But this review is about something bigger than dessert. The strawberry cheesecake here reminds me of my mom. It was her favorite, and it was one of the last desserts I got to share with her. Anytime she wanted a sweet treat, that's what she asked for. Ordering it now keeps me connected to her. This past July, on her 3rd birthday in heaven, I placed an order to celebrate her. The menu only had cherry cheesecake that day, so I wrote a note explaining what the strawberry meant to me. The staff didn't just make it happen, they sent an extra slice of strawberry cheesecake on top of it. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare. The people here have always been this kind. We love everyone who works there, and we're grateful for the small moments of care they've shown our family. Thank you for everything.

The staff is very disrespectful and irresponsible towards the customers. Avoid this place unless you are in a mood to ruin your mood, be your guest. I happen to order a Tandoori chicken and some Bread with it over the phone. I unfortunately forgot the order number spoken to me over the phone. When I went to the restaurant to get my order, first of all the staff on the front didn't even ask or welcome. Secondly I finally approached a dark skin guy and told him that I forgot my order number and described what I ordered. In return I got the rudest reply by the dark skinned employee that if you have no order number than no servings for you. ( excuse my language with dark skin scenario, using it because I don't know the name of this employee) hopefully this concern reaches the owner or the manager and taken into consideration. read more

Very good place to do take out from. The food is very good and the staff is very helpful. The best place to go if your looking for authentic pakistani food. The decor is nice and place is well lit. The only thing that I find lacking us the seating arrangement as it more fast food friendly then actual take your family for a nice meal. All in all love the place and will keep going there as much as I can. read more

I would recommend the potato samosa more than the meat samosa because the potato filling is more moist and flavorful. Both samosas had a fluffy/soft skin though, and I do prefer a thick/crunchy skin. The huge dessert selection impressed me. The tres leches cake in particular is a fun twist on the Latin sweet, using a caramelized glazed on top. The rice pudding is delicious as well. Opens until 4am, so it's a nice solve for late night eats. Food is 3 stars, but I'm rating 4 stars after considering service and overall convenience.

The flavours were well balanced and the paratha had a good flake to it. There was A LOT of lamb inside. -The ghee masala dosa was the shining star; it must have been 2.5, if not 3 feet long. The edges were super crispy like a chip, and the masala potato pilling was delicious If I could do it all over again, I'd only eat here and not eat ahead of time, since this was enough food to fill a party of two (maybe add in a samosa or two). I'll definitely be coming back to try more fare.

The aloo qeema seemed like minced/shredded chicken. I was expecting whole pieces of chicken but it was still tasty. What I recommend is getting the meat and then making your own rice. That way you can save it for the next day, etc... The aloo tiki basically tasted like the inside of a vegetable samosa but double the f. When I cut it, it was easy to fall apart and mushy. I never had a mango lassi in brooklyn since my friends would tell me how they get stomach aches after eating at the Indian/Pakistani places around Coney Island Ave. To my surprise the mango lassi was bottled. It's an easy to go/ drink version of mango yogurt. This might be my go to mango lassi place now. And lastly the vegetable samosa! It came with the mint colored sauce. Typically one can't go wrong with a samosa but I will say that theirs was super oily on what side and semi easy to fall apart on the edges. It was still delicious so I would get it again... post covid. The reason why is due to my concern for the safety/ hygiene of this place (which is why I took off a star). The appetizers/fritters were just placed in a brown paper bag. There was no container or packaging for it. Also, according to another review the staff don't wear their masks.

More recently, I hosted a meal here with a bunch of others, and there were enough glaring issues that I can't recommend this place anymore, regardless of the excellent quality. The place is casual, and the staff had to be asked for silverware, extra cups for water, spoons for serving, and other items. To drink, someone had a $5 Doogh, and I ordered one too, but it never arrived, though at least it wasn't on the bill. They gave us a simple salad to munch on prior to the meal, which worked well with the yogurt dressing on the table. The bread on everyone else's table was missing from ours, which turned out to be the first difference in our meal compared to most other tables. For appetizers, we got a couple that were both $8 and had the same type of sauce. My preference of the two was the Mantu, or steamed dumplings stuffed with ground beef. The dish came with six large dumplings that were plump, with a nice thin dumpling skin. There was also the Aushak, filled with leeks and scallions. In comparison, they were smaller and a bit thicker, with a more refreshing filling. The sauces on both dishes consisted of a mix of garlic mint yogurt and a lamb/tomato-based sauce, and they went well, adding some tang. Of the mains, my preference was the $15 Chapli Kabob, or sizzling pan-fried ground beef patties mixed with fresh vegetables. In comparison to the Pakistani version, they were more delicately spiced, but I didn't mind, as there still was a little pleasant kick. The meat, otherwise, was very tender, with the three patties easily broken apart with a spoon for sharing. The group favorite was surprisingly the Spicy Chicken Kabob, consisting of boneless chicken breast marinated with a blend of Afghan spices for $17. The chicken was very tender and juicy, with a mild kick. I found it better than the $18 Lamb Tikka Kabob, with the meat in the latter being tasty but a bit dry/overcooked. There was also the tasty $15 Borani Banjan, or fried eggplant seasoned with spices and topped with garlic mint yogurt. This is available as an appetizer, but we got it as a main. The eggplant had a light crisp and a similarly tasty sauce, similar to the appetizers, which made sense in retrospect. The most well-known dish here is the Uzbeki Qabuli Pulao for $23, or braised lamb shank served over a bed of rice and garnished with sweet raisins and carrots. The lamb fell off the bone and was wonderful overall, and I can see why this is the most popular option here. I would comment on the Qabuli Pulao, but they gave us standard brown rice. They eventually gave us a separate dish of raisins and carrots, but this was annoying at best, as a few other dishes were coming out with said mixture on other tables, and I doubt they had all ordered it prior. For dessert, we got a single order of Firnee for $6, a housemade custard made with sweet milk, cinnamon, rosewater, and cardamom, garnished with minced pistachios. The custard was light with a mild sweetness. Otherwise, there was a pleasant floral flavor. We had a $5 pot of green tea with that dessert, which had some cardamom and I think maybe a little bit of cinnamon as well, and it went well. Overall, it was good, though a few of us got dessert afterwards at the excellent Pakistani shop Narala nearby. If the food wasn't so good, I'd be docking this spot another point or two, as this was the first time in a very long time that it felt like we were getting a different experience, in terms of bread and especially the rice, for some rather obvious/unfortunate reasons. The fact that they charged us for this rice multiple times without giving us said pulao irks me as well, even if it's only $3 per dish. To be honest, I would prefer to go back to a pricier spot in Manhattan, such as Afghan Kabob House or Ariana, where the service is nicer and we get the same experience.
