A few years ago, I looked into cost effective places to change tires. I saw universal praise for Discount Tire for multiple reasons: They solely focus on tires and tire related issues. Also, it does sound like they are great with maintenance such as tire rotation to upkeep the products you buy from them (and it's free!). I came a bit early for my morning appointment, and they were able to help me quite quickly. Dakota was my technician. He was excellent both in knowledge and attitude. As a novice in car maintenance (as usually someone else in the family would take care of it), I appreciated his discussion about things, including severity of tire tread and why the recommendations are to replace tires around every 6 years regardless of tread wear. Since I'm not usually sitting and staring at the chart that seems to be in every mechanic or tire shop, I never actually read it and this was the first time I got a full explanation of it. Ultimately, I chose to change my tires and we walked through a good option based on my usual driving habits and use. The TPMS was also found to be dead which was an extra cost for replacement. I was informed, however, that both the tires and TPMS would be under warranty so I felt more confident with the cost. I also like that if you have issues with your tires or newly installed parts, you can stop by any Discount Tire location for assistance. I will happily continue to come to Discount Tire for my tire needs.

We found the tires we wanted at our local Discount Tire location. I made an appointment online as well. I was notified via text and email with my order information and appointment reminders. I arrived for my appointment and checked in at the service desk. I let them know I preferred to wait in my car, and that was not a problem. Once it was my turn, a service guy motioned for me to pull into the garage. Once inside, they confirmed my order and offered me a donut and bottled water. Super nice! Towards the end of my service I was offered new Mopar valve stem covers for free. They really went above and beyond to make my experience superior. Awesome customer service seems to be a thing of the past, but after this experience I feel like there's still hope. Thank you Discount Tire! Would highly recommend.

My wife punched a hole in the sidewall of one of her tires and I went to have it replaced on a Friday afternoon. However, it turned out they didn't happen to have the tire I needed in stock but did have it in Portland and could have it there on Monday. This wasn't a problem for me. However, when Monday came, it turned out my wife and had had a miscommunication and she wanted to have both the front tires replaced rather than just the one. So, at around noon, I called Hazel Dell Tire Pros and let them know about the situation. Although they had only gotten the one tire from Portland as we originally had discussed, they kindly sent somebody over to Portland again and picked up the second tire and had me out the door before 3 o'clock. Staff is helpful and friendly, and the prices seem reasonable.

Discount Tire - Save now, spend hundreds (if not thousands) and hours later…read more I bought four tires from Discount Tire about a year and a half ago, expecting them to last for years. Instead, I ended up wasting countless hours, hundreds of dollars, and eventually over $1,000 replacing them only 10,000 on these tires. About a year and half after purchasing the tires, my car started pulling hard to the right. Discount Tire told me it was probably an alignment issue, so they charged me about $200 for an alignment. Before I left, I specifically asked if the problem was fixed. An employee drove the car around the parking lot, came back, and confidently told me it was. The moment I pulled onto the main road, the car was still pulling just as badly. I returned again. They inspected the tires, said, tires are not worn but rotated these anyway, checked the alignment again, and still sent me home with exactly the same problem. At no point did anyone identify the real issue. They said tires are directional so were only able to rotate same side back to front. Thinking something might be wrong with the car itself, I even scheduled a dealership diagnostic. Thankfully, before wasting another half day and more money, my husband temporarily swapped the two front directional tires just as a test. The car immediately started pulling to the LEFT instead of the right. That proved the problem was the tires--not my alignment, not my suspension, not my car. Then few weeks later one tire completely failed and one day when leaving the house it was completely flat. I took it to Les Schwab instead. Within minutes, they found the tire had internally separated and could not be repaired. Here's the part that shocked me the most: Les Schwab immediately recognized that these were winter/snow tires and explained they are not intended to be driven year-round in our climate. That was the first time anyone had ever told me this. All 4 tires were separated and not usable. Discount Tire sold me these tires. They performed alignments on them. They inspected them multiple times while I complained about pulling. Not once did anyone mention they were winter tires being driven year-round or that this could be causing the problems. I ended up buying four new tires from Les Schwab. Their package includes free alignments, flat repairs, tire rotations, and a 60,000-mile warranty. The difference in customer service wasn't even close. My experience with Discount Tire felt like this: save $100 today... then spend hundreds more later on unnecessary alignments, waste hours chasing a problem they couldn't diagnose, and eventually replace a $1,000 set of tires far sooner than expected. That's not a bargain. That's expensive.
