The garden is 47 acres, but it feels a lot larger. There are various trails to the ocean as well as a creek with lots of shade and greenery. Containing a maze of paths and vibrant colors, this place brought me a lot of balance and Zen as I walked around and explored. The dahlia garden was spectacular; it was filled with many different colors, shapes and sizes of dahlias. I think the technical name for some of the styles were cactus, ball, and pom pom. There aren't a lot dahlia gardens around so for people that are really into flowers it's worth trekking up here. I liked the Heather garden as well, I don't think I've ever seen one. Rose gardens are usually my favorite but the one here was more minimal and catered to being more rustic rather than manicured. I think the Dahlia garden was the most impressive part.

I am excited that I have taken the plunge and become a volunteer with this organization- they do so much for our community. The hall is a great not-so-hidden gem on the coast. It's easy to find on Redwood Ave. Handicap accessible, wide open floor plan, well maintained by volunteers from the club. Plenty of bathrooms, a fabulous kitchen and bar space. If you're planning to have a birthday party, wedding reception, anniversary party, or any other kind of event requiring a fabulous venue, check out the Lions Hall. I have been involved in multiple events in this space, and can't recommend it enough.

They offer free breakfast, which looked small at first, but actually had a good variety, biscuits with gravy, cereals, pancakes, oatmeal, eggs, yogurt, potatoes, bacon or sausage, muffins, cinnamon rolls, and different breads. Items run out quickly, but the staff kept refilling everything fast, which was great. Housekeeping came daily, tidied the room, and restocked fresh towels. Overall, I had a really good experience here and would happily stay again next time I am in the area.

My husband is from New Zealand and I grew up in Germany so we had many international guests join us in Mendocino at MacCallum House for our Wedding and we couldn't have heard more rave reviews. There were many times our guests excitedly exclaimed to us that it was the best wedding they had ever been to! We picked the Mendocino Overlook for our Ceremony and were shuttled to and from by the stretch limo included in our package from MacCallum House. What a beautiful ceremony location which is a quick ride from MacCallum House. We were ever so lucky with the weather, sunshine, light winds and blue skies! Our reception was out in a tent on the grounds of MacCallum House. We had a photo booth, fire pit and lounge seating outside the tent. Inside the tent was the dance floor, more lounge seating and of course the bar! Our tent reception ended at 10pm but we are so happy the we transitioned seamlessly into the Mac House were the party continued on until much later! The dance party we were able to host inside MacCallum House with our DJ was one of our highlights. The food that Alan puts together is out of this world. We are fine dining restaurant lovers and wanted to make sure that our Wedding included our love of good food and wine. Mac House did not disappoint. Every steak was cooked to perfection and my vegetarian sister was in heaven with her vegetarian options! All of the appetizers that were passed were exactly as we had always hoped for, a touch of sushi was such a hit! Elisa was our onsite coordinator and I can not praise her enough. She made sure that every need was taken care of on our special day. Furthermore, she was so responsive and organized in the lead up to our wedding weekend. She responded to texts, calls and emails quickly and was able to predict any hiccup before it even occurred. Her personality is well suited for her job and she makes you feel more like you are communicating with your best friend while planning for the big day! Mollie, MacCallum House's General Manager, is ever so heartwarming and welcoming and the rest of the Mac team made sure all of our guests were well attended to and needs met! We had multiple planning weekends up in Mendocino and each time we arrived, we were met with such enthusiasm and open arms by the Mac House team. Honestly I'd give this place five stars, except our second night, the campers next door were super-loud party-types (quiet time is supposed to start at 9PM), and on top of that, unbelievably, an incredibly loud marching band replete with a bass drum and trumpets were playing on what I believe was the property "next door" for hours--at least 'til 11pm. Keep in mind this was a Sunday night (???) Honestly, I was not a happy camper. People go camping to enjoy themselves and to get some peace and quiet at the appropriate time. So if some private party place or private residence nearby is going to have a MARCHING BAND (or whatever it was) going on late on a Sunday night--along with party campers loud-talking late into the night--you should really be up-front that yeah, noise is a thing until late. I'd ask for a refund but I didn't book this trip and I am too tired from lack of sleep. So ... great place for camping, great weekend overall, but late-night noise was an issue, or at least it was for us.

The bunkhouse is clean and the bathroom is spotless. $86 for room that sleeps up to six people. The shower requires one quarter for a 10 minute shower. They provide eight quarters which was not enough for our family. I was lucky to have a roll of quarters in the car. Prior to coming up to the farm I was very lucky to have made contact with Helene Chafin who works for this non profit organization. She was very informative of things we should do and see. She was very sweet to have spent time on the phone sharing all the fun places to visit. She also gave us a tour of the nursery on with native plants at Jughandle Creek Farm. Helene is a singer and we hired her for a fun singalong with the kids around the campfire. Helene introduce us to Fern Tanja, Jughead Creek Farm' naturalist. We hired Fern who gave us a three hour hike into the different terrace starting with the Ecological Staircase at the ocean level to the Pygmy Forest. She was very educational teaching us about the native plants, and how the ecological staircase was created by Mother Nature. This place is about a 10 minute drive to Fort Bragg and Mendocino. Highly recommend to spend at least a week to experience everything this area has to offer.

Everybody I worked with (Joan, Bob, Holly) were very professional and quick to respond to my e-mails. My only gripe was the battery operated sound system, which we needed because the wedding was on the bluffs with no external power. The sound system sucked the life out of my fully charged ipod the minute we plugged it in. Thankfully we had a back up ipod, however it tried to do the same thing....so we grabbed one of the wedding guest's computers, and hooked up the ipod with a usb chord so the power recirculated. I feel a bit responsible because we didn't test this out when we went in to learn how to use the equipment...oops. Overall working with Fort Bragg Rent All was a great experience. They made everything stress free so I could worry about other aspects of the wedding.
