Well, the hype has died down now for the most part. I've gone a couple times since it opened, and the line has only ever had about three cars when I've been there. The staff is always kind and very patient, especially considering I never know what I want when I get there and they always point me in the right direction! I had a really disappointing experience at Swig. I went through the drive-through to pick up a mobile order and simply asked where I should go to get it because I wasn't sure how their system worked. Instead of helping me, the employee was extremely rude and basically cussed me out for not knowing where my order was and told me I had to go inside. There was no reason for the interaction to be that hostile. I was just trying to pick up my order and asked a simple question. Being spoken to that way as a customer was really upsetting and completely unnecessary. I hope management addresses how customers are treated because no one should be talked to like that for asking for help with a mobile order. read more

Finally made it here. I saw the line wasn't too long for the drive-thru, so I decided to go. I waited about 10 minutes. I got a couple different drinks, a cookie, and pretzel bites. I wanted to try the Parmesan garlic pretzel bites but they gave me the original instead. They were still good! The reviver was really good! I also got a Dirty Doctor with diet Dr. Pepper. Tried Swig for the very first time today--I've been wanting to go for ages! I almost bailed because the line was insane--double drive-thru lanes wrapped around the parking lot. The drink delivery system was unique, and while I wanted to order ahead using the app, it wasn't working for some reason. I went with the Mystic Mango since it's one of the lower-sugar options (as a type 1 diabetic, that makes all the difference!). It was tough to find solid nutritional info online, but it seemed to be around 20g of carbs. The drink itself was delicious--the flavors blended perfectly. I remember when California Burger opened up in Indy and the entire city went bonkers for it. The waiting times were ridiculous. It didn't matter. Indy had to have its California Burger. I finally made it there and found myself wondering "What's the big deal?" In some ways, I had that same reaction when I made it to Swig, the Indy location of a national chain dedicated to what they call "dirty sodas." A "dirty soda" is essentially a soda that's mixed with syrups, juices, or creams. The founder of Swig, Nicole Tanner, is actually credited with the name and the concept. So yeah, Swig essentially invented the concept that is now a nationwide trend. Swig was started in Utah and, yes, gained part of its popularity from the Mormon community (especially Mormon moms). Swig has a pretty wide variety of options including classics, seasonal favorites, and even a create-your-own option. This Swig is located in what serves as a retail/office building. Luciana's is located in the same building. It's a weird location for what is exclusively a drive-thru business. You can't drink-in (there's almost no food here). You can't walk in or carry-out. This is a drive-thru business. It looks like they have a line in an out-lot, however, every time I've been here (at Swig or Luciana's) it has wrapped around the building. I will admit. I don't get it, really. The service is friendly - a definite plus. The drinks are tasty, though for me nothing outstanding. The prices are solid - somewhat elevated for specialty drinks, however, that's to be expected. I get it more than I get California Burger (which I still think is vastly overrated), however, I'll admit I can't fathom sitting in a long line even if that line does move fairly quickly. I will admit I'm a bit of a fan of their revivers (basically dirty energy drinks), a fun concept that seems to be getting more trendy. I'm not real fond of coconut, however, and Swig seems to use that a lot. I'm definitely a create-your-own kind of guy and definitely like anything that is Mountain Dew based. The limited food selection includes pretzel bites, mini chocolate chip cookies, a sugar cookie, and a kids cookie. They do also carry hot chocolate. Did Swig live up to the hype? Not really. I liked it. I'd definitely stop again, however, I would drive right on by if the line was too long and I doubt I'd drive much out of the way to get here. However, it's a fun concept and it's sure mighty popular. So, here's hoping Swig finds a happy home here in Indy. read more

