Extremely disappointed in my recent experience at Swig. It's a shame when you visit a local establishment, willing to spend a lot of money and are treated unfairly. Myself, alongside 2 good friends visited Swig the other evening with high hopes after hearing many good things. Throughout the night, we were accused of not being of age to drink on multiple occasions. Mind you, I'm going on 24 years old and my other friends are 25. Not to mention, our waitress did check out IDs upon arrival and verified that we are, in fact, of legal drinking age. As the night went on, we were accused by multiple waitresses who were not serving us and the bartender of not being of legal drinking age. We were then asked to verify our ages not once or twice, but three times! Upon cashing out, we were still treated as if we were unwelcomed and one waitress even came up questioning us again. While questioning us, she grabs a man who seemed to be higher up than her and says, "I'm not comfortable with this, can you take over," and then walks away leaving it up to him to handle. I spent over $100 between the overpriced beer and food for myself and my friends. I've never been treated so poorly when spending so much money. Typically, when you spend a lot at an establishment, you're treated with the utmost respect. I will say that the beer cheese dip was very good, and my friends will agree that their sandwiches were made with quality ingredients. Unfortunately, the horrible service far outweighed the quality of the food. I'm writing this review to warn anyone willing to try Swig. Yes, the food is good, but the service is far below what the average consumer would expect. In addition, I was reading some of the other reviews on here and saw that the manager replied negatively to some of the posts. For a manager to call someone "immature" is uncalled for. Your job as a manager is to take negativity maturely, assess the situation, and correct your employees' mistakes. I'm very dissatisfied with my experience and can see by some of the other reviews that they received awful service as well. I hope that you will take these reviews the correct way and fix your mistakes. I'm always a strong supporter of local restaurants and that is exactly why I visited with the intent to spend a lot of money. It's unfortunate that it wasn't well spent. read more

Maybe if I could have been seated or any of the 8 staff who walked by would have acknowledged our presence, I could give more than one star. I had high hopes that I could sit on the patio as there were at least 3 tables open and available that I could see before walking in but when I asked, a man told us 'no patio' and said to grab a seat inside. There wasn't anyone else waiting, and there seemed to be more staff than customers so the man's abruptness and dishonesty left such a bad taste in my mouth that we went to Packos for beer and hot dogs to wash it away. Packos was glad to seat us on a patio and let us pay them for food and beer. read more

Another excellent experience at Swig! All of the kinks from before seem to have been ironed out. Taylor is the best server!

Great place with great food. We've been there countless times and really enjoy the atmosphere and good service.

Food here is great! I especially love that you can get grilled chicken chunks, rather than ones loaded with breading. My only complaint is that the space is far to small, especially for the traffic they see. It especially is small and loud when they attempt to have live music inside the small dining room on weekend nights. read more

Don't order the Pierogi's! Tough as shoe leather. They definitely were not cooked right and the dough was so tough as if they had been frozen a long time. The waitress asked how they were and I said "awful", she continued to smile at me and I said again they were awful. She kept smiling and said yes, they are my favorite food on the menu! OMG did she think I said awesome? She was lying no matter because these things were so bad there's no way they could be anyone's favourite food. I give her a "1" for not recognising the pain on my face and not being able to distinguish between awful and awesome and lying. I was starving and had no time to stop elsewhere plus my friend my buying me lunch so I ate what I could. The actual taste was not the issue. My bad for not saying "these are nasty". The place itself looked like a great place to stop in and catch a drink. If I ever stop back, it wont be for pirogies. read more

Beer selection is the best around and they do a great job on the house made sausages and hot dogs.

Great beer selection and great food!! Make sure to try the Feta dip and the Frankenstein wings!! Prepare to wait though because like I said the food is great and the wait can be long!! read more

The food here is DELICIOUS. The service was great. There was a live band on a Sunday at 3 pm and it was a really friendly atmosphere. They have indoor and outdoor seating as well. I'm not from the area and this was a nice gem to find read more

I was really excited to try something different from all of the other gastropubs and this was the place. I ordered the sausage platter and it was really good. The chicken sausage was my favorite of my three choices but the brats and kielbasa were really good as well a the pierogis. It was really crowded and the tables are placed close together. Date night conversation was sort of generic due to sitting so close to other people. Overall this was a really nice change of pace. read more

Cheese cubes and the fries are great. main dishes are hit or miss, but the ones that are a hit are great. Staff is allways nice. seating can be tricky when its busy. prices are kinda high but everything is made fresh in house including sauces. read more

Great food. I have never had a bad meal here. My favorite is the swig soup. The dining area is a little small but the recent patio addition makes up for it. I also like the variety of beers offered. read more

Had high hope because of the high reviews, but was let down. We got the Beer cheese and pretzels, the cheese was ok and the pretzels were store bought frozen food pretzels. Nothing impressive at all. We both ordered chicken chunks and they were mediocre at best. Sauce was blah and nothing was exceptional. Staff was just okay. read more

We went to Swig last evening September 8/2016 at 3:45. We were greeted on the inside and told we could sit anywhere, we chose to sit outside. Firstly, there were only a few customers inside and one man outside with his dog and a woman who joined him later. We sat there for fifteen minutes without so much as a glass of water or menus. Zero acknowledgement, so we left. I have been going to this restaurant since it opened. Service was always impeccable. What's going on? I hope the owners read this and return to excellence! read more

