Sonya and her team were absolutely amazing to work with. They have an incredible amount of knowledge of the Mendocino area and have all the connections to all the vendors and local service staff. We were planning during the 2020 pandemic when we weren't sure what the wedding season or restrictions would be. Sonya checked in with us every so often to keep me updated on the local rules and was always available to answer all of my questions helped me plan through the wedding questions and sort out all the details up. She truly made the process so much easier. We got married at Cuffeys Cove and it was beyond our expectations. Everything went super smoothly and her team did an amazing job coordinating!! They did a great job setting everything up (tables, chairs, table settings) and also cleaning up so that we had absolutely nothing to worry about. We had so much fun and loved working with your team! Highly recommend :)

Wow wow wow! What an amazing team of people to work with. The entire Mendocino Wedding team are such wonderful people. They are local, have an amazing relationship with all of the vendors, and are the nicest people around. One of the things I loved the most was how they knew the vendors so well. Mendocino area is small, so they really all seem like such great friends. They all know each other so well which makes working together just seem like fun to them. They have brilliant ideas and know the venues like the back of their hands. I highly recommend this team for your wedding!

Sonya and the whole Mendocino Weddings crew did an absolutely incredible job coordinating and assisting with planning for our wedding in Spring Ranch in Mendocino in July! She knows and has a great working relationship with all of the best local vendors (including most importantly, our venue) which made the whole experience super seamless. Especially can't say enough about what a great job she and her team did on the day of the wedding - she really prioritized our needs as bride and groom and helped keep things on schedule for the entire weekend. She and her team were always there asking what we needed and making sure we both had a great time. We can't recommend Sonya enough!!

Our wedding day was pure magic!! And we have some magicians behind the scenes to thank - Mendocino Weddings!! Sonya and her team were so kind, calm, and professional throughout the planning process and ensured that our vision was perfectly executed. We were in great hands and were able to relax and enjoy our big day! Something I didn't fully believe was possible, knowing my perfectionist self, but I was able to let go and just be in the moment, which was so important! We truly got to be guests at our own party and enjoy every second! Hiring Mendocino Weddings was hands down the best wedding decision we made! Sonya recommended the absolute best local vendors, who were all incredible to work with and helped make our wedding so memorable. Our wedding day was a dream and exceeded any expectations we had - we're so grateful to such an incredible team who made it all possible!

My husband and I are still in awe at how perfect our Wedding weekend was at MacCallum House last…read moresummer (July of 2019). My husband is from New Zealand and I grew up in Germany so we had many international guests join us in Mendocino at MacCallum House for our Wedding and we couldn't have heard more rave reviews. There were many times our guests excitedly exclaimed to us that it was the best wedding they had ever been to! We picked the Mendocino Overlook for our Ceremony and were shuttled to and from by the stretch limo included in our package from MacCallum House. What a beautiful ceremony location which is a quick ride from MacCallum House. We were ever so lucky with the weather, sunshine, light winds and blue skies! Our reception was out in a tent on the grounds of MacCallum House. We had a photo booth, fire pit and lounge seating outside the tent. Inside the tent was the dance floor, more lounge seating and of course the bar! Our tent reception ended at 10pm but we are so happy the we transitioned seamlessly into the Mac House were the party continued on until much later! The dance party we were able to host inside MacCallum House with our DJ was one of our highlights. The food that Alan puts together is out of this world. We are fine dining restaurant lovers and wanted to make sure that our Wedding included our love of good food and wine. Mac House did not disappoint. Every steak was cooked to perfection and my vegetarian sister was in heaven with her vegetarian options! All of the appetizers that were passed were exactly as we had always hoped for, a touch of sushi was such a hit! My wine loving parents were thrilled with our wine options and my Whiskey loving husband and his friends were pleased with the Spirit and Cocktail options. We are so happy that we added on Late Night food for our guests which were put out in the MacCallum House during the late night dance party. We opted for the Morning after brunch. The Mac House did a fantastic job of changing up the decor a little in the tent and welcomed our guests back at 10am the morning following our Wedding. It was such a lovely way to end our Wedding weekend, sharing stories from the previous night, sharing a few last drinks (Mimosas and bloody Marys) and finally saying our goodbyes. Elisa was our onsite coordinator and I can not praise her enough. She made sure that every need was taken care of on our special day. Furthermore, she was so responsive and organized in the lead up to our wedding weekend. She responded to texts, calls and emails quickly and was able to predict any hiccup before it even occurred. Her personality is well suited for her job and she makes you feel more like you are communicating with your best friend while planning for the big day! Mollie, MacCallum House's General Manager, is ever so heartwarming and welcoming and the rest of the Mac team made sure all of our guests were well attended to and needs met! We had multiple planning weekends up in Mendocino and each time we arrived, we were met with such enthusiasm and open arms by the Mac House team. We went back to Mac House in October of 2019 following our July 2019 wedding and again we were made to feel so at home. You can't beat a cocktail or glass of wine in the Whale Bar, that's for sure. We know we will be coming back again and again to MacCallum House and can't thank them enough for hosting our dream Wedding! We highly recommend the MacCallum House for any and all events!