This is a great concept and a lot of fun to try so many fun flavors! The layout of the Northside location is not what you would expect. One important note that despite as long as this place has been open, people still don't know (based on the number of people we saw truly to go in unsuccessfully)... This is a DRIVE-THRU ONLY business! There is a lobby and opportunity they could allow inside ordering, but the sign taped on the door notes only DoorDash pickup only and there is no 'dine-in, or drink-in' in this case. So that was a pretty big turnoff for me. Especially since I was meeting my mom there who was excited to finally try Swig, and we ended up having our visit sitting in my car. If there is a line, it winds around the entire parking lot, disrupting access to other businesses and to its neighboring restaurant. I recommend you review the app or website first to know your requested flavor combo because there is no menu posted outside. There were 2 people outside taking orders on an iPad (think Chick-fil-a style)...but there wasn't a menu to review, so you need to be ready with your order. They take card payment at this order station, but if paying by cash you go to the window. The flavors are fun, creative and pretty tasty and the prices are very reasonable. The wait time did seem a little longer than expected for the not very complex drinks we ordered. So while I love this concept and would love the option to order inside and maybe have an inside or even outside area to sit and enjoy--that is not their vibe. But a dirty soda sounded like something my children would like, so off we went, to wait in our car in a queue for 30 minutes for three 16-ounce beverages. By the way: This place is drive-thru only. There's no other option. Also, you can't order ahead online. Ya gotta get in the back of the line and wait like the rest of us schmucks, buddy. Here's what we ordered and our verdict: Unlucky Duckie (Sprite, lemonade, strawberry and a gummy shark) = good Happy Camper (root beer, marshmallow and half & half) = undrinkable and not good at all Strawberry Breeze (water, sugar free coconut, sugar free vanilla and strawberry puree) = fine but incredibly sweet Three drinks for $11-and-change and 30+ minutes of my life doesn't seem like something I'll be doing again. Especially because they don't offer food. (They sell pretzel bites and cookies, but they were all out of pretzels when I asked for them.) Nevertheless, I'm glad we tried this place. I have been her a couple times, and when it first opened you would find crazy long lines. If you can go at an off time when it's not so busy from their exciting opening, I think it's worth it! I have tried a couple of their dirty sodas. They options are endless and drinks are very customizable. They have cookies and pretzel bites. They were out of the pretzels when I tried to order before, but I saw they had new cinnamon sugar ones. I was able to order these, and they were delicious! Finally tried Swig, the dirty soda shop that started in Utah and has made its way to Indiana. On a Sunday afternoon, I waited about 25m in line. Not as bad as I anticipated, but way too long for what you're getting, IMO. The Founder [Diet Coke, sugar free coconut, fresh lime, coconut cream) was refreshing with a subtle coconut flavor. The Fighter [water + sugar free vanilla + sugar free peach + sugar free pineapple + fresh lime + raspberry puree] was also refreshing but didn't have too much flavor. Overall, I'm glad I've tried Swig, but it's probably less time and money to just order the syrups and make the drinks at home. My niece has been doing amazing in school. And she wanted to get a great new treat. So she decided on swig I love their extensive menu and it has so many different options for soda she ended up going to shark attack and me and my husband got the pineapple passion and the sleigh all day. I love how many options they have for the customization and I liked how friendly and passionate the staff. The drink came out very quickly. The drinks we got were really good. I had the Sleigh All Day and the Buttery Beer. Both had excellent proportions of drink vs mix-ins - plus they have the GOOD ice :) I won't get the pretzel bites again. They were greasy and the cream cheese cup is just too tiny. I was disappointed because I wanted something with Fresca and they told me they were out and would probably be out for 3 weeks. Thats a long time to be out of something that's on your menu a lot. It was also a little annoying because I waited over 30 min in line and I wish they put a sign out at the beginning of the queue to say they were out. I also wish you could go inside. Maybe once the inside opens it'll alleviate some of the outside drive thru line. I was so excited to try Swig!!! I've seen it online and on tv and was just happy to have one somewhat local to me now. We like swig but it's been open for awhile... and they still can't seem to figure out operations. I'm not sure if this is a franchise that wasn't given any operations/set up help or why this seems so hard for them. They have two lanes in a tiny parking lot and taking orders from the same window that also puts out the drinks. It would almost be better if they had walk in only or something. Finally got to try Swig when passing through Indianapolis. We stopped by first thing in the morning. My overall vote is it is OK. Not bad. Not great but just Ok. The drinks did not live up to the hype. The pretzels and cheese were good. They were at least hot but really we went for the million combinations of drinks. Cool new spot if you are into specialty beverages. A great alternative to coffee but you won't spare any sugar or extra calories in the process. They sugar heavy drinks do pack a bunch but it will catch you off guard if you aren't careful. They do have drinks with a water base that do reduce the sweetness but even then I found it sweet. We went for the last day of their grand opening so we had the opportunity to try their chocolate chip cookies (soft, sweet, and snackable). Amazing first experience here at swig! I came on their grand opening weekend for the free drink offer. I've been waiting months for this place to open so I was so excited to finally go. I pulled up at 11:07am and was out by 11:25 in the drive thru! The staff was so friendly and very efficient. Working two lines full of cars from window to the street entering the parking lot- I think they did a fabulous job. I ordered the Texas tab, a drink I have had my eye on. It is delicious and I highly recommend if you like coconut. They also passed out cookies to eat in the car while you wait for your order to be taken. I will definitely be returning once the newness of the place dies down, but I am glad I was able to go! read more