If you enjoy fine beer and hand crafted food to accompany it, SWIG is the place for you. They are judicious in their beer selections. Small batch IPAs from California, Colorado. Award winning Stouts, aged in bourbon casks. Delicious imports from Belgium, Holland, and Germany. Hands down the best beer list in the Toledo area. As for the food, they prepare it all from scratch daily. No preservatives, 100% natural. Not only do they cure their own ham and bacon, and hand stuff their own sausages, but they make their own mustard, catsup, butter. Here's the short of it. SWIG is committed to simple pleasures (Beer and meat) executed at the highest level. A resounding success on both! read more

This place is awesome. Tasty, affordable food and an all-around great atmosphere. The sweet potato fries weren't super crispy but that's nearly impossible to accomplish. I love this place. read more

Great location, average menu and a good ad steady line up for live music. Good selection of craft beers on tap too! I think some of their menu items are over- priced for example a hot dog $4. read more

Ate the duck breast Ruben for dinner. Succulent, tender, rich and balanced by the Asian kraut. Love this place in the summer, with my dog, sitting outside. read more

We were in town for a few nights and decided to give Swig a shot. Good music, great beer selection and food was great! Was busy and seating wasn't overly comfortable, but we enjoyed nonetheless. Recommend if you are looking for a major break from "chain" dining. We will be back... read more

Everything about this place was amazing! Price was great for the quality of the food you receive.

Swig never fails to deliver consistent, delicious food. I go here about twice a month since it is my "go to" restaurant in Perrysburg. The Frankenstein wings are my favorite but you can't go wrong with a Chicago dog or the Smokey Italian sandwich. Never had a bad meal here. Only fault is I wish it had a larger space. read more

Went for drinks and was not too thrilled. Bar tender did last call before 12am! It wasn't packed but there was about a dozen people in there. read more

Cool casual gastropub with a rotating menu that has yet to disappoint. Great for late night hangouts, impromptu dates and meetups. Decent beer selection. read more

I have eaten here many times and have never had a bad meal or even just okay, it's great! No matter what you get you should try the hand-cut fries! The atmosphere is good too. Really a very positive experience. read more

Stayed nearby so just looked at Yelp to find a place with good reviews. Swig did not disappoint. The place was packed for a Tuesday evening, so we were able to grab a spot at the bar to sit for dinner. Husband had perch sandwich which was so big that he only ate the perch. He noted that batter was just right - not too thick and cooked well. I had BLT which was piled high with bacon (even not being the larger portion of bacon). Draft beer selection was good. read more

Loved the food, the beer, and the atmosphere! There was live music, and the menu was simple. Wings, burgers, sandwiches, Franks, sausages, etc. I "made my own frank" and added delicious ingredients such as jalapeños, beer cheese sauce, and sautéed onions. I will definitely be back to try the other menu items! read more

My two sons in town and wanted some red meat! What a great choice. Everything from sausage to burgers to sandwiches were creative and fresh. I had a salad and also was impressed. Waitstaff were attentive and polite, and a nice earthy ambiance. read more

Decent spot. The beer selection was great and the waitress was pretty good. However the food was just ok. We got a bunch of things and just shared it. We tried the brat, kielbasa, hot wings, Chicago dog, feta dip, and soup. The feta dip was great, everything else was just ok. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I probably would not come back and try other places in the area first. read more

I love Swing. They have a great beer selection with incredible bar food. My only wish is it was a larger space, but I feel that would take away from the vibe of the restaurant. read more

I went the night of Harrison rally days, there were not many patrons but the waitress was very rude! The wings we ordered were awful too! Incidentally the waitress didn't even bother to ask if we wanted naked or fried with breading; so she decided to bring out naked. Worst wings I ever had. They were like rubber, probably cooked in the microwave. I will never go to this place again. We were never treated so rudely. read more

Delicious food, we loved everything we ordered. My daughter and I split the cheesesteak hoagie, my son had the BBQ chicken sandwich and my husband a burger. Everything was delicious. Our waitress was so nice and was very accommodating when we asked to move to an outdoor table bc my daughter was cold inside. Cute atmosphere - GIANT beer list - we will def be back again! read more

From their smoked gouda fried cheese, to their amazing Cleveland dog you cannot go wrong here. Their eclectic spin on things is amazing and I have never left unhappy. read more

Stopped in to Swig for lunch today. We ordered Brisket Samich (how they spell it) and chips home made, it was not all that great we were disappointed the brisket was dry and chewy not what we expected for brisket!! The chips were not great either. The price 13 per Samich & chips, I thought it was a bit high for what it was. Otherwise the service was good and serves were friendly!! read more

Best beer and meat in tube form... Get the chicken chunks... They are flashed fried. Scotch egg is good too:)

Had the smokey Italian sandwich. It was great. The fries were a little soft but still good. Chipotle ketchup was a nice touch. They have a great beer selection too, and the servers seem friendly and attentive. read more

The hot feta dip is out of this world... but it could always use extra dipping vessels. :)

My mom and I just stopped in for a beer and an appetizer. the beer selection was awesome and we tried the fried Gouda... It was amazing. I definitely recommend getting some! read more

Karla, one of the bartenders, is such a ray of sunshine!! She always has a great selection and knows which ciders are gluten free! I usually get the Greek salad and it's way better than most - huge chunks of feta and a great dressing. There's not a *ton* of gluten free options but everyone that works there is so sweet and knows the menu well so I feel totally confident I won't get sick! read more

Really comfortable place. Nice beer selection and love that you can add a "adult shot" to a flavored lemonade. The homemade sausages were wonderful. Really liked the homemade Andouille sausage. Just enough smoke and heat to make it right. read more
