This is an alright little divey spot with unique classic flair all around, that might not be the cleanest (in the walls I mean). I thought the brown paper bag covered cheap "mystery shots" would be fun! Until we tried two of them and all they were under that bag are the highly sugared nasty stuff like liqueurs and schnapps -- ick. Be cool if they did real booze, which can also be cheap as that sugary stuff. Boo. I thought this would be a great spot to get a high powered Long Island Iced Tea but I was massively disappointed. It's served in one of those tiny, skinny glasses where the ice cubes fill 60% of it and each shot was like a half shot or less. One of the worst long islands I've had at a bar and it barely had any booze in it (which is the entire point of ordering one). This should've been the spot to get a stiff one for a good price. SEP2024 Cool little spot to land for a view and people watching. The bartender was chill and helpful with any questions. They had a taco truck also in the parking lot but we had plans for food with friends already as it was. We were able to grab a few drinks to start the day and banter with some locals. We also watched many people run around the lake with gusto that we didn't have around that time in the morning. Not on vacation anyway. Was sitting at the bar, and watched a group of 3 walk in, 2 ordered drinks and when the third came to the bar, to show his ID, the bartender refused to give him service, saying he left the restroom with another person (accused of doing drugs). They hadn't been there for 5 minutes or less...they left without fight. I just don't understand either the lack of awareness to know how long patrons have been in your bar, or just the picking and choosing who to serve. I didn't like the attitude of the bartenders, especially when new patrons are supposed to be welcomed. I even heard him mention he was the DD! Doesn't make me want to come back. Everyone needs a reliable dive bar in their lives. At least, that's my opinion, man. Since I moved to Denver last year, I've driven by Lakeview Lounge at least 50 times. Joking around, we've said in conversations that we have to go here at least once. For goodness sake, they open at 7am every day! With the impending quarantine on the horizon and a good friend in town who loves dive bars, the boys decided to end the night here. You either get it or you don't. That's really what dives are all about. Drafts of Coors Banquet at $3.50, served in a giant glass. At least 20 ounces! Jukebox playing classic Beatles rarities, Dire Straits, and The Doors. Old leather booths (with a few rips and tears) that make you feel like the king and queen you really are. Two female bartenders hustling all night. Pouring drinks, bussing tables, washing glasses, etc. Neon and vintage signage throughout the entire bar. Bathrooms are cramped and could use a remodel. In my opinion, Lakeview Lounge is a semi-magical place. And as the name suggests, the patio boasts a fine view of Sloan's Lake. It's not for everyone, and that's damn okay. read more

Friend brought in an empty can from another restaurant (I understand that's not allowed) and they threw out a table of 8 people for having the empty can during a rainstorm. The best dive bar in Edgewater, hands down. The staff is nice (unless you're a dick), they allow dogs, and most of the people who hang out there know each other. In fact, if not for the Lakeview Lounge, I'd still be miserable and single. I met my boyfriend there two years ago, and we now have an adorable little girl. I drive by this place on my way to work every day, and decided to meet my boyfriend there to try it out. I arrived before him, and was hit in the face by the strongest urine smell I've ever experienced outside of an animal shelter. I decided to take a few more steps in to further investigate and found that, in addition to the horrible smell, every booth was ripped with stuffing popping out, and in general everything looked very run down. My sense of smell, and my vision had overtaken my body with a resounding "nope". I just turned around and walked out. As I was walking out, my boyfriend pulled up, and I told him I wasn't going in there, because it smells like piss. He sort of laughed like I was overreacting, then he walked in and immediately walked out with a nauseated face, and said "Hell no, let's go!" The bartender greeted me right away, so I assume she was friendly, but we will never find out, because it honestly smells like vagrants use the place as a restroom. We are "dive bar" enthusiasts, because we like happy hours and playing pool, but wow. No thank you. read more

Do NOT come here. This place has a reputation for kicking people out for no reason and it lives up to it. This was our regular go to bar for the weekend until our group and half of the people at the bar were no longer being served. After we were stopped being served, our pitcher was cleaned from the table (a full one) and we didn't get our refund for the pitcher. There was no reason given to us as to why we were cut off. Our group was not loud, rowdy, or rude. Regardless, this place stinks, the decor hasn't changed since 1975 from the looks of this place, the bathrooms are AWFUL, and management is on staff all the time but do not do a good job when dealing with issues regarding bar staff and customers.