We cannot recommend this venue enough, it was the best weekend of our lives.

Before the lighthouse there's a little compound with the old keepers' quarters which you can walk into and check out. If in the Mendocino/Fort Bragg area and only time for one lighthouse I think this one is better for being closer to town (Point Arena is about an hour drive) and for available trails to go on a walk after the lighthouse. If you want something more of a tall statuesque lighthouse where there are tours throughout the day to the top and you don't have to walk a mile from the car I'd recommend Point Arena.

It is located a couple of miles away from the town, in a clearing in a forest. It is so quiet there that you can hear the silence! (Except in the evening where the frogs in the pond entertain with a pleasant concert of frog music; it is a nice sound and relatively quiet). It is very quiet since the house is located down a gravel road through the forest. The gardens are filled with a large variety of colorful flowers that were beautiful. The home cooked breakfasts are very good. The eggs come from the resident chickens. Very fresh eggs! We stayed three nights. We had the downstairs room in the main house, adjacent to the pleasant common living room, where enjoyed sitting in the evenings. Our room had glass doors that opened up to a deck that overlooked the woods in the back of the house. Beautiful. This was a relaxing trip for us. However, there was a lingering dank smell of either mildew or animal urine which I couldn't exactly put my finger on. Overall, we had a pleasant stay here on our first visit to Mendocino.

We spent most of our room time outside enjoying the views and just soaking all of the beauty in. The Little River Inn is just down the road from Mendocino, and a short 10-15 minute drive to Fort Bragg. Perfect location for what we were doing that weekend. Staff was wonderful. The real surprise of the trip was the restaurant. I normally shy away from hotel restaurants, as I prefer to sample the local cuisine. However, we decided to give it a try our first night for Dinner. I was delicious and quite popular with the locals as well. I'll be doing a separate review for the restaurant, as I strongly recommend having at least one meal there. We ended up having two...lol. (Her second 'job' is helping people learn how to regulate their nervous system using breath work.) 2. Our weekend - which was at a venue (our retreat center, Whispertree Retreat) that was largely outdoors. The weekend weather went from hoped-for blue skies and billowing white clouds to a 30 degree temperature drop and rain forecast. Prasada patiently held the line assisting us with a Plan A, B AND C for the weekend, depending on the weather, a call we would make the morning of. I cannot tell you how much forethought this took! But Prasada did not complain ONCE. Rather, she held the course and even spearheaded the final plan C option that eventually turned out to work perfectly(!!) for us. 3. During the event, itself, Prasada spun plates behind the scenes. protecting us from a few (unavoidable) things that happened - some of which I STILL think we don't know about. 4. I really care about details and how things look. Beauty is so much a part of what people can notice and feel that helps make an event feel warm, welcoming and heart-opening. Prasada gets that, too, and has a great eye! I really trusted her to set things up just as I asked, and even improve on the outcome. 5. Prasada ALSO works at an event rental company. She has years of experience understanding issues related space and rentals and could probably help you address these issues in her SLEEP.
