Zoe can keep the whole picture in her head and still track every tiny detail it takes to make it happen. More than that, she really listens. She never tried to turn our wedding into something we didn't want. She figured out what mattered to us and then found a way to make it work. When she did offer an opinion, we learned fast to listen. She was so willing to go along with our ideas that when she pushed us in a different direction, we knew there was a good reason. She was right every time, and by the end we trusted her completely. The wedding weekend itself is where she and her team really showed what they can do. After months of decisions and logistics, my stress disappeared the moment we got to Mendocino. I knew Zoe had thought through everything and would handle whatever came up, and for the first time I could just let go and enjoy it. We had a pretty complicated, multi-event weekend, and I've never been to an event that ran so smoothly. We were actually ahead of schedule on the wedding day! Hair and makeup, photos, transportation, setup, and transitions all just worked. I'm sure there was some improvising behind the scenes, but we never saw it. She knows everything (I mean every last detail) that needs to happen for a successful event, and she makes sure it does. Our venue required bringing in numerous outside vendors and substantial rentals, and Zoe coordinated all the moving parts so that everything came together in harmony. It was as though she conducted an orchestra that, despite never having rehearsed together, performed brilliantly on opening night. Our already high expectations were quickly surpassed as we moved from event to event, each one more beautiful (in every sense of the word) than we could have imagined. Third, Zoe is resourceful and creative. She doesn't just coordinate; she gets her hands dirty. As one example: just a week before our event, when we realized we needed more decorative elements for our western-themed rehearsal dinner, Zoe proposed hay bales from the feed store. Then she arranged the rental herself and delivered them to our venue personally. They turned out to be an inspired choice. Some of our favorite photos from the whole weekend are of us sitting on those hay bales, laughing as our friends toasted us. Finally, Zoe is a wonderful human being. From our very first meeting, her warmth and enthusiasm were obvious. Throughout the planning process, she showed genuine excitement for us as a couple and for our weekend. On the rare occasion we felt a flicker of anxiety with a vendor, she was quick to reassure us and fix the issue. And on the wedding day itself, she was every bit as essential. Her joy was palpable even as she handled a thousand details behind the scenes. We received glowing feedback from our friends and family, many of whom singled out Zoe by name. Even during the event, guests came up to tell us how lucky we were to be working with someone so exceptional. We couldn't agree more. In short, Zoe is in a league of her own. My husband is from New Zealand and I grew up in Germany so we had many international guests join us in Mendocino at MacCallum House for our Wedding and we couldn't have heard more rave reviews. There were many times our guests excitedly exclaimed to us that it was the best wedding they had ever been to! We picked the Mendocino Overlook for our Ceremony and were shuttled to and from by the stretch limo included in our package from MacCallum House. What a beautiful ceremony location which is a quick ride from MacCallum House. We were ever so lucky with the weather, sunshine, light winds and blue skies! Our reception was out in a tent on the grounds of MacCallum House. We had a photo booth, fire pit and lounge seating outside the tent. Inside the tent was the dance floor, more lounge seating and of course the bar! Our tent reception ended at 10pm but we are so happy the we transitioned seamlessly into the Mac House were the party continued on until much later! The dance party we were able to host inside MacCallum House with our DJ was one of our highlights. The food that Alan puts together is out of this world. We are fine dining restaurant lovers and wanted to make sure that our Wedding included our love of good food and wine. Mac House did not disappoint. Every steak was cooked to perfection and my vegetarian sister was in heaven with her vegetarian options! All of the appetizers that were passed were exactly as we had always hoped for, a touch of sushi was such a hit! My wine loving parents were thrilled with our wine options and my Whiskey loving husband and his friends were pleased with the Spirit and Cocktail options. We are so happy that we added on Late Night food for our guests which were put out in the MacCallum House during the late night dance party. We opted for the Morning after brunch. The Mac House did a fantastic job of changing up the decor a little in the tent and welcomed our guests back at 10am the morning following our Wedding. It was such a lovely way to end our Wedding weekend, sharing stories from the previous night, sharing a few last drinks (Mimosas and bloody Marys) and finally saying our goodbyes. Elisa was our onsite coordinator and I can not praise her enough. She made sure that every need was taken care of on our special day. Furthermore, she was so responsive and organized in the lead up to our wedding weekend. She responded to texts, calls and emails quickly and was able to predict any hiccup before it even occurred. Her personality is well suited for her job and she makes you feel more like you are communicating with your best friend while planning for the big day! Mollie, MacCallum House's General Manager, is ever so heartwarming and welcoming and the rest of the Mac team made sure all of our guests were well attended to and needs met! We had multiple planning weekends up in Mendocino and each time we arrived, we were met with such enthusiasm and open arms by the Mac House team.
