    Lots of various sweets

While visiting Brooklyn from Canada during a Canadian lockdown, I decided to get a haircut because in my city there are still no haircuts available. After doing some searching I ended up in the Muslim part of town. After my haircut I was getting a little bit hungry and decided to look for some food. Across the street is this bakery and when I went inside I also saw that they sell Indian and Pakistani foods. My favorite go-to food is always chicken biryani. I ordered that and a little piece of pistachio goat milk cake. The chicken biryani was awesome. I took it home and shared it with my host, it had a wonderful variety of flavors and was spicy but not too much. Very savory and far better than most biryanis I've tried even though it didn't seem to have exactly the normal mix of spices. It was very special. They provided three sets of two sauces, which was a sweet one and a yogurt chutney. That was perfect because actually made three meals out of it, two that night, and one the next night. For $7.... I deducted one point from my review, simply because I asked for the pistachio cake and I pointed to one piece that had a lot of pistachios, and was a pretty good size. But they ended up giving me a piece that had only one single sliver of pistachio.. And the piece was a small one compared to the one I pointed to and I asked for. Not that I should really be eating sweets because they're not good for me. But the cake was delicious, and it tasted pretty healthy too as it's just milk and sugar.

I would give them 0 stars if I could! I ordered 2 samosa chaat because I thought Pakistani people know how to make this best. WRONG. If you want samosa chaat, avoid this place like the plague. It had more onions and potatoes than anything else. Absolutely trash. I took 2 bites and had a stomachache since. PLEASE AVOID. Edit: we got food poisoning from this food.

Saturday April 13 1:26 pm i walk in at 1:10. No on behind the counter I call out hello like 5 times. There is one cook to right pouring food into the containers. He doesn't go get anyone for help. I call out hello a few more times by this tim Im waiting 5 minutes. Other customers are making fun of the owner and the other workers who don't come to the front Fialy after 11-12 minutes after me calling out a guy comes to the front and asks me rudly "what do you want"? WTF? What do I want? I wanted food but not from rude servers. I told him a better response would be "how can I help you?" Instead of what do you want? Im never eating here again, if you want no customer service and rude treatment just for wanting to orser to go to this shitty place. There are way more friendlier places on Coney Island Ave that will be happy to serve you with a smile and treat you like a paying customer!

$7.99 for the "lunch box combo" you can ask for this at any hour. Fish curry, lamb curry, and chicken biryani!

    1) Their food is delicious and so reasonably priced! 2) It is open 24h!!! Going home late at night but having an option to eat some amazing authentic Indian/paki food. Heck yea! 3) They give you free chaat (a type of mix salad) if you dine in. 4) They will let you sample any of the desserts for free! I came here at 4am on a late night. I asked for the lunch box which is $7.99 for 2 curries and a rice. I got fish curry, lamb curry, and chicken biryani. All for $7.99!!!! I also got roti $.50, and sheesh kabob $1 I also got a sample of free desert to go, the gulab jamun. It was amazing Their customer service isn't the best but the food is so worth it! If you would like to see more local cheap eats or Indian recipes, check out my YouTube or ig @foodie_nishi! Thank you so much!

Butter chicken and fried fish over rice and chickpea sauce. Great food, friendly service and cheap prices.

This joint opened some time ago to replace the appalling "HFC" (Halal fried chicken). Anyhow, I spent $9 for a great meal to take home. While I found the food was lacking the heat I'd expected, it had great flavor. The desserts I picked up were great, but too pricey at $1 each. Come specifically for the naan, which I believe they make cook when you order it ($1, afaik)! I'm not sure if it's a mistake, but I got 2 samosas for $1, which seems too good to be true. They were tasty. I got the food to go and it was room temperature. I microwaved it at home to make it warm, but I'm not sure how I feel about this. If it was warm, I would know it's microwaved, but should they have done it? (end rant)

The food is some of the most authentic Pakistani cuisine I've had anywhere in New York, from the naan to the saag. If you're missing home, this restaurant is truly an experience. Don't get me wrong--the food is rich, generously cooked with oil, and probably not the healthiest option, but that's part of what makes Pakistani food so comforting and authentic. There's plenty of seating, making it a great spot to visit with family. There's almost always a line, but that's a good sign and a testament to how great the food is. The service is solid--they make sure you get what you need. The ambience is simple and functional, especially for a packed restaurant, but the focus here is clearly on the food. If you're craving real Pakistani flavors, this place is worth the visit.

I was the only lady there and as I have written in earlier reviews no women come here. The chicken was fresh and tasty but I could manage only half and had it packed. Now the naans here are not the delicate fragrant ones at fancy Indian restaurants. These are thick ones with or without ghee smeared on top (to request) meant for the lumberjack. Here these are in the form of cab drivers and delivery men who need sustenance and no froo froo cuisine. The gender neutral restroom is in my opinion the "Black hole of Calcutta." For men, it may be passable but for women absolutely verboten to enter. At a pinch, go to Kalustiyan where there is a restroom up the stairs. Ideally only should buy something before asking to powder one's nose. Service at Lahori is fine.

