i'm on my 4th visit here and i am impressed. it's consistent. honest and great food. service is fast and attentive. i also enjoy the motown hits on the speakers here. i'm a breakfast enjoyer and split my time all over the city and i have to admit this is my favorite breakfast spot.

Swift's Kitchen is the greasy spoon I've been longing to live by. There's nothing more romantic than having a spot around the corner from your house, one where you can roll out of bed looking your worst, and being revived back to life by coffee and eggs. Well, at least in my opinion, man. It's old school, maybe a little too old. Cash only, torn leather booths, the colors brown and orange surrounding the restaurant. Admittedly there's something charming about it. I'm a big breakfast guy, and Swift's actually serves a "big breakfast" plate. Two eggs your way, bacon, sausage, hash browns and toast of your choosing. I'd recommend their Texas toast if you like thick and buttery bread! As far as the rest of the plate was concerned, the eggs were over cooked, the sausage was leathery, and the hash browns weren't seasoned. These are fairly easy fixes for the kitchen and ones that shouldn't be overlooked, although at a diner like Swift's you don't expect a gourmet meal. I mean, it's cheap breakfast food. Our tab was $15 for the two of us and we left with full bellies. Our server was friendly and refilled our coffees. I expect many more visits to Swift's in the foreseeable future. Who knows, maybe I'll even update my review after a few more go 'rounds.

Don't judge this book by its cover. Once inside its homey ambiance offers up a variety of foods - I was there for breakfast and all the traditional foods are available. Good and attentive service - always offering up more coffee. Worth a trip.

The skinny: Solid food, fast & friendly service, chill sports vibe…read more Overview: Came here on a whim having seen them on InKind and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food. The menu is quite huge - not just your typical bar/pub variety or quality. We got a few things to share and it was all solid. Apps: 1/2 and 1/2: Fried okra & pickles. First off - its great that they allow you to do a split order in case you are between a few things. 2nd off - this app was bomb. Both were fried to perfection & perfectly spiced. The fried okra was actually our fave item. Entrees: Fried chicken: Their fried chicken is so solid. Like their fried apps - they know what they are doing. Juicy on the inside crispy on the outside. Can't go wrong here. Meatloaf: Overall solid and wrapped in bacon. Nothing to blow you away but still quite tasty. Sides: I love me some good sides, and they had a few here. Most entrees came with 2 you could choose from which I loved. Some standouts were collared greens and french fries. No frills just solid comfort food. Vibe: Chill bar vibes with TVs. Service was friendly and quick. Pricing was reasonable and portions were large. Would I come back: Yes! Great spot to hang out with friends and grab a bite!

Fresh, chilled, and a great deal. We also ordered the fish taco and steak sliders. The fish taco was tasty and well balanced, while the steak sliders were fine but didn't quite stand out. The ambience was relaxed and comfortable, making it an easy spot to catch up with friends without feeling rushed.

We had to inform the hostess. The drinks took a very long time and we then ordered food. Thankfully the appetizer came out timely because it took over about 1 hour and 45 minutes for our entrees to arrive. We saw about 3 other tables who ordered after us get their food sooner. The manager stopped by to apologize saying they were very busy, however that didn't explain the sequence of when we received our orders compared to those in the same section. The food was pretty good overall even though my steak and sides were lukewarm by the time I got them. My family didn't have the same issue. We didn't complain about the temp due to not wanting to take even more time. We did express our concerns and they offered 25% off the entrees but that was only about $26 off the total tab for drinks, appetizer, and 4 entrees. It is a cute restaurant so I am disappointed that the service was not that great and the fact that we brought my mother in law here while she was in town expecting a positive experience. We will not be returning or recommending this place to friends and family and hope that they are able to make improvements.

A great option for young families on a warmer day…read more I stopped by Edgewater Beer Garden with some friends with the intention of enjoying a seemingly warmer Denver winter day, and we had no trouble finding seating on the patio. Maybe we were just brave, but with blankets and the outdoor heaters the space served well for a small get together. The inside, however, was PACKED. Was it something in the air that influenced every young family West of Denver to crave local brews and fried food options? Or is this just the typical crowd for this establishment? Either way, I don't believe myself to be the target market for this location. After a few hours, the children's birthday party and other large family gatherings occupying the warm interiors finally disappeared, and we were able to enjoy all the splendors of their heated former firehouse. The staff who was wandering the facilities to take empty trays and glasses from tables were exceptionally nice, the food options were as plentiful as the variety on tap, and the patio's ambience was exactly what we needed. Ticked all the boxes you'd expect of a suburban beer hall. Overall, not really my scene, as I don't have a golden doodle or a curious toddler, but if that sounds like an apt description for the company you keep, you'll enjoy this spot immensely.

This came up on our list of nearby breakfast spots so we figured why not? Located on the NW corner of W. Colfax and Eaton street Nice diner atmosphere. Booths and tables are available as well as bar/counter seating. When we arrived which was just after 8 plenty of seating was available but by the time we left at 9 searing was limited. There were only 2 servers so they were busy and were doing the best they could to accommodate and provide good service to all the guests. When we did recieve our orders we were pleased at the size and portions of our meals,my wife opted for club sandwich and fries and I the chicken fried steak breakfast which came with eggs, hashbrowns and 2 dolar sized pancakes. My wife enjoyed her club which had thick cuts of ham and plenty of fries. My country fried steak was honestly one of the the best I've had the portion was large and the batter was flaky and tasty. The hashbrowns could have been better but the rest of the meal made up for it. The pancakes were delicious and they were not stingy with the butter which spread nice and even instead of being frozen and spread in clumps like a lot of places will give you frozen butter packs. Thier hours are limited and I do believe they are only open until 3. Just a tip you have to enter off of the north side of Colfax as they have new construction and there are medians now. And parking is somewhat limited. As far as would I recommend? Definitely. They have a large menu with plenty of options. Enjoy.

Syrup reminds me of First Watch, but less affordable. It's def a cute place, with lots of seating as well as a full sized bar. The staff were great also, checking in on us often and with a smile. We ordered beignets to share and I had the jalapeño popper omelette. It should come with a choice of tater tots or seasoned diced potatoes, but this wasn't offered to me. If I weren't so immersed in conversation with my coworker, I would have caught this and potentially asked for a side salad instead. My bill might have hit 30 bucks though, which for an app and an omelette is steep. Maybe I'm thriftier than most, but wow. The food was good. I liked the creative omelette and the fluffy beignets, but I wasn't impressed with the cost nor the removal of my side option. My bill with tax and tip was almost $35. Insert sad face. When I visit early in the winter season, it's also the ideal time to buy little Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers. On my most recent visit, I met up with an old friend and their partner to get drinks. Roger's Bar made some very good (and decently strong) drinks, and I particularly enjoyed their signature cocktail "The Elemental Thing," which was delightfully fruity and tropical. Prices were a little steep ($13 for a vodka lemonade is a little high IMO) but I think it makes sense for this location. Seating is abundant and varied-- there are couches, standard tables, and high tables with bar stools. The dimmer bar section is more pleasant in my opinion because it feels less like a food court. I ended up ordering a calzone from Sloan's, which came fast and tasted great. My other go-to is the Ethiopian spot-- amazing veggie options and some of the only Ethiopian to be had in the Denver suburbs (from what I can tell). All-around, this is a great place for an easy meal.
