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was clean and simple. The amenities were perfect. It lacks the modern polish that some require, but we found it to be perfectly reasonable. If you are looking for a place to stay in Fort Bragg, I and my family would highly recommend this location!

This place was such a delight! Check in was very quick and easy. And our room was fantastic. We had a great view of the harbor (I could hear sea lions barking, and enjoyed sitting on the cute and comfy balcony, sipping my coffee and hoping to catch a glimpse of them.) I stayed with my daughter, and we really appreciated the size of the room and bathroom. We had so much room to spread out in and even when we were both trying to get ready (hair, make up, etc) we weren't in each other's way. Although we didn't get a chance to use it, there was a spacious and cute little kitchenette setup in our room as well. The beds initially seemed too soft, and yet I awoke feeling like I'd had the best night's sleep in years. The beds were very comfy and cozy. Lastly, and most importantly, the room was very clean! I will definitely be staying here again...and next time hopefully for a few more nights!

I have never lived in a family-styled lodge before and was very happy with the experience. Here are my favorite parts about Harbor Lite Lodge: - There is very limited walkable areas in California, but this lodge was surprisingly in a perfect area to do just that. The lodge not only was close to a Safeway (less than 10 minutes walk) but also was very close to Noyo Harbor which has a lot of excellent fish & chip places. - The bed was incredibly comfortable, didn't make my back hurt at all which is always a plus. - I appreciate that they had glass mugs which allowed for us to heat up the foods we bought at Safeway. - The staff was very nice and joke-y and I appreciate this kind of hospitality. - The views from our room was absolutely incredible! I'm really grateful that they had a balcony that overlooked the Noyo River into the Pacific Ocean. I will say that there were some things that were less than desirable like the fact that there was hair in the shower before we got there and the fridge wasn't necessarily cold but overall I had a really great and positive stay and would definitely be back if in the area.

I have no complaints about Habor Lite Lodge as my experience with them was great from start to finish! I booked through a 3rd party website and made a quick call to the lodge just to confirm my reservation. I had checked my e-mail and it did not reflect that we would be staying in a harbor view room, so I called to make the change and to see if there would be an up charge. I don't remember who I spoke with, but she had informed me that they had blocked rooms for a wedding and unfortunately there were no more harbor view rooms available. However, she did suggest for me to call back on a specific date once the block had been released to see if any would become available and made sure to make a note on our reservation for when we did call back. When I called back I spoke with Tim and was pleased to hear that we were able to change to a harbor view room with no extra charge. We arrived pretty late on the day of check-in and were greeted by Alison and another woman (I don't remember her name unfortunately), but they were very welcoming. They provided us with a list of local restaurants, flyer for the Noyo Festival taking place that weekend, and great conversation. Our interaction with them was nothing less than positive and was just what we needed after a long drive from Sacramento. We so so so so appreciate you both for staying to ensure we made it to the lodge safe and ready for check-in! (future stay-ers, be advised there is a $50 hold on your card for damages, which is typical for most hotels). Inside the office they sold hats, shirts, sweaters, bags and mugs with their logo. They have coffee, tea bags, hot chocolate ready every morning until 9:00 PM, which is free for guests. For purchase, they offer snacks like chips, ice cream, ramen, soda and more. If you wanted to hang out in the office, no problem! They have comfy seating next to a cozy (and super cute) fire place. Right outside on the patio is seating and a fire pit- my friend and I took advantage of that area one night and just enjoyed sitting by the fire and making small talk with Tim (he has an awesome sense of humor btw!). Oh! Also, my friend forgot her toothbrush and surprisingly the lodge keeps a stash for this exact reason and they provided my friend with a toothbrush free of charge! The rooms are nicely sized. We stayed in a room with two full size beds. The room comes with a microwave, refrigerator (don't forget to turn on once you get in your room as they leave it off), keurig, k cups and creamer, extra blankets and pillows, TV, desk, and chair with foot rest. Unfortunately since we got in late I didn't take photos of the room. The only thing I'd say about the room is the beds seem a little outdated and stiff, but personally, I have back problems so this was not an issue for me and slept well! Each room does come with a patio and we got a view of the harbor and warf- so nice! My friend and enjoyed our stay very much. The price for 3 days was more than reasonable especially being at the coast. The rooms and property are well-kept and maintained. They even offer patio seating throughout the property to enjoy coffee outside. There is also vending machines that sell chips, soda and candy. There is laundry and a sauna on site. The location is very close to the warf and we were able to walk right down to the beach and the Noyo Festival from the lodge. My first time in Fort Bragg wouldn't have been as memorable as it was without staying at this establishment and being served/interacting with their friendly and welcoming staff. Thank you again! Highly recommend!

Seals to serenade you through the night

4.5-5 stars Went on a road trip with my boyfriend for a romantic getaway and arrived to our destination. The place is situated where rooms get a view of the harbor. Check in was simple. Our room was nice and clean and our king sized bed was comfortable. You get a fridge, microwave, tv, hair dryer and an ongoing serenade of seals throughout the night. It's not bad, it was faint from our room. The seals must have been having a conference because we watched a few of them get their turn on the platform, state their opinions, and a few trying to bargain with the fisherman. They were cute and if you're noise sensitive, close the sliding door or find some noise canceling device to assist you. What I enjoyed about our stay -You're close enough to check out the small quirky shops -staff is helpful - drinking coffee and eating some danishes out in the balcony

Cozy lounge room adjacent to the refreshment and snack bar in the check in office