I love tasting new restaurants and wanted to stop by this place . Fantastic location . Right in the heart of Lexington Avenue . Lots of other restaurants nearby. Lots of space inside to sit and eat . Even though the ambience is not that great , it's ok for a quick lunch .. service could be better. All guys go inside the kitchen and hardly come out . Wish they had a bell or something in the counter outside for the customers to call them . Sometimes you keep waiting for many minutes before they come out . For the price , food was good . They have many food items on display and we chose some curries .. quantity was good . Naan , white rice and 2 non veg curries for 13.50$. Not bad. ... goat curry was good . Perfect Lahori taste . Chicken curry was average . Could have tasted better . My only issue is presentation. The y just mix all curries in rice and they are smashed all across the plate . Wish they give these curries in separate containers so we can enjoy the flavor of each curries . Another thing is they just reheat these curries . They are precooked . Sometimes with that , we wouldn't know if it is fresh . It tasted fresh though. Overall a good restaurant but giving them 3 stars . Will visit again and check and improve my ratings if needed

The Jani Burger was amazing, perfectly cooked, with great pakistani flavor, and it was refreshing not to have a smash burger for once. The lamb chops were also cooked to perfection, perfect medium rare, super tender and very flavorful. The Nihari sandwich was also great, however I wish there was a little more unique flavor to it. The masala fries are alright, but I'd say you can skip those. On top of the great food, this service was even better. The staff was so friendly, checking in on us and even offering us a free mango lassi drink. We at this on the sidewalk so it was still fresh when we got it. But for us the food just didn't hit. I recognize it's fusion, but maybe the way things were meant to be balanced didn't mesh. The (impossible burger patty) lahori felt quite bland. Maybe because the burger patty was so thick, but it just kind of was overwhelmed by generic beef patty taste which wasn't what I was expecting. The nihari had some really good flavor, but I found the bread was somehow both quite dry and soggy at the same time. It's hard to describe, but I felt like it was working against the actual nihari flavor. Sadly I do think something like naan or basmati rice would've been better. The fries were pretty unremarkable, too. Just tasted like fries you'd get at your local bodega. I don't expect the wheel to be reinvented when it comes to fusion restaurants, but I just felt nothing actually balanced themselves well (at least for what we ordered). For $50 pre-tip, I'm a bit disappointed. This place has been on my hit list for a while, but I can't see myself wanting to go back. Staff was friendly and the space, albeit small, can fit groups of 2-4 pretty easily. I have a few friends that really like this place, so maybe I'm just the odd one out.

We ordered Gol Gappay, lamb biryani, Gosht Karahi, and a naan. The Gol Gappay was interesting. Crispy shells filled with chickpeas and potato, with a tangy, salty, savory flavor. Adding a little yogurt balanced it out nicely. Definitely something different. The lamb biryani was around the low teens price-wise and came in a huge portion with plenty of meat. The lamb was slightly dry -- felt like it may have been prepared earlier and kept warm -- but still flavorful and within expectations for the price. The standout for us was the Gosht Karahi. Tender but slightly chewy lamb, very savory and well seasoned, with lots of large chunks of meat. It looks a bit pricey at first, but considering how much meat you actually get, it felt like a solid value. We packed up half of it and still thought the leftovers were more generous than some restaurants' fresh servings. The naan was massive. Good flavor, although it didn't have that super fresh-out-of-the-tandoor smoky char. Funny enough, reheating it in the air fryer at home made it even better. One thing to know: every dish here runs large, so this place is better with a group. There are parking spots in front, but not many.

Inedible Signature Dish, Shockingly Unprofessional Service, and Zero Empathy…read more We visited this restaurant based on strong recommendations, hoping for a memorable family dinner. Unfortunately, after paying a $221 bill, this turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. While the karai was a redeeming bright spot, the signature nihari was completely disappointing--resembling a heavy, generic spicy curry rather than traditional nihari, and ultimately left uneaten. However, the food was secondary to the appalling level of service. In all our years of dining out, we have never witnessed staff physically clearing plates and food from a table while guests were still in the middle of eating. It is a fundamental breach of basic hospitality and respect. Compounding this, we were dining with our children, including a child with autism who was having a genuinely difficult moment. Given that management is reportedly well aware of these parenting challenges, the complete lack of patience, empathy, or professional grace from the staff was deeply disheartening. A $221 bill should at the very least guarantee a baseline standard of customer care and human decency. Regrettably, due to the total failure in service and professionalism, this was our first and last visit.
