I cannot recommend Prasada highly enough as an event planner. Let me the five top reasons why:…read more 1. She is calm, steadfast and truly mindful in details and countenance. (Her second 'job' is helping people learn how to regulate their nervous system using breath work.) 2. Our weekend - which was at a venue (our retreat center, Whispertree Retreat) that was largely outdoors. The weekend weather went from hoped-for blue skies and billowing white clouds to a 30 degree temperature drop and rain forecast. Prasada patiently held the line assisting us with a Plan A, B AND C for the weekend, depending on the weather, a call we would make the morning of. I cannot tell you how much forethought this took! But Prasada did not complain ONCE. Rather, she held the course and even spearheaded the final plan C option that eventually turned out to work perfectly(!!) for us. 3. During the event, itself, Prasada spun plates behind the scenes. protecting us from a few (unavoidable) things that happened - some of which I STILL think we don't know about. 4. I really care about details and how things look. Beauty is so much a part of what people can notice and feel that helps make an event feel warm, welcoming and heart-opening. Prasada gets that, too, and has a great eye! I really trusted her to set things up just as I asked, and even improve on the outcome. 5. Prasada ALSO works at an event rental company. She has years of experience understanding issues related space and rentals and could probably help you address these issues in her SLEEP. Please do not think twice about hiring Prasada for your event. I enjoyed working with her so much that one thought I have the morning after it all is: What's the next event we can work on with her?!

Assaggiare didn't disappoint. Julia was responsive and helpful from the start, updating the proposal through the planning journey, crafting a beautiful menu, and nailing in those fine details with rental needs closer to the event. On the day, Nicholas and the entire team were on time, efficient with stunning set ups of the catering stations and the guest place settings, and smoothly followed the timeline of events with perfectly placed food service. To not have to constantly push the catering staff to stay on time, move quickly and pivot with the flow of the day is a planner's wish, and they were a dream. Highly recommend you reach out to Assaggiare if you are looking for a mouth watering culinary experience for your guests, and smooth production journey for yourself and the vendor team.

Assaggiare created a truly memorable experience for my 100+ guests. Instead of just doing passed apps and cheese/charcuterie platters (like you find at most winery events), they set up an elegant poke bar where guests could pick & choose which veggies and spices they wanted with their seared ahi tuni and quinoa. Judging by all the "oohs" and "aaahs" I heard from guests, the food was a huge hit! There wasn't an empty plate in the house. (check out the yummy photos) Aside from the food, the Assaggiare team was incredibly professional. They showed up on time to set up; they cleaned up everything when the party was over; and the chefs/servers were friendly and patient with all our hungry guests. If you're planning an event in the Mendocino County area (whether it's a wedding, birthday, wine dinner, etc.), you should put Assaggiarre on the top of your catering list.

My top 2 pastas were the carbonara and the California. It's a pretty busy location, but it's so cute and warm - they also have an outdoor patio and a window to watch the pasta being made. Finding the actual location based on Google maps was a bit difficult, but once you see some signs with its name try to follow them!

For a table of 2 we walked in and had 1 party wait in front of us, which still took 30ish min to be seated. The outdoor seating is beautiful with the lighting, but the indoors was quaint as well. The waiters are extremely nice and sociable, makes you feel like family. Great spot for a date night! 5/5 Complimentary focaccia was soft and fluffy. They had different ones, like rosemary, plain, and the pizza. The pizza one was easily the best, especially if it just came out of the oven. You can definitely ask for more and they are happy to bring you some! 4/5 Melanzane parmigiana was a nice eggplant parm in a smaller appetizer form. Don't let the size fool you, it's pretty filling. I would have wished for a bit more sauce and the eggplant a bit more seasoned, but it was definitely a great dish. There were parts where the batter was a bit soggy. 4/5 Cappellacci Verdi alla Zucca was a solid dish. The butter and sage sauce was simple and allows the pasta to shine, with the squash not being too strong. I think if it was stronger in flavor, it might have shined a bit more. 5/5 Spaghetti al Pesto Genovese is easily the best dish. The pesto flavor was strong and seasoned well. If you come here, this is the one to get! 4/5 Creme Brulee was nice, great exterior with the right sweetness. Felt a little too firm on the inside as I would have wanted it softer, but nothing out of this world. Overall a really solid Italian spot that feels like a neighborhood gem. The complimentary focaccia and the pesto spaghetti alone are worth the visit. I would recommend making a reservation to skip the wait, but the ambiance and warm service make it a perfect date night spot. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of their pasta offerings!

Love the whimsical decor, including mismatched plates & novelty salt shakers. Plus every table has a bottle of their house made hot sauce! The service is friendly. We went on an evening when it was SWAMPED, they gave us the boiled peanuts & a pickle plate on the house. Hubby & I shared the biscuit sliders, red beans and rice, & chickpeas and dumplings. Everything was AMAZING-- super fresh, quality ingredients, great flavor. We finished with a moon pie. TO DIE FOR!!! They have a long list of wines & fun looking cocktails, but we did not indulge. We did have the local kombucha, which was quite tasty. It's downtown Mendocino, so parking can take a while. Can't wait to return on our next trip!

The space is super cute, the menu is seasonal, and the plating is creative. The food itself was flavorful, unique, and definitely not the kind of dishes you usually see at vegan restaurants--so big points for that. That said, the experience felt a little off. We were first seated inside but had to move outdoors because of the flies (there were still bugs outside, but it was manageable). Service was where things fell short: our server, who I later realized is also the owner, came across as very short with us. She'd list specials and walk away without checking if we had questions, didn't offer wine recommendations (despite having a wine shop next door), and overall wasn't very warm or welcoming. We noticed she was much friendlier with regulars, which made us feel a bit brushed off. Totally understand local pricing & mandatory 20% gratuity, I just expected a higher level of service. The ambiance also had some drawbacks--constant clanging of dishes in the small space made it feel tense rather than cozy. Between that and the flies, it was hard to fully relax and enjoy. Overall, the food was great, and I wish the service matched the quality of the kitchen. If the vibe had been more welcoming, this easily could have become a regular spot for us whenever we're in the area.