Went on a Sunday. My sons have been wanting to try this place for a while. Lobby was closed. It was closed the last time we came too so we turned around bc line was so long. Drive thru took 25 minutes from getting in line to getting drinks. My son got the Texas Tab, I made my own blended drink with cherry, coconut and coconut cream. I expected the ice to be smooth but it was like gravel. There was not enough cream for my liking. More on the icee side. It was ok. My son said his drink was all right. Is it good? Yes. Is it worth the ridiculously long wait? Sadly, no. I tried several times to get it but always backed out because of the wait. Finally, I thought, you know what, I'll just wait this time. If they could find a way to speed up their process, it would be a great little treat and a fun change from the usual soda (not that I drink a ton of pop). The ability to customize your drink is a nice touch, and the pre-made options are also solid. Thank you Swig for a cool new experience. I had heard about Swig from a friend who tried it out in Utah. But I still didn't understand how cool this place is. So when I saw they were giving away free drinks I said why not? I checked out the menu online and was like "Wow". Never thought you could do so much with soda. But I decided to keep it simple for my 1st visit so I picked a drink with sprite as a base. I like poppin pearls so I went with poppin pineapple and it was yummy! It wasn't overly sweet- it was a nice balance. The Saturday I went was the free drink day and it was packed. They had several people directing traffic-- it was very orderly. The line moved fast. They were also giving out chocolate chip cookies while you waited. That was a sweet surprise. Everyone was very nice! From the guys directing traffic to the ladies taking and handing out the orders. I will definitely go again. I will step out my comfort zone with my next selection. read more

This is getting one star because the drinks are at least good. Other than that, it ends there. The service has declined at this location dramatically then when they first opened. 9 times out the 10 the workers are rude. They hand you drinks with stuff outside of the cups and a mess, and then act like it's a big deal for asking for napkins. As far as the wait goes, sometimes you go and there is no line. They do not utilize online ordering services. I am currently in line and have been for about 30 minutes, with a single line, and no one out here taking orders. As I am 3 behind getting ready to order, they FINALLY decide to make a second line and send someone out to take orders. So now, at least 10-15 cars are cutting everyone else who has been waiting longer. Would highly recommend going to any location other than this one. read more

The often long lines are worth it for the quality of the drink. But don't bother coming here within 15-20 minutes of close. We waited in line for over 10 minutes just to get the front of the line before 7 for them to tell us we were closed. If they had come out while we were waiting in line and said they weren't taking more orders that would've been more than acceptable, but to have us sit in line for over 10 minutes just to tell us they're closed felt rude and off putting. If you're in the 9600 block of North Meridian you should definitely swing through Swig Here you will find a large selection of your favorite carbonated beverages with a twist my go to is diet Dr Pepper, coconut and lime. They also have a few little snacks awesome cookies and you won't be disappointed. They do have parking and you can walk in or go through the drive-through line.
